19and he tookλαβὼνlabōnG2983foodτροφὴνtrophēnG5160and was strengthenedἐνίσχυσεν.¶enischusenG1765.NowδὲdeG1161for severalτινάς·tinasG5100daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250he was withthe disciplesμαθητῶνmathētōnG3101who were at DamascusΔαμασκῷDamaskōG1154,

20and immediatelyεὐθέωςeutheōsG2112he beganto proclaimἐκήρυσσενekērussenG2784JesusἸησοῦν,IēsounG2424in the synagoguesσυναγωγαῖςsunagōgaisG4864,sayingὅτιhotiG3754, “He isthe SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of Godθεοῦ.¶theouG2316.”

21AllπάντεςpantesG3956thoseG3588hearingἀκούοντεςakouontesG191him continued to be amazedἐξίσταντοexistantoG1839,and were sayingἔλεγον·elegonG3004, “Is thisG3778not he who in JerusalemἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēmG2419destroyedπορθήσαςporthēsasG4199thoseG3588whocalledἐπικαλουμένουςepikaloumenousG1941on thisG3778nameὄνομαonomaG3686, and whohad comeἐληλύθειelēlutheiG2064hereὧδεhōdeG5602for the purpose of bringingἀγάγῃagagēG71them boundδεδεμένουςdedemenousG1210beforeἐπὶepiG1909the chiefἀρχιερεῖς.¶archiereisG749priestsG749?”

22But SaulΣαῦλοςSaulosG4569kept increasingG1743in strengthG1743and confoundingσυνέχυννενsunechunnenG4797the JewsἸουδαίουςIoudaiousG2453who livedκατοικοῦνταςkatoikountasG2730at DamascusΔαμασκῷ,DamaskōG1154by provingσυμβιβάζωνsumbibazōnG4822that thisοὗτόςhoutosG3778Jesus is theChristχριστός.christosG5547.

23WhenὡςhōsG5613manyἱκαναί,hikanaiG2425daysἡμέραιhēmeraiG2250had elapsedἐπληροῦντοeplērountoG4137,the JewsἸουδαῖοιIoudaioiG2453plottedG4823togetherσυνεβουλεύσαντοsunebouleusantoG4823to doG337awayG337with him,

24buttheir plotἐπιβουλὴepiboulēG1917became knownἐγνώσθηegnōsthēG1097to SaulΣαύλῳSaulōG4569.They were alsoG2532watchingπαρετηροῦντοparetērountoG3906the gatesπύλαςpulasG4439dayἡμέραςhēmerasG2250and nightνυκτός,nuktosG3571soὅπωςhopōsG3704that they might putG337him to deathG337;

25but his disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101tookλαβόντεςlabontesG2983him by nightνυκτὸςnuktosG3571and letG2524him downκαθῆκανkathēkanG2524throughδιὰdiaG1223an opening inthe wallτείχουςteichousG5038,loweringχαλάσαντεςchalasantesG2524 G5465him in a largeG4711basketG4711.

26When he cameΠαραγενόμενοςParagenomenosG3854to JerusalemἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēmG2419,he was tryingἐπείραζενepeirazenG3985to associateκολλᾶσθαιkollasthaiG2853with the disciplesμαθηταῖς·mathētaisG3101;but they were allπάντεςpantesG3956afraidἐφοβοῦντοephobountoG5399of him, not believingπιστεύοντεςpisteuontesG4100that he was a discipleμαθητής.mathētēsG3101.

27ButBarnabasΒαρναβᾶςBarnabasG921tookG1949holdG1949of him and broughtἤγαγενēgagenG71him to the apostlesἀποστόλουςapostolousG652and describedδιηγήσατοdiēgēsatoG1334to them howπῶςpōsG4459he hadseenG3708the LordκύριονkurionG2962on the roadὁδῷhodōG3598,and that He had talkedἐλάλησενelalēsenG2980to him, and howπῶςpōsG4459at DamascusΔαμασκῷDamaskōG1154he hadspokenἐπαρρησιάσατοeparrēsiasatoG3955out boldlyG3955in the nameὀνόματιonomatiG3686of JesusἸησοῦ.IēsouG2424.

29And he was talkingἐλάλειelaleiG2980and arguingσυνεζήτειsunezēteiG4802with theHellenisticἙλληνιστάς·HellēnistasG1675Jews;but they were attemptingἐπεχείρουνepecheirounG2021to putG337him to deathG337.

30But whenthe brethrenἀδελφοὶadelphoiG80learnedἐπιγνόντεςepignontesG1921of it,they broughtG2609him downκατήγαγονkatēgagonG2609toCaesareaΚαισάρειανKaisareianG2542andsentG1821him awayἐξαπέστειλανexapesteilanG1821toTarsusΤαρσόν.¶TarsonG5019.

34PeterΠέτρος·PetrosG4074saidG3004to him, “AeneasΑἰνέα,AineaG132,JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424ChristΧριστός·ChristosG5547healsἰᾶταίiataiG2390you; getἀνάστηθιanastēthiG450up and makeG4766your bedG4766.”ImmediatelyεὐθέωςeutheōsG2112he gotἀνέστη·anestēG450up.

35And allπάντεςpantesG3956who livedκατοικοῦντεςkatoikountesG2730atLyddaΛύδδαLuddaG3069andSharonΣαρῶνα,SarōnaG4565sawG3708him, and theyturnedἐπέστρεψανepestrepsanG1994to the Lordκύριον.¶kurionG2962.

36NowδέdeG1161inJoppaἸόππῃIoppēG2445there was a discipleμαθήτριαmathētriaG3102namedὀνόματιonomatiG3686TabithaΤαβιθά,TabithaG5000(whichἣhēG3739translatedδιερμηνευομένηdiermēneuomenēG1329in Greekis calledλέγεταιlegetaiG3004DorcasΔορκάς·DorkasG1393);thisG3778womanG3778was aboundingπλήρηςplērēsG4134with deedsἔργωνergōnG2041of kindnessἀγαθῶνagathōnG18and charityἐλεημοσυνῶνeleēmosunōnG1654whichὧνhōnG3739she continually didἐποίει·epoieiG4160.

37And it happenedἐγένετοegenetoG1096at that timeἡμέραιςhēmeraisG2250that she fellG770sickἀσθενήσασανasthenēsasanG770and diedἀποθανεῖν·apothaneinG599;and when they had washedλούσαντεςlousantesG3068her body, they laidἔθηκανethēkanG5087it in anupperὑπερῴῳ.huperōōG5253roomG5253.

38Since LyddaΛύδδαςLuddasG3069was nearἐγγὺςengusG1451JoppaἸόππῃIoppēG2445,the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101,having heardἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191that PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074was thereἐνenG1722 G846,sentἀπέστειλανapesteilanG649twoδύοduoG1417menἄνδραςandrasG435to him, imploringπαρακαλοῦντες·parakalountesG3870him, “Do not delayὀκνήσῃςoknēsēsG3635in comingδιελθεῖνdieltheinG1330to us.”

41And he gaveδοὺςdousG1325her his handχεῖραcheiraG5495and raisedἀνέστησενanestēsenG450her up; and callingφωνήσαςphōnēsasG5455thesaintsἁγίουςhagiousG40andwidowsχήραςchērasG5503,he presentedπαρέστησενparestēsenG3936her aliveζῶσαν.zōsanG2198.

42It becameἐγένετοegenetoG1096knownγνωστὸνgnōstonG1110allὅληςholēsG3650overκαθ᾽kath᾽G2596JoppaἸόππης,IoppēsG2445, andmanyπολλοὶpolloiG4183believedἐπίστευσανepisteusanG4100in the Lordκύριον.kurionG2962.

43And Peter stayedμεῖναιmeinaiG3306manyἱκανὰςhikanasG2425daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250inJoppaἸόππῃIoppēG2445witha tannerβυρσεῖ.¶burseiG1038namedSimonΣίμωνιSimōniG4613.
