Darby Bible

1In those daysH3117 HezekiahH2396 was sickH2470 unto deathH4191. And the prophetH5030 IsaiahH3470 the sonH1121 of AmozH531 cameH935 to him and saidH559 to him, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: Set thy houseH1004 in order; for thou shalt dieH4191, and not liveH2421. 2And he turnedH5437 his faceH6440 to the wallH7023, and prayedH6419 to Jehovah sayingH559, 3Ah! Jehovah, rememberH2142, I beseech thee, how I have walkedH1980 before thee in truthH571 and with a perfectH8003 heartH3824, and have done what is goodH2896 in thy sight. And HezekiahH2396 weptH1058 much. 4And it came to pass before IsaiahH3470 had goneH3318 out into the middleH8484 cityH5892 that the wordH1697 of Jehovah came to him sayingH559, 5ReturnH7725, and tell HezekiahH2396 the captain of my peopleH5971, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah, the 1GodH430 of DavidH1732 thy fatherH1: I have heardH8085 thy prayerH8605, I have seenH7200 thy tearsH1832; behold, I will healH7495 thee: on the thirdH7992 dayH3117 thou shalt goH5927 up to the houseH1004 of Jehovah; 6and I will addH3254 to thy daysH3117 fifteen yearsH8141; and I will deliverH5337 thee and this cityH5892 out of the handH3709 of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, and I will defendH1598 this cityH5892 for mine own sakeH4616, and for my servantH5650 David's sakeH4616. 7And IsaiahH3470 saidH559, TakeH3947 a cakeH1690 of figsH8384. And they tookH3947 and laid it on the boilH7822, and he recovered. 8And HezekiahH2396 saidH559 to IsaiahH3470, What [shall be] the signH226 that Jehovah will healH7495 me, and that I shall goH5927 up into the houseH1004 of Jehovah the thirdH7992 dayH3117? 9And IsaiahH3470 saidH559, This [shall be] the signH226 to thee from Jehovah, that Jehovah will do the thingH1697 that he hath spokenH1696: shall the shadowH6738 goH1980 forward tenH6235 degrees, or goH1980 backH7725 tenH6235 degrees? 10And HezekiahH2396 saidH559, It is a light thingH7043 for the shadowH6738 to goH7725 downH5186 tenH6235 degrees: no, but let the shadowH6738 returnH7725 backwardH322 tenH6235 degrees. 11And IsaiahH3470 the prophetH5030 cried to Jehovah, and he broughtH7725 the shadowH6738 backH7725 on the degrees by which it had goneH3381 downH3381 on the dial of AhazH271, tenH6235 degrees backwardH322. 12At that timeH6256 Berodach-Baladan, the sonH1121 of BaladanH1081, kingH4428 of BabylonH894, sentH7971 a letterH5612 and a present to HezekiahH2396, for he had heardH8085 that HezekiahH2396 had been sickH2470. 13And HezekiahH2396 hearkened to them, and shewed them all his treasure-house, the silverH3701 and the goldH2091, and the spicesH1314 and the fine oilH8081, and all the houseH1004 of his armour, and all that wasH1961 foundH4672 among his treasuresH214: there wasH1961 nothing in his houseH1004, nor in all his dominion, that HezekiahH2396 did not shew them. 14Then cameH935 the prophetH5030 IsaiahH3470 to kingH4428 HezekiahH2396 and saidH559 to him, What saidH559 these menH376? and from whence cameH935 they to thee? And HezekiahH2396 saidH559, They cameH935 from a farH7350 country, from BabylonH894. 15And he saidH559, What have they seenH7200 in thy houseH1004? And HezekiahH2396 saidH559, All that is in my houseH1004 have they seenH7200: there is nothing among my treasuresH214 that I have not shewn them. 16And IsaiahH3470 saidH559 to HezekiahH2396, HearH8085 the wordH1697 of Jehovah: 17Behold, daysH3117 comeH935 that all that is in thy houseH1004, and what thy fathersH1 have laid up until this dayH3117, shall be carriedH5375 to BabylonH894; nothing shall be leftH3498, saith Jehovah. 18And of thy sonsH1121 that shall issue from thee, whom thou shalt beget, shall they takeH3947 awayH3947; and they shall beH1961 chamberlains in the palaceH1964 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894. 19And HezekiahH2396 saidH559 to IsaiahH3470, GoodH2896 is the wordH1697 of Jehovah which thou hast spokenH1696. And he saidH559, Is it not so? if only there shall beH1961 peaceH7965 and truthH571 in my daysH3117! 20And the restH3499 of the acts of HezekiahH2396, and all his might, and how he madeH6213 the poolH1295 and the aqueduct, and broughtH935 the waterH4325 into the cityH5892, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? 21And HezekiahH2396 slept with his fathersH1; and ManassehH4519 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.
