Luke 5:33-39

33And they saidG3004to Him, “The disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101of JohnἸωάννουIōannouG2491oftenπυκνὰpuknaG4437fastνηστεύουσινnēsteuousinG3522and offerποιοῦνται,poiountaiG4160prayersδεήσειςdeēseisG1162, the disciplesof the PhariseesΦαρισαίων,PharisaiōnG5330alsoG2532dothe sameὁμοίωςhomoiōsG3668,but YoursG4674eatἐσθίουσινesthiousinG2068and drinkπίνουσιν.¶pinousinG4095.”

34And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to them,“You cannotμὴ δύνασθεmē dunastheG1410 G3361makeποιῆσαιpoiēsaiG4160theattendantsυἱοὺςhuiousG5207of the groomνυμφῶνοςnumphōnosG3567fastνηστεῦσαι;nēsteusaiG3522whileἐν ᾧen hōG1722 G3739the groomνυμφίοςnumphiosG3566is with them, can you?

35But thedaysἡμέραι,hēmeraiG2250will comeἐλεύσονταιeleusontaiG2064;and whenὅτανhotanG3752the groomνυμφίος,numphiosG3566is takenG522awayἀπαρθῇaparthēaG522from them, thenτότεtoteG5119they will fastνηστεύσουσινnēsteusousinG3522in thoseἐκείναιςekeinaisG1565daysἡμέραις.hēmeraisG2250.”

36And He was alsoG2532tellingἔλεγενelegenG3004them a parableπαραβολὴνparabolēnG3850:“NoG3762oneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762tearsσχίσαςschisasG4977a pieceG1915ofG1915clothG1915from a newκαινοῦkainouG2537garmentἱματίουhimatiouG2440and putsἐπιβάλλειepiballeiG1911it on an oldπαλαιόν·palaionG3820garmentἱμάτιονhimationG2440;otherwiseG1490he will bothG2532tearσχίσει,schiseiG4977the newκαινὸνkainonG2537,and the patchG1915from the newκαινοῦ.kainouG2537garmentwill not matchσυμφωνήσειsumphōnēseiG4856the oldπαλαιῷpalaiōG3820.

37And noG3762oneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762poursβάλλειballeiG906newνέονneonG3501wineοἶνονoinonG3631into oldπαλαιούς·palaiousG3820wineskinsἀσκοὺςaskousG779;otherwiseG1490the newνέοςneosG3501wineοἶνοςoinosG3631will burstῥήξειrhēxeiG4486the skinsἀσκοὺςaskousG779and it will be spilledG1632outG1632,and the skinsἀσκοὶaskoiG779will be ruinedἀπολοῦνται·apolountaiG622.

38But newνέονneonG3501wineοἶνονoinonG3631mustG992beG992putG992into freshκαινοὺςkainousG2537wineskinsἀσκοὺςaskousG779.

39And noG3762oneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762,after drinkingπιὼνpiōnG4095oldπαλαιὸνpalaionG3820winewantsθέλειtheleiG2309newνέον,neonG3501;for he saysλέγειlegeiG3004, ‘The oldπαλαιὸςpalaiosG3820is fineχρηστόςchrēstosG5543.’”
