2I will bringוַהֲצִיק֖וֹתִיva.ha.tzi.Ko.tiH6693distressH6693to Arielלַֽאֲרִיאֵ֑לla.'a.ri.'ElH740, And she will be a city ofgrievingתַֽאֲנִיָּה֙ta.'a.ni.YahH8386andmourningוַֽאֲנִיָּ֔הva.'a.ni.YahH592; And she will be like anArielכַּאֲרִיאֵֽל׃ka.'a.ri.'ElH740to me.

3I willcampוְחָנִ֥יתִיve.cha.Ni.tiH2583againstעָלָ֑יִךְ'a.La.yikhH5921youencirclingכַדּ֖וּרkha.DurH1754you,And I will setH6696upH6696siegeworksמֻצָּ֔בmu.TzavH4674againstעָלַ֙יִךְ֙'a.La.yikhH5921you,And I will raiseוַהֲקִֽימֹתִ֥יva.ha.ki.mo.TiH6965upH6965battleH4694towersH4694againstעָלַ֖יִךְ'a.La.yikhH5921you.

4Then you willbe broughtH8213lowוְשָׁפַלְתְּ֙ve.sha.falTH8213;From the earthמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776you will speakתְּדַבֵּ֔רִיte.da.Be.riH1696,And from the dustוּמֵֽעָפָ֖רu.me.'a.FarH6083whereyou are prostrateתִּשַּׁ֣חti.ShachH7817Your wordsאִמְרָתֵ֑ךְ'im.ra.TekhH565will come.Your voiceקוֹלֵ֔ךְko.LekhH6963will also be like that of aspiritכְּא֤וֹבke.'ovH178from the groundמֵאֶ֙רֶץ֙me.'E.retzH776,And your speechאִמְרָתֵ֥ךְ'im.ra.TekhH565will whisperתְּצַפְצֵֽף׃te.tzaf.TzefH6850from the dustוּמֵעָפָ֖רu.me.'a.FarH6083.

5But the multitudeהֲמ֣וֹןha.MonH1995of yourenemiesזָרָ֑יִךְza.Ra.yikhH2114will becomeוְהָיָ֛הve.ha.YahH1961like fineדַּ֖קdakH1851dustכְּאָבָ֥קke.'a.VakH80,And the multitudeהֲמ֣וֹןha.MonH1995of theruthlessעָֽרִיצִ֔ים'a.ri.TzimH6184onesH6184like the chaffוּכְמֹ֤ץu.khe.MotzH4671whichblowsH5674awayעֹבֵר֙'o.VerH5674;And it will happenוְהָיָ֖הve.ha.YahH1961instantlyלְפֶ֥תַעle.Fe.ta'H6621,suddenlyפִּתְאֹֽם׃pit.'OmH6597.

6From the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635you will bepunishedתִּפָּקֵ֔דti.pa.KedH6485withthunderבְּרַ֥עַםbe.Ra.'amH7482and earthquakeוּבְרַ֖עַשׁu.ve.Ra.'ashH7494and loudגָּד֑וֹלga.DolH1419noiseוְק֣וֹלve.KolH6963, Withwhirlwindסוּפָה֙su.FahH5492and tempestוּסְעָרָ֔הu.se.'a.RahH5591and the flameוְלַ֖הַבve.La.havH3851of a consumingאוֹכֵלָֽה׃'o.khe.LahH398fireאֵ֥שׁ'eshH784.

7And themultitudeהֲמוֹן֙ha.mOnH1995of allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471who wageהַצֹּבְאִ֖יםha.tzoe.'ImH6633warצֹבֶ֙יהָ֙tzo.Vei.haH6633againstעַל־'al-H5921Arielאֲרִיאֵ֑ל'a.ri.'ElH740,Even allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605who wageH6633warH6633against her and her strongholdוּמְצֹ֣דָתָ֔הּu.me.Tzo.da.TahH4685,and who distressוְהַמְּצִיקִ֖יםve.ha.me.tzi.KimH6693her,Will be like a dreamכַּֽחֲלוֹם֙ka.cha.lOmH2472, avisionחֲז֣וֹןcha.ZonH2377of the nightלַ֔יְלָהLay.lahH3915.

8It will be as whenH3512a hungryהָרָעֵ֜בha.ra.'EvH7457personH7457dreamsיַחֲלֹ֨םya.cha.LomH2492--And beholdוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009,he is eatingאוֹכֵ֗ל'o.KhelH398;But when he awakensH7019, hishungerנַפְשׁוֹ֒naf.ShoH5315is not satisfiedוְרֵיקָ֣הve.rei.KahH7386,Or as whenH3512a thirstyהַצָּמֵא֙ha.tza.Me'H6771personH6771dreamsיַחֲלֹ֤םya.cha.LomH2492--And beholdוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009,he is drinkingשֹׁתֶ֔הsho.TehH8354,But when he awakensH7019,beholdוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009,he is faintעָיֵ֔ף'a.YefH5889And histhirstוְנַפְשׁ֖וֹve.naf.ShoH5315is not quenchedשׁוֹקֵקָ֑הsho.ke.KahH8264.Soכֵּ֣ןkenH3651will the multitudeהֲמוֹן֙ha.mOnH1995of allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471beWho wageהַצֹּבְאִ֖יםha.tzoe.'ImH6633warH6633againstעַל־'al-H5921Mountהַ֥רharH2022Zionצִיּֽוֹן׃ סtzi.YonH6726.

9Be delayedהִתְמַהְמְה֣וּhit.mah.me.HuH4102and horrifiedוּתְמָ֔הוּu.te.Ma.huH8539,Blindהִשְׁתַּֽעַשְׁע֖וּhish.ta.'ash.'UH8173yourselves and be blindוָשֹׁ֑עוּva.Sho.'uH8173; Theybecomeשָֽׁכְר֣וּsha.khe.RuH7937drunkH7937,but not with wineיַ֔יִןYa.yinH3196,They staggerנָע֖וּna.'UH5128,but not with intoxicatingH7941drinkשֵׁכָֽר׃she.KharH7941.

10For the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068has pouredנָסַ֨ךְna.SakhH5258overעֲלֵיכֶ֤ם'a.lei.KhemH5921you a spiritר֣וּחַRu.achH7307of deepתַּרְדֵּמָ֔הtar.de.MahH8639sleepH8639, He hasshutוַיְעַצֵּ֖םvay.'a.TzemH6105your eyesעֵֽינֵיכֶ֑ם'ei.nei.KhemH5869--the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֛יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030;And He has coveredכִּסָּֽה׃ki.SahH3680your headsרָאשֵׁיכֶ֥םra.shei.KhemH7218--the seersהַחֹזִ֖יםha.cho.ZimH2374.

11The entireהַכֹּ֗לha.KolH3605visionחָז֣וּתcha.ZutH2380will be to you like the wordsכְּדִבְרֵי֮ke.div.ReiH1697of a sealedהֶֽחָתוּם֒he.cha.TumH2856bookהַסֵּ֣פֶרha.Se.ferH5612,whichאֲשֶֽׁר־'a.Sher-H834,when they giveיִתְּנ֣וּyi.te.NuH5414it to the one whois literateיוֹדֵ֥עַ סֵ֛פֶרyo.De.a' se.ferH3045 H5612,sayingלֵאמֹ֖רle.MorH559, “Pleaseנָא־na'-H4994readקְרָ֣אke.Ra'H7121thisזֶ֑הZehH2088,”he will sayוְאָמַר֙ve.'a.MarH559, “I cannotלֹ֣א אוּכַ֔לlo' 'u.KhalH3201 H3808,becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588it is sealedחָת֖וּםcha.TumH2856.”

12Then thebookהַסֵּ֗פֶרha.Se.ferH5612will be givenוְנִתַּ֣ןve.ni.TanH5414to the one whoאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834is illiterateלֹֽא־ יָדַ֥ע סֵ֛פֶרlo'- ya.Da' Se.ferH3808 H3045 H5612,sayingלֵאמֹ֖רle.MorH559, “Pleaseנָא־na'-H4994readקְרָ֣אke.Ra'H7121thisזֶ֑הZehH2088.”And he will sayוְאָמַ֕רve.'a.MarH559, “Icannotלֹ֥אlo'H3808readיָדַ֖עְתִּי סֵֽפֶר׃ סya.Da'.ti Se.ferH3045 H5612.”

13Then the Lordאֲדֹנָ֗י'a.do.NaiH136saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Becauseיַ֚עַן כִּ֤יYa.'an kiH3282 H3588thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971approachesנִגַּשׁ֙ni.GashH5066Me with theirwordsבְּפִ֤יוbe.FivH6310And honorsכִּבְּד֔וּנִיki.be.Du.niH3513Me with their lipsוּבִשְׂפָתָיו֙u.vis.fa.TavH8193,But their heartוְלִבּ֖וֹve.li.BoH3820isH7368farרִחַ֣קri.ChakH7368awayH7368from Me, And theirreverenceH3372for Meconsistsוַתְּהִ֤יva.te.HiH1961of thecommandmentמִצְוַ֥תmitz.VatH4687of menH376that is taughtמְלֻמָּדָֽה׃me.lu.ma.DahH3925;

14Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651beholdH2009,I will once againיוֹסִ֛ףyo.SifH3254dealH6381marvelouslyH6381with thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088peopleהָֽעָם־ha.'om-H5971,wondrouslyוָפֶ֑לֶאva.Fe.le'H6382marvelousH6381; Andthe wisdomחָכְמַ֣תcha.khe.MatH2451of their wiseחֲכָמָ֔יוcha.kha.MavH2450menH2450will perishוְאָֽבְדָה֙ve.'a.ve.DahH6,And the understandingוּבִינַ֥תu.vi.NatH998of their menH995whoH995haveH995understandingנְבֹנָ֖יוne.vo.NavH995will be concealedתִּסְתַּתָּֽר׃ סtis.ta.TarH5641.”

15Woeה֛וֹיHoH1945to those who deeplyהַמַּעֲמִיקִ֥יםha.ma.'a.mi.KimH6009hideלַסְתִּ֣רlas.TirH5641theirplansעֵצָ֑ה'e.TzahH6098from the Lordמֵֽיהוָ֖הme.Yah.wehH3068, And whosedeedsמַֽעֲשֵׂיהֶ֔םma.'a.sei.HemH4639are donein a darkבְמַחְשָׁךְ֙ve.mach.shoKhH4285placeH4285,And they sayוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “Whoמִ֥יmiH4310seesרֹאֵ֖נוּro.'E.nuH7200us?” or “Whoוּמִ֥יu.MiH4310knowsיוֹדְעֵֽנוּ׃yod.'E.nuH3045us?”

16You turnH2016thingsaroundH2016!Shall the potterH3335be consideredיֵֽחָשֵׁ֑בye.cha.ShevH2803as equal with the clayכְּחֹ֥מֶרke.Cho.merH2563, ThatwhatH4639is madeH4639would sayיֹאמַ֨רyo.MarH559to its makerלְעֹשֵׂ֙הוּ֙le.'o.Se.huH6213, “He did not makeעָשָׂ֔נִי'a.Sa.niH6213me”;Or whatוְיֵ֛צֶרve.Ye.tzerH3336is formedH3335sayאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559to him who formedH3335it, “He has noH3808understandingהֵבִֽין׃he.VinH995”?

19Theafflictedעֲנָוִ֛ים'a.na.VimH6035also will increaseוְיָסְפ֧וּve.ya.se.FuH3254their joyשִׂמְחָ֑הsim.ChahH8057in the Lordבַּֽיהוָ֖הba.Yah.wehH3068, And theneedyוְאֶבְיוֹנֵ֣יve.'ev.yo.NeiH34of mankindאָדָ֔ם'a.DamH120will rejoiceיָגִֽילוּ׃ya.Gi.luH1523in the Holyבִּקְד֥וֹשׁbik.Do.oshH6918OneH6918of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478.
