Numbers 16
1And KorahH7141, the sonH1121 of IzharH3324, the sonH1121 of KohathH6955, the sonH1121 of LeviH3878, made bold, and [with him] DathanH1885 and AbiramH48, the sonsH1121 of EliabH446, and On, the sonH1121 of PelethH6431, the sonsH1121 of ReubenH7205; 2and they roseH6965 up against MosesH4872, with twoH3967 hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 menH376 of the children of IsraelH3478, princesH5387 of the assemblyH5712, summoned to the council, menH376 of renown; 3and they gathered themselves together against MosesH4872 and against AaronH175, and saidH559 to them, It is enoughH7227; for all the assemblyH6951, all of them are holyH6918, and Jehovah is among them; and whyH4069 do ye liftH5375 up yourselves above the congregationH5712 of Jehovah? 4When MosesH4872 heardH8085 this, he fellH5307 on his faceH6440. 5And he spokeH1696 to KorahH7141 and to all his band, sayingH559, Even to-morrow will Jehovah makeH3045 knownH3045 who is his, and who is holyH6918; and he will cause him to come near to him; and him whom he has chosenH977, him will he cause to come near to him. 6This do: takeH3947 you censersH4289, KorahH7141, and all his band, 7and putH5414 fireH784 therein, and lay incenseH7004 thereon before Jehovah to-morrow; and it shall beH1961 that the manH376 whom Jehovah doth chooseH977, he shall beH1961 holyH6918. It is enoughH7227, ye sonsH1121 of LeviH3878! 8And MosesH4872 saidH559 to KorahH7141, HearH8085, I pray you, ye sonsH1121 of LeviH3878! 9Is it too littleH4592 for you, that the 1GodH430 of IsraelH3478 has separatedH914 you from the assemblyH5712 of IsraelH3478, to bringH7126 you near to himself to do the workH5656 of the tabernacleH4908 of Jehovah, and to standH5975 before the assemblyH5712 to minister to them? 10— that he has broughtH7126 thee near, and all thy brethren the sonsH1121 of LeviH3878 with thee; and seekH1245 ye now the priesthoodH3550 alsoH1571? 11For which cause thou and all thy band are banded togetherH3259 against Jehovah; and AaronH175, who is he that ye murmur against him? 12And MosesH4872 sentH7971 to callH7121 DathanH1885 and AbiramH48, the sonsH1121 of EliabH446; but they saidH559, We will not comeH5927 up! 13Is it a smallH4592 thing that thou hast broughtH5927 us up out of a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706, to killH4191 us in the wildernessH4057, that thou must make thyself altogether a ruler over us? 14Moreover, thou hast not broughtH935 us into a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706, or givenH5414 us inheritanceH5159 of fieldsH7704 and vineyardsH3754: wilt thou putH5414 out the eyesH5869 of these menH376? we will not comeH935 up! 15Then MosesH4872 was veryH3966 wroth, and saidH559 to Jehovah, Have no regard to their oblation: not oneH259 ass have I takenH5375 from them, neither have I hurt oneH259 of them. 16And MosesH4872 saidH559 to KorahH7141, BeH1961 thou and all thy band before Jehovah, thou, and they, and AaronH175, to-morrow. 17And takeH3947 each his censerH4289, and putH5414 incenseH7004 thereon, and presentH7126 before Jehovah every manH376 his censerH4289, two hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 censersH4289; and thou, and AaronH175, each his censerH4289. 18And they tookH3947 each his censerH4289, and putH5414 fireH784 on them, and laid incenseH7004 thereon, and stoodH5975 before the entranceH6607 to the tentH168 of meetingH4150, as well as MosesH4872 and AaronH175. 19And KorahH7141 gathered the whole assemblyH5712 against them to the entranceH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150. And the gloryH3519 of Jehovah appearedH7200 to all the assemblyH5712. 20And Jehovah spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 and to AaronH175, sayingH559, 21SeparateH914 yourselves from the midstH8432 of this assemblyH5712, and I will consume them in a momentH7281. 22And they fellH5307 on their facesH6440, and saidH559, O 2GodH430, the 3GodH430 of the spiritsH7307 of all fleshH1320! shall oneH259 manH376 sinH2398, and wilt thou be wroth with the whole assemblyH5712? 23And Jehovah spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 24SpeakH1696 unto the assemblyH5712, sayingH559, Get you up from about the habitation of KorahH7141, DathanH1885, and AbiramH48. 25And MosesH4872 roseH6965 up and went to DathanH1885 and AbiramH48; and the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478 followed him. 26And he spokeH1696 to the assemblyH5712, sayingH559, DepartH5493, I pray you, from the tentsH168 of these wickedH7563 menH376, and touchH5060 nothing of theirs, lestH6435 ye perish in all their sinsH2403. 27And they got up from the habitation of Koran, DathanH1885, and AbiramH48, on every side. And DathanH1885 and AbiramH48 cameH3318 out, and stoodH5324 in the entranceH6607 of their tentsH168, and their wivesH802, and their sonsH1121, and their littleH2945 onesH2945. 28And MosesH4872 saidH559, Hereby ye shall knowH3045 that Jehovah has sentH7971 me to do all these deedsH4639, for they are not out of my own heartH3820: 29if these menH120 dieH4191 as all menH120 dieH4191, and are visitedH6485 with the visitation of all menH120, Jehovah has not sentH7971 me; 30but if Jehovah makeH3045 a new thing, and the groundH127 openH6475 its mouthH6310, and swallowH1104 them up, and all that they have, and they goH3381 down aliveH2416 into SheolH7585, then ye shall knowH3045 that these menH376 have despised Jehovah. 31And it came to pass when he had endedH3615 speakingH1696 all these wordsH1697, that the groundH127 clave apart that wasH1961 under them. 32And the earthH776 openedH6605 its mouthH6310, and swallowedH1104 them up, and their householdsH1004, and all the menH120 that belonged to KorahH7141, and all their propertyH7399. 33And they wentH3381 downH3381, they and all that they had, aliveH2416 into SheolH7585, and the earthH776 coveredH3680 them; and they perishedH6 from among the congregation. 34And all IsraelH3478 that were roundH5439 about them fledH5127 at their cry; for they saidH559, LestH6435 the earthH776 swallowH1104 us up! 35And there cameH3318 out a fireH784 from Jehovah, and consumedH398 the twoH3967 hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 menH376 that had presentedH7126 incenseH7004. 36And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 37Speak to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning; and scatter the fire afar; for they are hallowed, 38the censers of these sinners who have forfeited their life; and they shall make them into broad plates for the covering of the altar; for they presented them before Jehovah, therefore they are hallowed; and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel. 39And Eleazar the priest took the copper censers, which they that were burnt had presented; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar: 40as a memorial to the children of Israel, that no stranger who is not of the seed of Aaron come near to burn incense before Jehovah, that he be not as Korah, and as his band, — as Jehovah had said to him through Moses. 41And the whole assembly of the children of Israel murmured on the morrow against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of Jehovah. 42And it came to pass, when the assembly was gathered together against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tent of meeting, and behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of Jehovah appeared. 43And Moses and Aaron went before the tent of meeting. 44And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 45Get you up from the midst of this assembly, and I will consume them in a moment. And they fell on their faces. 46And Moses said to Aaron, Take the censer, and put fire thereon from off the altar, and lay on incense, and carry it quickly to the assembly, and make atonement for them; for there is wrath gone out from Jehovah: the plague is begun. 47And Aaron took as Moses had said, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and behold, the plague had begun among the people; and he put on incense, and made atonement for the people. 48And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed. 49Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, besides them that had died because of the matter of Korah. 50And Aaron returned to Moses to the entrance of the tent of meeting; and the plague was stayed.
