Message to Egypt

1Thepronouncementמַשָּׂ֖אma.Sa'H4853concerningEgyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714:Beholdהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009,the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068isridingרֹכֵ֨בro.KhevH7392on a swiftקַל֙kalH7031cloudעָ֥ב'avH5645and is about to comeוּבָ֣אu.Va'H935to Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714; Theidolsאֱלִילֵ֤י'e.li.LeiH457of Egyptמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4714will trembleוְנָע֞וּve.na.'UH5128at His presenceמִפָּנָ֔יוmi.pa.NavH6440, And theheartוּלְבַ֥בu.le.VavH3824of the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714will meltיִמַּ֥סyi.MasH4549withinבְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃be.kir.BoH7130them.

2“So I will inciteוְסִכְסַכְתִּ֤יve.sikh.sakh.TiH5526Egyptiansמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4714against Egyptiansבְּמִצְרַ֔יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714;And they will fightוְנִלְחֲמ֥וּve.nil.cha.MuH3898,eachאִישׁ־'ish-H376against his brotherבְּאָחִ֖יוbe.'a.ChivH251and eachוְאִ֣ישׁve.'IshH376against his neighborבְּרֵעֵ֑הוּbe.re.'E.huH7453,Cityעִ֣יר'irH5892against cityבְּעִ֔ירbe.'IrH5892andkingdomמַמְלָכָ֖הmam.la.KhahH4467against kingdomבְּמַמְלָכָֽה׃be.mam.la.KhahH4467.

3Then the spiritרֽוּחַ־Ru.ach-H7307of the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4714will be demoralizedוְנָבְקָ֤הve.na.ve.KahH1238withinבְּקִרְבּ֔וֹbe.kir.BoH7130them;And I will confuseאֲבַלֵּ֑עַ'a.va.Le.a'H1104their strategyוַעֲצָת֖וֹva.'a.tza.ToH6098, So thatthey will resortוְדָרְשׁ֤וּve.da.re.ShuH1875to idolsהָֽאֱלִילִים֙ha.'e.li.LimH457and ghostsH330ofH330theH330deadH330, And tomediumsהָאֹב֖וֹתha.'o.VotH178and spiritistsהַיִּדְּעֹנִֽים׃hai.yi.de.'o.NimH3049.

5The watersמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325from the seaמֵֽהַיָּ֑םme.hai.YamH3220will dryוְנִשְּׁתוּ־ve.ni.she.tu-H5405up,And the riverוְנָהָ֖רve.na.HarH5104will be parchedיֶחֱרַ֥בye.che.RavH2717and dryוְיָבֵֽשׁ׃ve.ya.VeshH3001.

6Thecanalsנְהָר֔וֹתne.ha.RotH5104will emitH2186aH2186stenchH2186, Thestreamsיְאֹרֵ֣יye.'o.ReiH2975of Egyptמָצ֑וֹרma.TzorH4693will thinH1809outH1809and dryוְחָרְב֖וּve.cha.re.VuH2717upH2717;The reedsקָנֶ֥הka.NehH7070and rushesוָס֖וּףva.SufH5488will rotH7060awayH7060.

7The bulrushesעָר֥וֹתa.RotH6169by theNileיְא֖וֹרye.'orH2975, by theedgeפִּ֣יpiH6310of the Nileיְא֑וֹרye.'orH2975And allוְכֹל֙ve.KholH3605the sownH4218fieldsH4218by the Nileיְא֔וֹרye.'orH2975Will becomeH3001dryיִיבַ֥שׁyi.VashH3001,be drivenH5086awayH5086,and be noH369moreH369.

10And thepillarsשָׁתֹתֶ֖יהָsha.to.Tei.haH8356of Egyptwill be crushedמְדֻכָּאִ֑יםme.du.ka.'ImH1792;Allכָּל־kol-H3605the hiredשֶׂ֖כֶרSe.kherH7938laborersעֹ֥שֵׂי'O.seiH6213will be grievedאַגְמֵי־'ag.mei-H99in soulנָֽפֶשׁ׃Na.feshH5315.

21So the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068will makeוְנוֹדַ֤עve.no.Da'H3045Himself knownוְיָדְע֥וּve.ya.de.'UH3045to Egyptלְמִצְרַ֔יִםle.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,and the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֛יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714will knowH3045the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068on that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117.They will even worshipוְעָֽבְדוּ֙ve.'a.ve.DuH5647withsacrificeזֶ֣בַחZe.vachH2077and offeringוּמִנְחָ֔הu.min.ChahH4503,and will makeוְנָדְרוּ־ve.na.de.ru-H5087a vowנֵ֥דֶרNe.derH5088to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068and performוְשִׁלֵּֽמוּ׃ve.shi.Le.muH7999it.

22And the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068will strikeוְנָגַ֧ףve.na.GafH5062Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,strikingנָגֹ֣ףna.GofH5062buthealingוְרָפ֑וֹאve.ra.Fo'H7495; so they willreturnוְשָׁ֙בוּ֙ve.Sha.vuH7725to the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and He will respondH6279toH6279their pleasH6279and healוּרְפָאָֽם׃u.re.fa.'AmH7495them.
