Corinthians 1:16-28
Yes, I baptised alsoG2532 the houseG3624 of StephanasG4734; for the rest I know not if I have baptised any otherG243.
For ChristG5547 has not sentG649 me to baptise, but to preach glad tidings; not in wisdomG4678 of wordG3056, that the crossG4716 of the ChristG5547 may not be made vain.
For the wordG3056 of the crossG4716 isG1510 to them that perishG622 foolishnessG3472, but to us that areG1510 savedG4982 it isG1510 1God's powerG1411.
For it is writtenG1125, I will destroyG622 the wisdomG4678 of the wiseG4680, and setG114 asideG114 the understandingG4907 of the understandingG4907 ones.
WhereG4226 [is the] wiseG4680? whereG4226 scribeG1122? whereG4226 disputer of this worldG2889? has not 2GodG2316 made foolish the wisdomG4678 of the worldG2889?
For since, in the wisdomG4678 of 3GodG2316, the worldG2889 by wisdomG4678 has not knownG1097 4GodG2316, 5GodG2316 has been pleased by the foolishnessG3472 of the preachingG2782 to saveG4982 those that believeG4100.
Since JewsG2453 indeed askG154 for signsG4592, and GreeksG1672 seekG2212 wisdomG4678;
but we preachG2784 ChristG5547 crucifiedG4717, to JewsG2453 an offence, and to nationsG1484 foolishnessG3472;
but to those that [are] calledG2822, both JewsG2453 and GreeksG1672, ChristG5547 6God's powerG1411 and 7God's wisdomG4678.
Because the foolishness of 8GodG2316 isG1510 wiser than menG444, and the weaknessG772 of 9GodG2316 isG1510 strongerG2478 than menG444.
For considerG991 your callingG2821, brethren, that [there are] not manyG4183 wiseG4680 accordingG2596 to fleshG4561, not manyG4183 powerfulG1415, not manyG4183 high-born.
But 10GodG2316 has chosen the foolishG3474 things of the worldG2889, that he may put to shameG2617 the wiseG4680; and 11GodG2316 has chosen the weakG772 things of the worldG2889, that he may put to shameG2617 the strongG2478 things;
and the ignoble things of the worldG2889, and the despisedG1848, has 12GodG2316 chosen, [and] things that areG1510 not, that he may annul the things that areG1510;
