2 Kings 20
Revised Version 1895
1In thoseH1992 daysH3117 was HezekiahH2396 sickH2470 unto deathH4191. And IsaiahH3470 the prophetH5030 the sonH1121 of AmozH531 cameH935 to him, and saidH559 unto him, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, SetH935 thine houseH1004 in orderH6680; for thou shalt dieH4191, and notH3808 liveH2421. 2Then he turnedH5437 his faceH6440 to the wallH7023, and prayedH6419 unto the LORDH3068, sayingH559, 3RememberH2142 nowH4994, O LORDH3068, I beseechH577 thee, howH834 I have walkedH1980 beforeH6440 thee in truthH571 and with a perfectH8003 heartH3824, and have doneH6213 that whichH834 is goodH2896 in thy sightH5869. And HezekiahH2396 weptH1058 sore. 4And it cameH1961 to passH1961, afore IsaiahH3470 was goneH3318 outH3318 intoH413 the middleH8484 part of the cityH5892, that the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 to him, sayingH559, 5TurnH7725 againH7725, and sayH559 to HezekiahH2396 the princeH5057 of my peopleH5971, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of DavidH1732 thy fatherH1, I have heardH8085 thy prayerH8605, I have seenH7200 thy tearsH1832: beholdH2005, I will healH7495 thee: on the thirdH7992 dayH3117 thou shalt goH5927 upH5927 unto the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. 6And I will addH3254 unto thy daysH3117 fifteenH6240 yearsH8141; and I will deliverH5337 thee and this cityH5892 outH5921 of the handH3709 of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804; and I will defendH1598 this cityH5892 for mine own sakeH4616, and for my servantH5650 David’sH1732 sakeH4616. 7And IsaiahH3470 saidH559, TakeH3947 a cakeH1690 of figsH8384. And they tookH3947 and laidH7760 it on the boilH7822, and he recovered. 8And HezekiahH2396 saidH559 unto IsaiahH3470, WhatH4100 shall be the signH226 that the LORDH3068 will healH7495 meH413, and that I shall goH5927 upH5927 unto the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 the thirdH7992 dayH3117? 9And IsaiahH3470 saidH559, This shall be the signH226 unto thee from the LORDH3068, that the LORDH3068 will doH6213 the thingH1697 that he hath spokenH1696: shall the shadowH6738 goH1980 forwardH1980 tenH6235 stepsH4609, or goH1980 backH7725 tenH6235 stepsH4609? 10And HezekiahH2396 answeredH559, It is a lightH7043 thingH7043 for the shadowH6738 to declineH5186 tenH6235 stepsH4609: nay, but letH5186 the shadowH6738 returnH7725 backwardH322 tenH6235 stepsH4609. 11And IsaiahH3470 the prophetH5030 criedH7121 unto the LORDH3068: and he broughtH7725 the shadowH6738 tenH6235 stepsH4609 backwardH322, by whichH834 it had goneH3381 downH3381 on the dial of AhazH271. 12At that time Berodach-baladanH1255 the sonH1121 of BaladanH1081, kingH4428 of BabylonH894, sentH7971 lettersH5612 and a presentH4503 unto HezekiahH2396: for he had heardH8085 that HezekiahH2396 had been sickH2470. 13And HezekiahH2396 hearkened unto them, and shewed them allH3605 the houseH1004 of his precious things, the silverH3701, and the goldH2091, and the spicesH1314, and the precious oilH8081, and the houseH1004 of his armour, and allH3605 that was foundH4672 in his treasuresH214: there was nothingH3808 in his houseH1004, norH3808 in allH3605 his dominion that HezekiahH2396 shewed them notH3808. 14Then cameH935 IsaiahH3470 the prophetH5030 unto kingH4428 HezekiahH2396, and saidH559 unto him, WhatH4100 saidH559 theseH428 menH376? and from whence cameH935 they unto thee? And HezekiahH2396 saidH559, They are comeH935 from a farH7350 countryH776, evenH776 from BabylonH894. 15And he saidH559, WhatH4100 have they seenH7200 in thine houseH1004? And HezekiahH2396 answeredH559, AllH3605 that is in mine houseH1004 have they seenH7200: there is nothingH3808 among my treasuresH214 that I have notH3808 shewed them. 16And IsaiahH3470 saidH559 unto HezekiahH2396, HearH8085 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068. 17BeholdH2009, the daysH3117 comeH935, that allH3605 that is in thine houseH1004, and that whichH834 thy fathersH1 have laidH686 upH5375 in storeH686 unto this dayH3117, shall be carriedH5375 to BabylonH894: nothingH3808 shall be leftH3498, saith the LORDH3068. 18And of thy sonsH1121 that shall issueH3318 from thee, whichH834 thou shalt begetH3205, shall they takeH3947 awayH3947; and they shall be eunuchsH5631 in the palaceH1964 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894. 19Then saidH559 HezekiahH2396 unto IsaiahH3470, GoodH2896 is the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 whichH834 thou hast spokenH1696. He saidH559 moreoverH1696, Is it notH3808 soH1961, ifH518 peaceH7965 and truthH571 shall be in my daysH3117? 20NowH3117 the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of HezekiahH2396, and allH3605 his might, and howH834 he madeH6213 the poolH1295, and the conduit, and broughtH935 waterH4325 intoH935 the cityH5892, are they notH3808 writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? 21And HezekiahH2396 sleptH7901 with his fathersH1: and ManassehH4519 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his steadH8478.
