1And Jehovah spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 and to AaronH175, sayingH559, 2TakeH5375 the sum of the sonsH1121 of KohathH6955 from among the sonsH1121 of LeviH3881, after their familiesH4940, according to their fathers' housesH1004, 3from thirtyH7970 yearsH8141 old and upwardH4605 even unto fiftyH2572 yearsH8141 old, all that enter into the serviceH6635, to do the workH4399 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150. 4This shall be the serviceH5656 of the sonsH1121 of KohathH6955 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150: it is most holyH6944. 5And when the campH4264 setteth forward, AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 shall goH935 in, and they shall take down the veil of separation and coverH3680 the arkH727 of testimonyH5715 with it; 6and shall putH5414 thereon a coveringH3681 of badgers' skinH5785, and shall spreadH6566 over it a clothH899 wholly of blueH8504, and shall putH5414 its staves [to it]. 7And upon the tableH7979 of shewbread they shall spreadH6566 a clothH899 of blueH8504; and putH5414 thereon the dishesH7086, and the cups, and the bowlsH4518, and goblets of the drink-offering; and the continual breadH3899 shall beH1961 thereon. 8And they shall spreadH6566 upon them a clothH899 of scarletH8144, and coverH3680 it with a coveringH4372 of badgers' skinH5785, and shall putH7760 its staves [to it]. 9And they shall takeH3947 a clothH899 of blueH8504, and coverH3680 the candlestick of the lightH3974, and its lampsH5216, and its snuffers, and its snuff-trays, and all the oilH8081 vesselsH3627 thereof, wherewith they perform its service; 10and they shall putH5414 it and all the utensilsH3627 thereof within a coveringH4372 of badgers' skinH5785, and shall putH5414 it upon a pole. 11And upon the golden altarH4196 they shall spreadH6566 a clothH899 of blueH8504, and coverH3680 it with a coveringH4372 of badgers' skinH5785, and shall putH7760 its staves [to it]. 12And they shall takeH3947 all the instrumentsH3627 of service, wherewith they serveH8334 in the sanctuaryH6944, and putH5414 them in a clothH899 of blueH8504, and coverH3680 them with a coveringH4372 of badgers' skinH5785, and shall putH5414 them upon a pole. 13And they shall cleanse the altarH4196 of the ashesH1878, and spreadH6566 a purpleH713 clothH899 thereon; 14and they shall putH5414 upon it all the utensilsH3627 thereof, wherewith they perform service about it: the firepansH4289, the forks, and the shovelsH3257, and the bowlsH4219, — all the utensilsH3627 of the altarH4196; and they shall spreadH6566 upon it a coveringH3681 of badgers' skinH5785, and putH5414 its staves [to it]. 15And when AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 have endedH3615 coveringH3680 the sanctuaryH6944, and all the utensilsH3627 of the sanctuaryH6944, when the campH4264 setteth forward, then afterwards the sonsH1121 of KohathH6955 shall comeH935 to carryH5375 it; but they shall not touchH5060 the holyH6944 thingsH428, lest they dieH4191. This is what the sonsH1121 of KohathH6955 have to carryH5375 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150. 16And EleazarH499 the sonH1121 of AaronH175 the priestH3548 shall have the oversightH6486 of the oilH8081 for the lightH3974, and the fragrant incenseH7004, and the continual oblation, and the anointingH4888 oilH8081, — the oversightH6486 of the whole tabernacleH4908, and of all that is therein, over the sanctuaryH6944, and over its furniture. 17And Jehovah spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 and to AaronH175, sayingH559, 18Ye shall not cutH3772 off the familiesH4940 of the KohathitesH6956 from among the LevitesH3881, 19but this shall ye do unto them, that they may liveH2421, and not dieH4191, when they drawH5066 near unto the most holyH6944 thingsH6944: AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 shall goH935 in, and appointH7760 them every oneH376 to his serviceH5656 and to his burdenH4853; 20but they shall not goH935 in and seeH7200 for a moment the holyH6944 thingsH6944, lest they dieH4191. 21And Jehovah spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 22TakeH5375 alsoH1571 the sum of the sonsH1121 of GershonH1648, according to their fathers' housesH1004, after their familiesH4940. 23From thirtyH7970 yearsH8141 old and upwardH4605 to fiftyH2572 yearsH8141 old shalt thou number them; every one that cometh to labour in the workH5656, to perform the serviceH5656 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150. 24This shall be the serviceH5656 of the familiesH4940 of the Gershonites, in servingH5647, and in carrying: 25they shall carryH5375 the curtainsH3407 of the tabernacleH4908, and the tentH168 of meetingH4150, its coveringH4372, and the coveringH4372 of badgers' skin that is above upon it, and the curtainH3407 of the entranceH6607 to the tentH168 of meetingH4150, 26and the hangings of the courtH2691, and the curtain of the entranceH6607, of the gateH8179 of the courtH2691, which surroundeth the tabernacleH4908 and the altarH4196, and the cordsH4340 thereof, and all the instrumentsH3627 of their serviceH5656; and all that is to be done for these things shall they perform. 27At the commandment of AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 shall beH1961 all the serviceH5656 of the sonsH1121 of the Gershonites, in all their carrying, and in all their serviceH5656; and ye shall appointH6485 unto them in chargeH4931 all their carrying. 28This is the serviceH5656 of the familiesH4940 of the sonsH1121 of Gershon in the tentH168 of meetingH4150, and their chargeH4931 shall be under the handH3027 of IthamarH385 the sonH1121 of AaronH175 the priestH3548. 29The sonsH1121 of MerariH4847: after their familiesH4940, according to their fathers' housesH1004 shalt thou number them; 30from thirtyH7970 yearsH8141 old and upwardH4605 even to fiftyH2572 yearsH8141 old shalt thou number them, every one that entereth into the labour, to perform the serviceH5656 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150. 31And this shall be the chargeH4931 of their burdenH4853, according to all their serviceH5656 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150: the boards of the tabernacleH4908, and the barsH1280 thereof, and the pillarsH5982 thereof, and bases thereof, 32and the pillarsH5982 of the courtH2691 roundH5439 about, and their bases, and their pegsH3489, and their cordsH4340, all their instrumentsH3627, according to all their serviceH5656; and by nameH8034 ye shall number to them the materials which are their chargeH4931 to carryH4853. 33This is the serviceH5656 of the familiesH4940 of the sonsH1121 of MerariH4847, according to all their serviceH5656 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150, under the handH3027 of IthamarH385 the sonH1121 of AaronH175 the priestH3548. 34And MosesH4872 and AaronH175 and the princesH5387 of the assemblyH5712 numbered the sonsH1121 of the KohathitesH6956 after their familiesH4940, and according to their fathers' housesH1004, 35from thirtyH7970 yearsH8141 old and upwardH4605 even to fiftyH2572 yearsH8141 old, every one that entered into the labour, for serviceH5656 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150. 36And those that wereH1961 numbered of them according to their familiesH4940 wereH1961 twoH3967 thousandH505 sevenH7651 hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572. 37These are they that were numbered of the familiesH4940 of the KohathitesH6956, every one that servedH5647 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150, whom MosesH4872 and AaronH175 numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah through MosesH4872. 38And those that were numbered of the sonsH1121 of GershonH1648, after their familiesH4940, and according to their fathers' housesH1004, 39from thirtyH7970 yearsH8141 old and upwardH4605 even to fiftyH2572 yearsH8141 old, every one that entered into the labour, for serviceH5656 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150, 40even those that wereH1961 numbered of them, after their familiesH4940, according to their fathers' housesH1004, wereH1961 twoH3967 thousandH505 sixH8337 hundredH3967 and thirtyH7970. 41These are they that were numbered of the familiesH4940 of the sonsH1121 of GershonH1648, all that servedH5647 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150, whom MosesH4872 and AaronH175 numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah. 42And those that were numbered of the familiesH4940 of the sonsH1121 of MerariH4847, after their familiesH4940, according to their fathers' housesH1004, 43from thirtyH7970 yearsH8141 old and upwardH4605 even to fiftyH2572 yearsH8141 old, every one that entered into the labour, for serviceH5656 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150, 44even those that wereH1961 numbered of them according to their familiesH4940, wereH1961 threeH7969 thousandH505 twoH3967 hundredH3967. 45These are they that were numbered of the familiesH4940 of the sonsH1121 of MerariH4847, whom MosesH4872 and AaronH175 numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah through MosesH4872. 46All those that were numbered of the LevitesH3881, whom MosesH4872 and AaronH175 and the princesH5387 of IsraelH3478 numbered, after their familiesH4940 and according to their fathers' housesH1004, 47from thirtyH7970 yearsH8141 old and upwardH4605 even to fiftyH2572 yearsH8141 old, every one that cameH935 to serveH5647 [in] the workH5656 of the serviceH5656, and [in] the workH5656 of carrying, in the tentH168 of meetingH4150, 48even those that wereH1961 numbered of them, wereH1961 eightH8083 thousandH505 fiveH2568 hundredH3967 and eightyH8084. 49According to the commandment of Jehovah they were numbered by MosesH4872, every oneH376 for his serviceH5656, and for his burdenH4853, and numbered by him, as Jehovah had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.
