1And ElishaH477 the prophetH5030 calledH7121 oneH259 of the sonsH1121 of the prophetsH5030, and saidH559 to him, GirdH2296 up thy loinsH4975, and takeH3947 this vial of oilH8081 in thy handH3027, and go to Ramoth-Gilead. 2And when thou art comeH935 thither, lookH7200 out there JehuH3058 the sonH1121 of JehoshaphatH3092, sonH1121 of NimshiH5250, and goH935 in, and make him riseH6965 up from among his brethren, and bringH935 him to an innerH2315 chamberH2315; 3then takeH3947 the vial of oilH8081, and pourH3332 it on his headH7218 and sayH559, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: I have anointedH4886 thee kingH4428 over IsraelH3478; and openH6605 the doorH1817, and fleeH5127, and tarry not. 4And the youngH5288 manH5288, the youngH5288 prophetH5030, went to Ramoth-Gilead. 5And when he cameH935, behold, the captains of the host were sittingH3427. And he saidH559, I have an errand to thee, captain. And JehuH3058 saidH559, To which of all of us? And he saidH559, To thee, captain. 6And he roseH6965 up and wentH935 into the houseH1004; and he pouredH3332 the oilH8081 on his headH7218, and saidH559 to him, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah the 1GodH430 of IsraelH3478: I have anointedH4886 thee kingH4428 over the peopleH5971 of Jehovah, over IsraelH3478. 7And thou shalt smite the houseH1004 of AhabH256 thy masterH113; and I will avengeH5358 the bloodH1818 of my servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, and the bloodH1818 of all the servantsH5650 of Jehovah at the handH3027 of JezebelH348. 8And the whole houseH1004 of AhabH256 shall perishH6, and I will cutH3772 off from AhabH256 every male, and him that is shutH6113 up and leftH5800 in IsraelH3478. 9And I will makeH5414 the houseH1004 of AhabH256 as the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028, and as the houseH1004 of BaashaH1201 the sonH1121 of AhijahH281. 10And the dogsH3611 shall eatH398 JezebelH348 in the plot of Jizreel, and none shall buryH6912 her. And he openedH6605 the doorH1817 and fledH5127. 11And JehuH3058 cameH935 forthH3318 to the servantsH5650 of his lordH113. And oneH376 saidH559 to him, Is all well? whyH4069 cameH935 this madmanH7696 to thee? And the watchmanH6822 toldH5046 sayingH559, The messengerH4397 cameH935 to them, and he does not returnH7725. 19And he sentH7971 out a secondH8145 on horseback; and he cameH935 to them and saidH559, ThusH3541 saith the kingH4428: Is it peaceH7965? And JehuH3058 saidH559, What hast thou to do with peaceH7965? turnH5437 thee behind me. 20And the watchmanH6822 toldH5046 sayingH559, He cameH935 to them, and does not returnH7725. And the driving is like the driving of JehuH3058 the sonH1121 of NimshiH5250; for he drives furiously. 21Then Joram saidH559, Make ready! And they made ready his chariotH7393. And Joram kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 and AhaziahH274 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 wentH3318 out, each in his chariotH7393; and they wentH3318 out to meet JehuH3058, and met him in the plot of NabothH5022 the Jizreelite. 22And it came to pass when Joram sawH7200 JehuH3058, that he saidH559, Is it peaceH7965, JehuH3058? And he saidH559, What peaceH7965, so long as the fornications of thy motherH517 JezebelH348 and her sorceriesH3785 are so manyH7227? 23Then Joram turnedH2015 his handH3027, and fledH5127, and saidH559 to AhaziahH274, Treachery, AhaziahH274! 24And JehuH3058 took his bowH7198 in his handH3027, and smote JehoramH3088 between his armsH2220, and the arrowH2678 wentH3318 out through his heartH3820; and he sank downH5221 in his chariotH7393. 25And he saidH559 to Bidkar his captain, TakeH5375 him up [and] castH7993 him in the plot of the fieldH7704 of NabothH5022 the Jizreelite. For rememberH2142 how, when I and thou rodeH7392 together after AhabH256 his fatherH1, that Jehovah laid this burdenH4853 upon him: 26Certainly I have seenH7200 yesterdayH570 the bloodH1818 of NabothH5022, and the bloodH1818 of his sonsH1121, saith Jehovah; and I will requite thee in this plot, saith Jehovah. And JehuH3058 followed after him, and saidH559, Smite him alsoH1571 in his chariotH4818. It was on the ascentH4608 of Gur, which is by Jibleam. And he fledH5127 to MegiddoH4023, and diedH4191 there. 28And his servantsH5650 carried him in a chariot to JerusalemH3389, and buriedH6912 him in his sepulchre with his fathersH1 in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732. 29(And in the eleventh yearH8141 of JoramH3141 the sonH1121 of AhabH256 had AhaziahH274 begun to reignH4427 over JudahH3063.) 30And JehuH3058 cameH935 to Jizreel; and JezebelH348 heardH8085 of it, and she putH7760 paint to her eyesH5869, and decked her headH7218, and lookedH8259 out at the windowH2474. 31And when JehuH3058 cameH935 in at the gateH8179, she saidH559, Is it peaceH7965, ZimriH2174, murderer of his masterH113? 32And he liftedH5375 up his faceH6440 to the windowH2474, and saidH559, Who is on my side? who? And he saidH559, This is the wordH1697 of Jehovah, which he spokeH1696 through his servantH5650 ElijahH452 the Tishbite sayingH559, In the plot of Jizreel shall dogsH3611 eatH398 the fleshH1320 of JezebelH348; 37and the carcase of JezebelH348 shall beH1961 as dungH1828 upon the open fieldH7704 in the plot of Jizreel, so that they shall not sayH559, This is JezebelH348.
