Jeremiah 35:2-10

2GoH1980 unto the houseH1004 of the Rechabites, and speakH1696 unto them, and bringH935 them into the houseH1004 of Jehovah, into oneH259 of the chambers, and giveH8248 them wineH3196 to drinkH8248.

3Then I tookH3947 JaazaniahH2970 the sonH1121 of JeremiahH3414, the sonH1121 of Habazziniah, and his brethren, and all his sonsH1121, and the whole houseH1004 of the Rechabites;

4and I broughtH935 them into the houseH1004 of Jehovah, into the chamber of the sonsH1121 of HananH2605 the sonH1121 of Igdaliah, the manH376 of GodH430, which was by the chamber of the princesH8269, which was above the chamber of MaaseiahH4641 the sonH1121 of ShallumH7967, the keeperH8104 of the threshold.

5And I setH5414 before the sonsH1121 of the houseH1004 of the Rechabites bowls fullH4392 of wineH3196, and cupsH1375; and I saidH559 unto them, DrinkH8354 ye wineH3196.

6But they saidH559, We will drinkH8354 no wineH3196; for JonadabH3122 the sonH1121 of RechabH7394, our fatherH1, commandedH6680 us, sayingH559, Ye shall drinkH8354 no wineH3196, neither ye, nor your sonsH1121, for everH5769:

7neither shall ye buildH1129 houseH1004, nor sowH2232 seedH2233, nor plantH5193 vineyardH3754, nor have any; but all your daysH3117 ye shall dwellH3427 in tentsH168; that ye may live manyH7227 daysH3117 in the landH127 wherein ye sojourn.

8And we have obeyed the voiceH6963 of JonadabH3082 the sonH1121 of RechabH7394, our fatherH1, in all that he charged us, to drinkH8354 no wineH3196 all our daysH3117, we, our wivesH802, our sonsH1121, or our daughtersH1323;

9nor to buildH1129 housesH1004 for us to dwellH3427 in; neither have we vineyardH3754, nor fieldH7704, nor seedH2233:

10but we have dweltH3427 in tentsH168, and have obeyed, and done according to all that JonadabH3122 our fatherH1 commandedH6680 us.
