Darby Bible
1In the seventeenth yearH8141 of PekahH6492 the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425, AhazH271 the sonH1121 of JothamH3147, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, began to reignH4427. 2AhazH271 was twentyH6242 yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 sixteen yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. And he did not what was rightH3477 in the sight of Jehovah his 1GodH430, like DavidH1732 his fatherH1, 3but walked in the wayH1870 of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478, and even caused his sonH1121 to passH5674 through the fireH784, according to the abominationsH8441 of the nationsH1471 that Jehovah had dispossessedH3423 from before the children of IsraelH3478. 4And he sacrificedH2076 and burned incenseH6999 on the highH1116 placesH1116, and on the hillsH1389, and under every green treeH6086. 5ThenH227 RezinH7526 the kingH4428 of Syria, and PekahH6492 sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425, the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, cameH5927 up to JerusalemH3389 to battleH4421; and they besieged AhazH271, but were unable to conquer him. 6At that timeH6256 RezinH7526 kingH4428 of Syria recovered ElathH359 to Syria, and drove the JewsH3064 from ElathH359; and the Syrians cameH935 to ElathH359, and dweltH3427 there to this dayH3117. 7And AhazH271 sentH7971 messengersH4397 to Tiglath-PileserH8407 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, sayingH559, I am thy servantH5650 and thy sonH1121: comeH5927 up, and saveH3467 me out of the handH3709 of the kingH4428 of Syria, and out of the handH3709 of the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, who have risenH6965 up against me. 8And AhazH271 tookH3947 the silverH3701 and the goldH2091 that was foundH4672 in the houseH1004 of Jehovah, and in the treasuresH214 of the king's houseH1004, and sentH7971 it [as] a present to the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804. 9And the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 hearkened to him; and the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 wentH5927 up against DamascusH1834, and took it, and carried it captive to KirH7024, and putH4191 RezinH7526 to deathH4191. 10And kingH4428 AhazH271 went to DamascusH1834 to meet Tiglath-PileserH8407 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804; and he sawH7200 the altarH4196 that was at DamascusH1834, and kingH4428 AhazH271 sentH7971 to Urijah the priestH3548 the formH8403 of the altarH4196, and the patternH8403 of it, according to all its workmanshipH4639. 11And Urijah the priestH3548 builtH1129 an altarH4196 according to all that kingH4428 AhazH271 had sentH7971 from DamascusH1834; thusH3651 Urijah the priestH3548 madeH6213 [it], against kingH4428 AhazH271 cameH935 from DamascusH1834. 12And when the kingH4428 cameH935 from DamascusH1834, the kingH4428 sawH7200 the altarH4196; and the kingH4428 approached to the altarH4196, and offeredH5927 upon it. 13And he burned his burnt-offering and his oblation, and poured out his drink-offering, and sprinkledH2236 the bloodH1818 of his peace-offering upon the altarH4196. 14And the brazen altarH4196 which was before Jehovah, he broughtH7126 forward from the forefront of the houseH1004, from between [his] altarH4196 and the houseH1004 of Jehovah, and putH5414 it by the sideH3409 of [his] altarH4196 on the northH6828. 15And kingH4428 AhazH271 commandedH6680 Urijah the priestH3548 sayingH559, Upon the greatH1419 altarH4196 burn the morningH1242 burnt-offering, and the eveningH6153 oblation, and the king's burnt-offering, and his oblation, and the burnt-offering of all the peopleH5971 of the landH776, and their oblation, and their drink-offerings; and sprinkleH2236 upon it all the bloodH1818 of the burnt-offerings, and all the bloodH1818 of the sacrificesH2077; and the brazen altarH4196 shall beH1961 for me to inquire [by]. 16And Urijah the priestH3548 did according to all that kingH4428 AhazH271 had commandedH6680. 17And kingH4428 AhazH271 cutH7112 off the panels of the bases, and removedH5493 the lavers from off them; and took down the seaH3220 from off the brazen oxenH1241 that were under it, and putH5414 it upon a stoneH68 pavement. 18And the covered way of the sabbathH7676 that they had builtH1129 in the houseH1004, and the king's entry outside, he turnedH5437 from the houseH1004 of Jehovah on account of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804. 19And the restH3499 of the acts of AhazH271, what he did, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? 20And AhazH271 slept with his fathersH1, and was buriedH6912 with his fathersH1 in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732; and HezekiahH2396 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.
