1 Samuel 29
Darby Bible
1And the PhilistinesH6430 gatheredH6908 togetherH6908 all their armiesH4264 to AphekH663; and IsraelH3478 encampedH2583 by the springH5869 that is in Jizreel. 2And the lords of the PhilistinesH6430 passedH5674 on by hundredsH3967 and by thousandsH505; and DavidH1732 and his menH376 passedH5674 on in the rearward with AchishH397. 3And the princesH8269 of the PhilistinesH6430 saidH559, What are these HebrewsH5680? And AchishH397 saidH559 to the princesH8269 of the PhilistinesH6430, Is not this DavidH1732, the servantH5650 of SaulH7586 the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, who has beenH1961 with me these daysH3117, or these yearsH8141, and I have foundH4672 nothing in him since the dayH3117 of his fallingH5307 away [to me] to this dayH3117? 4But the princesH8269 of the PhilistinesH6430 were wroth with him; and the princesH8269 of the PhilistinesH6430 saidH559 to him, Make the manH376 returnH7725, that he may goH3381 again to his placeH4725 whereH834 thou hast appointedH6485 him, that he goH3381 not downH3381 with us to the battleH4421, that in the battleH4421 he beH1961 not an adversaryH7854 to us; for wherewith should this [fellow] reconcile himself to his masterH113? should it not beH1961 with the headsH7218 of these menH376? 5Is not this DavidH1732, of whom they sang oneH2088 to another in dances, sayingH559, SaulH7586 smote his thousandsH505, and DavidH1732 his tenH7233 thousandsH505? 6And AchishH397 calledH7121 DavidH1732, and saidH559 to him, [As] Jehovah liveth, thou art uprightH3477, and thy goingH3318 out and thy comingH935 in with me in the campH4264 is acceptable to me; for I have not foundH4672 evilH7451 in thee since the dayH3117 of thy comingH935 to me to this dayH3117; but thou art not acceptable to the lords. 7And nowH6258 returnH7725, and goH7725 in peaceH7965, that thou displease not the lords of the PhilistinesH6430. 8And DavidH1732 saidH559 to AchishH397, But what have I done? and what hast thou foundH4672 in thy servantH5650 so long as I have beenH1961 with thee to this dayH3117, that I should not goH935 and fightH3898 against the enemiesH341 of my lordH113 the kingH4428? 9And AchishH397 answered and saidH559 to DavidH1732, I knowH3045 that thou art acceptable to me, as an angelH4397 of 1GodH430; neverthelessH389 the princesH8269 of the PhilistinesH6430 have saidH559, He shall not goH5927 up with us to the battleH4421. 10And nowH6258 riseH7925 up earlyH7925 in the morningH1242 with thy master's servantsH5650 that are comeH935 with thee; and riseH7925 ye earlyH7925 in the morningH1242, and whenH834 ye have daylight, depart. 11And DavidH1732 roseH7925 up earlyH7925, he and his menH376, to depart in the morningH1242, to returnH7725 into the landH776 of the PhilistinesH6430. And the PhilistinesH6430 wentH5927 up to Jizreel.
