2 Corinthians 11 1 Would that ye would bear G430 with me [ in ] a little μικρόν mikron G3398 folly; but indeed bear G430 with me . 2 For I am jealous ζηλῶ zēlō G2206 as to you with a jealousy ζήλῳ· zēlō G2205 [ which is ] of God θεοῦ theou G2316 ; for I have espoused you unto one ἑνὶ heni G1520 man G435 , to present παραστῆσαι parastēsai G3936 [ you ] a chaste virgin παρθένον parthenon G3933 to Christ Χριστῷ, Christō G5547 . 3 But I fear G5399 lest μή mē G3361 by any means , as the serpent ὄφις ophis G3789 deceived G1818 Eve Εὕαν Heuan G2096 by his craft, [ so ] your thoughts should be corrupted φθαρῇ phtharēa G5351 from simplicity as to the Christ Χριστόν. Christon G5547 . 4 For if indeed G1063 he that comes G2064 preaches G2784 another Jesus Ἰησοῦν Iēsoun G2424 , whom we have not preached G2784 , or ye get a different ἕτερον heteron G2087 Spirit πνεῦμα pneuma G4151 , which ye have not got, or a different ἕτερον heteron G2087 glad tidings, which ye have not received G2983 , ye might well καλῶς kalōs G2573 bear G430 with [ it ]. 5 For I reckon that in nothing μηδὲν mēden G3367 I am behind those who are in surpassing degree apostles G652 . 6 But if [ I am ] a simple person in speech λόγῳ, logō G3056 , yet not in knowledge γνώσει, gnōsei G1108 , but in everything G3956 making [ the truth] manifest φανερώσαντες phanerōsantes G5319 in all things G3956 to you . 7 Have I committed sin ἁμαρτίαν hamartian G266 , abasing myself in order G2443 that ye might be exalted ὑψωθῆτε, hupsōthēte G5312 , because I gratuitously announced to you the glad tidings of God θεοῦ theou G2316 ? 8 I spoiled other ἄλλας allas G243 assemblies, receiving G2983 hire for ministry G1248 towards you . 9 And being present παρὼν parōn G3918 with you and lacking G5303 , I did not lazily burden κατενάρκησα katenarkēsa G2655 any one G3588 , ( for the brethren who came ἐλθόντες elthontes G2064 from Macedonia Μακεδονίας, Makedonias G3109 supplied what I lacked G5302 ,) and in everything παντὶ panti G3956 I kept G5083 myself from being a burden G2655 to you , and will keep G5083 myself . 10 [ The ] truth ἀλήθεια alētheia G225 of Christ Χριστοῦ Christou G5547 is G1510 in me that this boasting καύχησις kauchēsis G2746 shall not be G1510 stopped as to me in the regions κλίμασιν klimasin G2824 of Achaia Ἀχαΐας. Achaias G882 . 12 But what I do , I will also G2532 do , that I may cut ἐκκόψω ekkopsō G1581 off the opportunity ἀφορμὴν aphormēn G874 of those wishing G2309 [ for ] an opportunity ἀφορμήν, aphormēn G874 , that wherein they boast καυχῶνται, kauchōntai G2744 they may be found G2147 even G2532 as we . 13 For such τοιοῦτοι toioutoi G5108 [ are ] false apostles G652 , deceitful workers ἐργάται ergatai G2040 , transforming themselves into apostles G652 of Christ Χριστοῦ· Christou G5547 . 14 And [ it is ] not wonderful, for Satan σατανᾶς satanas G4567 himself transforms himself into an angel ἄγγελον angelon G32 of light φωτός· phōtos G5457 . 17 What I speak G2980 I do not speak G2980 according κατὰ kata G2596 to [ the ] Lord κύριον kurion G2962 , but as in folly, in this confidence ὑποστάσει hupostasei G5287 of boasting καυχήσεως. kauchēseōs G2746 . 18 Since many πολλοὶ polloi G4183 boast καυχῶνται kauchōntai G2744 according κατὰ kata G2596 to flesh σάρκα, sarka G4561 , I also will boast καυχήσομαι. kauchēsomai G2744 . 19 For ye bear ἀνέχεσθε anechesthe G430 fools ἀφρόνων, aphronōn G878 readily, being ὄντες· ontes G1510 wise φρόνιμοι phronimoi G5429 . 21 I speak λέγω, legō G3004 as to dishonour, as though we had been weak ἠσθενήκαμεν· ēsthenēkamen G770 ; but wherein any one G5100 is daring, ( I speak λέγω, legō G3004 in folly,) I also G1161 am daring. 23 Are G1510 they ministers of Christ Χριστοῦ Christou G5547 ? ( I speak λαλῶ· lalō G2980 as being G1510 beside myself ) I above measure [ so ]; in labours exceedingly abundant, in stripes to excess, in prisons G5438 exceedingly abundant, in deaths oft. 24 From the Jews Ἰουδαίων Ioudaiōn G2453 five times have I received G2983 forty τεσσεράκοντα tesserakonta G5062 [stripes], save one μίαν mian G1520 . 25 Thrice have I been scourged, once ἅπαξ hapax G530 I have been stoned G3034 , three G5151 times I have suffered shipwreck , a night and day I passed in the deep : 26 in journeyings often πολλάκις, pollakis G4178 , in perils of rivers ποταμῶν, potamōn G4215 , in perils of robbers λῃστῶν, lēstōn G3027 , in perils from [ my own] race γένους, genous G1085 , in perils from [ the ] nations G1484 , in perils in [ the ] city πόλει, polei G4172 , in perils in [ the ] desert, in perils on [ the ] sea θαλάσσῃ, thalassē G2281 , in perils among false ψευδαδέλφοις, pseudadelphois G5569 brethren ; 27 in labour and toil , in watchings often πολλάκις, pollakis G4178 , in hunger λιμῷ limō G3042 and thirst , in fastings often πολλάκις, pollakis G4178 , in cold ψύχει psuchei G5592 and nakedness γυμνότητι· gumnotēti G1132 . 28 Besides those things G3956 that are without , the crowd [ of cares μέριμνα merimna G3308 ] pressing on me daily , the burden of all the assemblies. 29 Who is weak ἀσθενεῖ, asthenei G770 , and I am not weak ἀσθενῶ; asthenō G770 ? Who is stumbled, and I burn πυροῦμαι; puroumai G4448 not ? 30 If it is needful to boast καυχᾶσθαι kauchasthai G2744 , I will boast καυχήσομαι.¶ kauchēsomai G2744 in the things which concern my infirmity G769 . 32 In Damascus Δαμασκῷ Damaskō G1154 the ethnarch of Aretas the king βασιλέως basileōs G935 kept the city πόλιν polin G4172 of the Damascenes shut up, wishing to take me ; 33 and through a window θυρίδος thuridos G2376 in a basket I was let down by the wall τείχους teichous G5038 , and escaped G1628 his hands χεῖρας cheiras G5495 . ← 2 Corinthians 10 2 Corinthians 12 → Commentaries on 2 Corinthians 11 Darby Bible — 1889 — Public Domain
