2I askδέομαιdeomaiG1189thatwhen I am presentπαρὼνparōnG3918I neednot be boldθαρρῆσαιtharrēsaiG2292with the confidenceπεποιθήσειpepoithēseiG4006with whichᾗhēG3739I intendλογίζομαιlogizomaiG3049to beG5111courageousG5111againstἐπίepiG1909someτιναςtinasG5100,who regardλογιζομένουςlogizomenousG3049us as ifὡςhōsG5613we walkedπεριπατοῦντας.peripatountasG4043accordingκατὰkataG2596to the fleshσάρκαsarkaG4561.

4for theweaponsὅπλαhoplaG3696of our warfareστρατείαςstrateiasG4752are not of the fleshσαρκικὰsarkikaG4559, butdivinelyθεῷtheōG2316powerfulδυνατὰdunataG1415for the destructionκαθαίρεσινkathairesinG2506of fortressesὀχυρωμάτων,ochurōmatōnG3794.

8For ifἐάνeanG1437I boastκαυχήσωμαιkauchēsōmaiG2744somewhatτιtiG5100moreG4053aboutπερὶperiG4012ourauthorityἐξουσίαςexousiasG1849,whichἧςhēsG3739the LordκύριοςkuriosG2962gaveἔδωκενedōkenG1325for buildingοἰκοδομὴνoikodomēnG3619you upG3619and not for destroyingκαθαίρεσινkathairesinG2506you, I will not be putG153toG153shameG153,

9for I do not want to seemδόξωdoxōG1380as ifἂνanG302I would terrifyἐκφοβεῖνekphobeinG1629you by my lettersἐπιστολῶν.epistolōnG1992.

10For they sayφησινphēsinG5346, “His lettersἐπιστολαὶepistolaiG1992are weightyβαρεῖαιbareiaiG926and strongἰσχυραί,ischuraiG2478, but hispersonalσώματοςsōmatosG4983presenceπαρουσίαparousiaG3952isunimpressiveἀσθενὴςasthenēsG772andhis speechλόγοςlogosG3056contemptibleἐξουθενημένος.exouthenēmenosG1848.”

13But we will not boastκαυχησόμεθαkauchēsomethaG2744beyondεἰςeisG1519 G280ourmeasureἄμετραametraG280, butwithinκατὰkataG2596the measureμέτρονmetronG3358of thedomainκανόνοςkanonosG2583whichοὗhouG3739GodθεὸςtheosG2316assignedἐμέρισενemerisenG3307to us as a measureμέτρουmetrouG3358,to reachἐφικέσθαιephikesthaiG2185evenκαὶkaiG2532as farἄχριachriG891as you.

14For we are not overextendingὑπερεκτείνομενhuperekteinomenG5239ourselvesἑαυτούς·he'autousG1438,as ifὡςhōsG5613we did not reachἐφικνούμενοιephiknoumenoiG2185to you, forwe were the firstG5348toG5348comeG5348evenκαὶkaiG2532as farἄχριachriG891as you in thegospelεὐαγγελίῳeuangeliōG2098of ChristΧριστοῦ·ChristouG5547;

15not boastingκαυχώμενοιkauchōmenoiG2744beyondεἰςeisG1519 G280ourmeasureἄμετραametraG280, that is, inotherἀλλοτρίοιςallotrioisG245people’sG245laborsκόποις,kopoisG2873,but with the hopeἐλπίδαelpidaG1680that asyour faithπίστεωςpisteōsG4102growsαὐξανομένηςauxanomenēsG837, we will be,withinκατὰkataG2596ourdomainκανόναkanonaG2583,enlargedμεγαλυνθῆναιmegalunthēnaiG3170evenεἰςeisG1519moreπερισσείαν,perisseianG4050by you,

16soG1519as topreachG2097the gospelG2097even tothe regionsG5238beyondG5238you, andnot to boastκαυχήσασθαι.kauchēsasthaiG2744in whatG2092has been accomplishedG2092in the domainκανόνιkanoniG2583of anotherἀλλοτρίῳallotriōG245.

17Butthe one who boastsκαυχώμενοςkauchōmenosG2744is to boastκαυχάσθω·kauchasthōG2744in the LordκυρίῳkuriōG2962.

18For it is not the one whocommendsσυνιστάνων,sunistanōnG4921himselfἑαυτὸνhe'autonG1438that is approvedδόκιμος,dokimosG1384, but the onewhomὃνhonG3739the LordκύριοςkuriosG2962commendsσυνίστησιν.¶sunistēsinG4921.
