18For you have not comeπροσεληλύθατεproselēluthateG4334to a mountainthat can be touchedψηλαφωμένῳpsēlaphōmenōG5584and to a blazingκεκαυμένῳkekaumenōG2545fireπυρὶpuriG4442,and to darknessγνόφῳgnophōG1105and gloomζόφῳzophōG2217and whirlwindθυέλλῃthuellēG2366,

19and to theblastἤχῳēchōG2279of a trumpetσάλπιγγοςsalpingosG4536and thesoundφωνῇphōnēaG5456of wordsῥημάτων,rhēmatōnG4487,whichἧςhēsG3739sound was such thatthoseοἱhoiG3588who heardἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191beggedπαρῃτήσαντοparētēsantoG3868that noμὴmēG3361furtherG4369wordλόγον·logonG3056be spokenG4369to them.

20For they could notcopeG5342withG5342the commandδιαστελλόμενον·diastellomenonG1291, “IfG2579evenG2579an animalθηρίονthērionG2342touchesθίγῃthigēG2345the mountainὄρους,orousG3735,it shall be stonedλιθοβοληθήσεταιlithobolēthēsetaiG3036.”

21And soοὕτωhoutōG3779terribleφοβερὸνphoberonG5398was the sightφανταζόμενον,phantazomenonG5324, thatMosesΜωϋσῆςMōusēsG3475saidG3004, “I amG1510terrifiedἔκφοβόςekphobosG1630and tremblingἔντρομος·entromosG1790.”

22Butyou have comeπροσεληλύθατεproselēluthateG4334to MountὄρειoreiG3735ZionΣιὼνSiōnG4622and tothe cityπόλειpoleiG4172ofthe livingζῶντος,zōntosG2198GodθεοῦtheouG2316,the heavenlyἐπουρανίῳepouraniōG2032JerusalemἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēmG2419, and tomyriadsμυριάσινmuriasinG3461ofangelsἀγγέλωνangelōnG32,

24and to JesusἸησοῦIēsouG2424, themediatorμεσίτῃmesitēG3316of a newνέαςneasG3501covenantδιαθήκηςdiathēkēsG1242, and to thesprinkledῥαντισμοῦrhantismouG4473bloodαἵματιaimatiG129,which speaksλαλοῦντιlalountiG2980betterG2909thanπαρὰparaG3844the bloodof AbelἍβελ.¶HabelG6.

25SeeΒλέπετεBlepeteG991to it that you do not refuseπαραιτήσησθεparaitēsēstheG3868Him who isspeakingλαλοῦντα·lalountaG2980. ForifεἰeiG1487thoseἐκεῖνοιekeinoiG1565did not escapeἐξέφυγονexephugonG1628when theyrefusedπαραιτησάμενοιparaitēsamenoiG3868him whowarnedχρηματίζοντα,chrēmatizontaG5537themon earthγῆςgēsG1093,muchπολὺpoluG4183lessμᾶλλονmallonG3123will we escapewho turnG654awayἀποστρεφόμενοι,apostrephomenoiG654from Him who warns usfrom heavenοὐρανῶνouranōnG3772.

26AndHis voiceφωνὴphōnēG5456shookἐσάλευσενesaleusenG4531the earthγῆνgēnG1093thenτότε,toteG5119,but nowνῦνnunG3568He has promisedἐπήγγελταιepēngeltaiG1861,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “YetἔτιetiG2089onceἅπαξhapaxG530moreG530I will shakeσείσωseisōG4579not onlyG3440the earthγῆνgēnG1093,but alsoκαὶkaiG2532the heavenοὐρανόν.ouranonG3772.”

27ThisG3588expression, “YetἔτιetiG2089onceἅπαξ,hapaxG530moreG530,”denotesδηλοῖdēloiG1213the removingμετάθεσινmetathesinG3331of thoseG3588things which can be shakenσαλευομένωνsaleuomenōnG4531,as of createdG4160thingsG4160,soἵναinaG2443thatG2443thoseG3588things which cannotμὴmēG3361be shakenσαλευόμενα.saleuomenaG4531may remainμείνῃmeinēG3306.

28ThereforeδιὸdioG1352,since we receiveπαραλαμβάνοντεςparalambanontesG3880akingdomβασιλείανbasileianG932which cannotG761beG761shakenG761, let’sshowἔχωμενechōmenG2192gratitudeχάρινcharinG5485,by whichἧςhēsG3739we mayofferG3000to GodθεῷtheōG2316an acceptableεὐαρέστωςeuarestōsG2102serviceG3000with reverenceεὐλαβείαςeulabeiasG2124and aweG1190;
