The Suffering Servant

1Whoמִ֥יmiH4310has believedהֶאֱמִ֖יןhe.'e.MinH539our reportלִשְׁמֻעָתֵ֑נוּlish.mu.'a.Te.nuH8052?And to whomמִ֥יmiH4310has the armוּזְר֥וֹעַu.ze.Ro.a'H2220of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068been revealedנִגְלָֽתָה׃nig.La.tahH1540?

2For He grewH5927upH5927beforeלְפָנָ֗יוle.fa.NavH6440Him like atenderH3126shootH3126,And like a rootוְכַשֹּׁ֙רֶשׁ֙ve.kha.Sho.reshH8328out of dryצִיָּ֔הtzi.YahH6723groundמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776; He hasnoH3808statelyformתֹ֥אַרTo.'arH8389or majestyהָדָ֑רha.DarH1926That we would lookוְנִרְאֵ֥הוּve.nir.'E.huH7200at Him,NorH3808an appearanceמַרְאֶ֖הmar.'EhH4758that we would takeH2530pleasureH2530in Him.

3He wasdespisedנִבְזֶה֙niv.ZehH959and abandonedוַחֲדַ֣לva.cha.DalH2310by menאִישִׁ֔ים'i.ShimH376,A manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376ofgreat painמַכְאֹב֖וֹתmakh.'o.VotH4341andfamiliarוִיד֣וּעַvi.Du.a'H3045with sicknessחֹ֑לִיCho.liH2483; And like one from whom peoplehideוּכְמַסְתֵּ֤רu.khe.mas.TerH4564their facesפָּנִים֙pa.NimH6440, He wasdespisedנִבְזֶ֖הniv.ZehH959, and we had noregardחֲשַׁבְנֻֽהוּ׃cha.shav.Nu.huH2803for Him.

4Howeverאָכֵ֤ן'a.KhenH403, it wasour sicknessesחֳלָיֵ֙נוּ֙cho.la.Ye.nuH2483thatHe Himselfה֣וּאhu'H1931boreנָשָׂ֔אna.Sa'H5375,And our painsוּמַכְאֹבֵ֖ינוּu.makh.'o.Vei.nuH4341thatHe carriedסְבָלָ֑םse.va.LamH5445;Yet we ourselvesוַאֲנַ֣חְנוּva.'a.Nach.nuH587assumedחֲשַׁבְנֻ֔הוּcha.shav.Nu.huH2803that He had been afflictedנָג֛וּעַna.Gu.a'H5060,StruckH5221downH5221byGodאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430,and humiliatedוּמְעֻנֶּֽה׃u.me.'u.NehH6031.

5But He waspiercedמְחֹלָ֣לme.cho.LalH2490forour offensesמִפְּשָׁעֵ֔נוּmi.pe.sha.'E.nuH6588,He was crushedמְדֻכָּ֖אme.du.Ka'H1792forour wrongdoingsמֵעֲוֹנֹתֵ֑ינוּme.'a.vo.no.Tei.nuH5771; Thepunishmentמוּסַ֤רmu.SarH4148for ourwell-beingשְׁלוֹמֵ֙נוּ֙she.lo.Me.nuH7965was laid upon Him, And byHis woundsוּבַחֲבֻרָת֖וֹu.va.cha.vu.ra.ToH2250we are healedנִרְפָּא־nir.pa'-H7495.

6Allכֻּלָּ֙נוּ֙ku.La.nuH3605of us, like sheepכַּצֹּ֣אןka.TzonH6629,have goneH8582astrayתָּעִ֔ינוּta.'I.nuH8582,Eachאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of us has turnedפָּנִ֑ינוּpa.Ni.nuH6437to his own wayלְדַרְכּ֖וֹle.dar.KoH1870;But the Lordוַֽיהוָה֙va.Yah.wehH3068has caused the wrongdoingעֲוֹ֥ן'a.VonH5771of us allכֻּלָּֽנוּ׃ku.La.nuH3605Tofallהִפְגִּ֣יעַhif.Gi.a'H6293on Him.

7He was oppressedנִגַּ֨שׂni.GasH5065and afflictedנַעֲנֶה֮na.'a.NehH6031, Yet He did notopenיִפְתַּח־yif.tach-H6605His mouthפִּיו֒pivH6310;Like a lambכַּשֶּׂה֙ka.SehH7716that is ledיוּבָ֔לyu.ValH2986to slaughterלַטֶּ֣בַחla.Te.vachH2874,And like a sheepוּכְרָחֵ֕לu.khe.ra.ChelH7353that isH481silentH481beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440its shearersגֹזְזֶ֖יהָgo.ze.Zei.haH1494,So He did not openיִפְתַּ֖חyif.TachH6605His mouthפִּֽיו׃PivH6310.

8By oppressionמֵעֹ֤צֶרme.'O.tzerH6115and judgmentוּמִמִּשְׁפָּט֙u.mi.mish.PatH4941He was takenלֻקָּ֔חlu.KachH3947away;And as for His generationדּוֹר֖וֹdo.RoH1755,whoמִ֣יmiH4310consideredיְשׂוֹחֵ֑חַye.so.Che.achH7878That He was cutנִגְזַר֙nig.ZarH1504offH1504from the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of thelivingחַיִּ֔יםchai.YimH2416For the wrongdoingמִפֶּ֥שַׁעmi.Pe.sha'H6588of my peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971,to whom the blowנֶ֥גַעNe.ga'H5061was due?

9And His graveקִבְר֔וֹkiv.RoH6913was assignedוַיִּתֵּ֤ןvai.yi.TenH5414with wickedרְשָׁעִים֙re.sha.'ImH7563menH7563, Yet He was with arichעָשִׁ֖יר'a.ShirH6223manH6223in His deathבְּמֹתָ֑יוbe.mo.TavH4194,Becauseעַ֚ל'alH5921He haddoneעָשָׂ֔ה'a.SahH6213noלֹא־lo'-H3808violenceחָמָ֣סcha.MasH2555,Norוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808was there any deceitמִרְמָ֖הmir.MahH4820in His mouthבְּפִֽיו׃be.FivH6310.

10But the Lordוַיהוָ֞הva.Yah.wehH3068desiredחָפֵ֤ץcha.FetzH2654Tocrushדַּכְּאוֹ֙da.ke.'OH1792Him,causingH2470HimgriefH2470;Ifאִם־'im-H518He rendersתָּשִׂ֤יםta.SimH7760Himselfנַפְשׁ֔וֹnaf.ShoH5315asa guiltאָשָׁם֙'a.ShamH817offeringH817,He will seeיִרְאֶ֥הyir.'EhH7200Hisoffspringזֶ֖רַעZe.ra'H2233,He will prolongיַאֲרִ֣יךְya.'a.RikhH748Hisdaysיָמִ֑יםya.MimH3117, And thegoodH2656pleasureוְחֵ֥פֶץve.Che.fetzH2656of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068will prosperיִצְלָֽח׃yitz.LachH6743in His handבְּיָד֥וֹbe.ya.DoH3027.

11As a resultH4480of theanguishמֵעֲמַ֤לme.'a.MalH5999of His soulנַפְשׁוֹ֙naf.ShoH5315, He willseeיִרְאֶ֣הyir.'EhH7200it andbeH7646satisfiedH7646; By Hisknowledgeבְּדַעְתּ֗וֹbe.da'.ToH1847the Righteousצַדִּ֛יקtza.DikH6662OneH6662,My Servantעַבְדִּ֖י'av.DiH5650,will justifyיַצְדִּ֥יקyatz.DikH6663the manyלָֽרַבִּ֑יםla.ra.BimH7227, For He willbearיִסְבֹּֽל׃yis.BolH5445their wrongdoingsוַעֲוֹנֹתָ֖םva.'a.vo.no.TamH5771.

12Thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651,I will allotH2505Him aH2505portionH2505with the greatבָרַבִּ֗יםva.ra.BimH7227,And He will divideH2505the plunderשָׁלָל֒sha.LalH7998with the strongעֲצוּמִים֮'a.tzu.MimH6099,Becauseתַּ֗חַת אֲשֶׁ֨רTa.chat 'a.SherH8478 H834He pouredהֶעֱרָ֤הhe.'e.RahH6168outH6168Hislifeנַפְשׁ֔וֹnaf.ShoH5315unto deathלַמָּ֙וֶת֙la.Ma.vetH4194, And wascountedנִמְנָ֑הnim.NahH4487with wrongdoersפֹּשְׁעִ֖יםpo.she.'ImH6586;Yet He Himselfוְהוּא֙ve.Hu'H1931boreנָשָׂ֔אna.Sa'H5375the sinחֵטְא־chet'-H2399of manyרַבִּ֣יםra.BimH7227,And intercededיַפְגִּֽיעַ׃ סyaf.Gi.a'H6293for the wrongdoersוְלַפֹּשְׁעִ֖יםve.la.po.she.'ImH6586.
