2 Kings 20
American Standard Version
1In those daysH3117 was HezekiahH2396 sickH2470 unto deathH4191. And IsaiahH3470 the prophetH5030 the sonH1121 of AmozH531 cameH935 to him, and saidH559 unto him, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah, Set thy houseH1004 in order; for thou shalt dieH4191, and not liveH2421. 2Then he turnedH5437 his faceH6440 to the wallH7023, and prayedH6419 unto Jehovah, sayingH559, 3RememberH2142 now, O Jehovah, I beseech thee, how I have walkedH1980 before thee in truthH571 and with a perfectH8003 heartH3824, and have done that which is goodH2896 in thy sight. And HezekiahH2396 weptH1058 sore. 4And it came to pass, before IsaiahH3470 wasH1961 goneH3318 out into the middleH8484 part of the cityH5892, that the wordH1697 of Jehovah came to him, sayingH559, 5TurnH7725 backH7725, and sayH559 to HezekiahH2396 the princeH5057 of my peopleH5971, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah, the GodH430 of DavidH1732 thy fatherH1, I have heardH8085 thy prayerH8605, I have seenH7200 thy tearsH1832: behold, I will healH7495 thee; on the thirdH7992 dayH3117 thou shalt goH5927 up unto the houseH1004 of Jehovah. 6And I will addH3254 unto thy daysH3117 fifteen yearsH8141; and I will deliverH5337 thee and this cityH5892 out of the handH3709 of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804; and I will defendH1598 this cityH5892 for mine own sakeH4616, and for my servantH5650 David’s sakeH4616. 7And IsaiahH3470 saidH559, TakeH3947 a cakeH1690 of figsH8384. And they tookH3947 and laid it on the boilH7822, and he recovered.
8And HezekiahH2396 saidH559 unto IsaiahH3470, What shall be the signH226 that Jehovah will healH7495 me, and that I shall goH5927 up unto the houseH1004 of Jehovah the thirdH7992 dayH3117? 9And IsaiahH3470 saidH559, This shall be the signH226 unto thee from Jehovah, that Jehovah will do the thingH1697 that he hath spokenH1696: shall the shadowH6738 goH1980 forward tenH6235 stepsH4609, or goH1980 backH7725 tenH6235 stepsH4609? 10And HezekiahH2396 answered, It is a light thingH7043 for the shadowH6738 to decline tenH6235 stepsH4609: nay, but let the shadowH6738 returnH7725 backwardH322 tenH6235 stepsH4609. 11And IsaiahH3470 the prophetH5030 cried unto Jehovah; and he broughtH7725 the shadowH6738 tenH6235 stepsH4609 backwardH322, by which it had goneH3381 downH3381 on the dial of AhazH271.
12At that timeH6256 Berodach-baladan the sonH1121 of BaladanH1081, kingH4428 of BabylonH894, sentH7971 lettersH5612 and a present unto HezekiahH2396; for he had heardH8085 that HezekiahH2396 had been sickH2470. 13And HezekiahH2396 hearkened unto them, and showedH7200 them all the houseH1004 of his precious thingsH1697, the silverH3701, and the goldH2091, and the spicesH1314, and the precious oilH8081, and the houseH1004 of his armorH3627, and all that wasH1961 foundH4672 in his treasuresH214: there wasH1961 nothing in his houseH1004, nor in all his dominion, that HezekiahH2396 showedH7200 them not. 14Then cameH935 IsaiahH3470 the prophetH5030 unto kingH4428 HezekiahH2396, and saidH559 unto him, What saidH559 these menH376? and from whence cameH935 they unto thee? And HezekiahH2396 saidH559, They are comeH935 from a farH7350 country, even from BabylonH894. 15And he saidH559, What have they seenH7200 in thy houseH1004? And HezekiahH2396 answered, All that is in my houseH1004 have they seenH7200: there is nothing among my treasuresH214 that I have not showedH7200 them.
16And IsaiahH3470 saidH559 unto HezekiahH2396, HearH8085 the wordH1697 of Jehovah. 17Behold, the daysH3117 comeH935, that all that is in thy houseH1004, and that which thy fathersH1 have laid up in store unto this dayH3117, shall be carriedH5375 to BabylonH894: nothing shall be leftH3498, saith Jehovah. 18And of thy sonsH1121 that shall issue from thee, whom thou shalt beget, shall they takeH3947 awayH3947; and they shall beH1961 eunuchsH5631 in the palaceH1964 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894. 19Then saidH559 HezekiahH2396 unto IsaiahH3470, GoodH2896 is the wordH1697 of Jehovah which thou hast spokenH1696. He saidH559 moreover, Is it not so, if peaceH7965 and truthH571 shall beH1961 in my daysH3117? 20Now the restH3499 of the acts of HezekiahH2396, and all his might, and how he madeH6213 the poolH1295, and the conduit, and broughtH935 waterH4325 into the cityH5892, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? 21And HezekiahH2396 slept with his fathersH1; and ManassehH4519 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.
