Numbers 11

1And it came to pass that when the peopleH5971 murmured, it wasH1961 evilH7451 in the earsH241 of Jehovah; and Jehovah heardH8085 it, and his angerH639 wasH1961 kindled, and the fireH784 of Jehovah burnedH2734 among them, and consumedH398 [some] in the extremity of the campH4264. 2And the peopleH5971 criedH6817 to MosesH4872; and MosesH4872 prayedH6419 to Jehovah — and the fireH784 abated. 3And they calledH7121 the nameH8034 of that placeH4725 TaberahH8404; because a fireH784 of Jehovah burnedH1197 among them. 4And the mixed multitude that was among them lusted; and the children of IsraelH3478 alsoH1571 weptH1058 again and saidH559, Who will give us fleshH1320 to eatH398? 5We rememberH2142 the fishH1710 that we ateH398 in EgyptH4714 for nothingH2600; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic; 6and nowH6258 our soulH5315 is driedH3002 up: there is nothingH369 at all but the mannaH4478 before our eyesH5869. 7And the mannaH4478 was as corianderH1407 seedH2233, and its appearanceH5869 as the appearanceH5869 of bdelliumH916. 8The peopleH5971 went about, and gatheredH3950 it, and groundH2912 it with hand-mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiledH1310 it in pots, and madeH6213 cakesH5692 of it; and the tasteH2940 of it wasH1961 as the tasteH2940 of oil-cakes. 9And when the dewH2919 fell upon the campH4264 by nightH3915, the mannaH4478 fell upon it. 10And MosesH4872 heardH8085 the peopleH5971 weepH1058 throughout their familiesH4940, every oneH376 at the entranceH6607 of his tentH168; and the angerH639 of Jehovah was kindled greatly; it was also evilH7489 in the eyesH5869 of MosesH4872. 11And MosesH4872 saidH559 to Jehovah, WhyH4100 hast thou done evilH7489 to thy servantH5650, and whyH4100 have I not foundH4672 favour in thine eyesH5869, that thou layest the burdenH4853 of all this peopleH5971 upon me? 12Have I conceivedH2029 all this peopleH5971, have I broughtH3205 them forthH3205, that thou sayest to me, CarryH5375 them in thy bosomH2436, as the nursing-father beareth the suckling, unto the landH127 which thou didst swearH7650 unto their fathersH1? 13Whence should I have fleshH1320 to giveH5414 unto all this peopleH5971? for they weepH1058 unto me, sayingH559, GiveH5414 us fleshH1320 that we may eatH398! 14I am not ableH3201 to bearH5375 all this peopleH5971 aloneH905, for it is too heavyH3515 for me. 15And if thou deal thusH3602 with me, slayH2026 me, I pray thee, if I have foundH4672 favour in thine eyesH5869, that I may not behold my wretchedness. 16And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872, GatherH622 unto me seventyH7657 menH376 of the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478, whom thou knowest to be the eldersH2205 of the peopleH5971, and their officersH7860; and takeH3947 them to the tentH168 of meetingH4150, and they shall standH3320 there with thee. 17And I will comeH3381 downH3381 and talk with thee there; and I will takeH5375 of the SpiritH7307 which is upon thee, and will putH7760 it upon them; and they shall bearH5375 the burdenH4853 of the peopleH5971 with thee, and thou shalt not bearH5375 it aloneH905. 18And unto the peopleH5971 shalt thou sayH559, Hallow yourselves for to-morrow, and ye shall eatH398 fleshH1320; for ye have weptH1058 in the earsH241 of Jehovah, sayingH559, Who will giveH5414 us fleshH1320 to eatH398? for it was wellH2895 with us in EgyptH4714; and Jehovah will giveH5414 you fleshH1320, and ye shall eatH398. 19Not oneH259 dayH3117 shall ye eatH398, nor two daysH3117, nor fiveH2568 daysH3117, neither tenH6235 daysH3117, nor twentyH6242 daysH3117; 20[but] for a whole monthH2320, until it come out at your nostrilsH639, and it becomeH1961 loathsome unto you; because that ye have despised Jehovah who is among you, and have weptH1058 before him, sayingH559, WhyH4100 came we forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714? 21And MosesH4872 saidH559, The peopleH5971 in whose midstH7130 I am are sixH8337 hundredH3967 thousandH505 footmen; and thou sayest, I will giveH5414 them fleshH1320 that they may eatH398 a whole monthH2320. 22Shall flocksH6629 and herdsH1241 be slaughteredH7819 for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fishH1709 of the seaH3220 be gatheredH622 for them, to suffice them? 23And Jehovah saidH559 to MosesH4872, Hath Jehovah's handH3027 become short? NowH6258 shalt thou seeH7200 whether my wordH1697 will come to pass unto thee or not. 24And MosesH4872 wentH3318 out and told the peopleH5971 the wordsH1697 of Jehovah; and he gatheredH622 the seventyH7657 menH376 of the eldersH2205 of the peopleH5971, and setH5975 them roundH5439 about the tentH168. 25And Jehovah came downH3381 in a cloudH6051, and spokeH1696 to him, and took of the SpiritH7307 that wasH1961 upon him, and putH5414 it upon the seventyH7657 menH376, the eldersH2205; and it came to pass, that when the SpiritH7307 restedH5117 on them, they prophesiedH5012, but they did not repeat [it]. 26And twoH8147 menH376 remainedH7604 in the campH4264, the nameH8034 of the oneH259, EldadH419, and the nameH8034 of the other, MedadH4312; and the SpiritH7307 restedH5117 upon them (and they were among them that were writtenH3789, but they had not goneH3318 out to the tentH168); and they prophesiedH5012 in the campH4264. 27And there ranH7323 a youthH5288, and toldH5046 MosesH4872, and saidH559, EldadH419 and MedadH4312 are prophesyingH5012 in the campH4264. 28And JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126, the attendant of MosesH4872, one of his youngH1121 men, answered and saidH559, My lordH113 MosesH4872, forbid them! 29But MosesH4872 saidH559 to him, Enviest thou for my sake? would that all Jehovah's peopleH5971 were prophetsH5030, [and] that Jehovah would putH5414 his SpiritH7307 upon them! 30And MosesH4872 withdrewH622 into the campH4264, he and the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478. 31And there went forth a windH7307 from Jehovah, and drove quailsH7958 from the seaH3220, and cast them about the campH4264, about a day's journeyH1870 on this side, and about a day's journeyH1870 on the other side, roundH5439 about the campH4264, and about two cubitsH520 above the earthH776. 32And the peopleH5971 roseH6965 up all that dayH3117, and the whole nightH3915, and all the nextH4283 dayH3117, and they gatheredH622 the quailsH7958: he that gatheredH622 littleH4591 gatheredH622 tenH6235 homersH2563; and they spreadH7849 them abroad for themselves roundH5439 about the campH4264. 33The fleshH1320 was yetH5750 between their teethH8127, before it was chewed, when the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against the peopleH5971, and Jehovah smote the peopleH5971 with a veryH3966 great plagueH4347. 34And they calledH7121 the nameH8034 of that placeH4725 Kibroth-hattaavahH6914; because there they buriedH6912 the peopleH5971 who lusted. 35From Kibroth-hattaavahH6914 the peopleH5971 journeyed to HazerothH2698; and they wereH1961 at HazerothH2698.
