Jeremiah 3:3-10
3Therefore the showersH7241 have beenH1961 withholden, and there hath beenH1961 no latter rainH4456; yet thou hadst a harlot’s foreheadH4696, thou refusedst to beH1961 ashamedH3637. 4Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My FatherH1, thou art the guide of my youthH5271? 5Will he retain his anger for everH5769? will he keepH8104 it to the end? Behold, thou hast spokenH1696 and hast done evilH7451 things, and hast had thy way.
6Moreover Jehovah saidH559 unto me in the daysH3117 of JosiahH2977 the kingH4428, Hast thou seenH7200 that which backsliding IsraelH3478 hath done? she is goneH1980 up upon every highH1364 mountainH2022 and under every green treeH6086, and there hath playedH2181 the harlot. 7And I saidH559 after she had done all these thingsH428, She will returnH7725 unto me; but she returnedH7725 not: and her treacherousH901 sisterH269 JudahH3063 sawH7200 it. 8And I sawH7200, when, for this very cause that backsliding IsraelH3478 had committedH5003 adulteryH5003, I had putH5414 her awayH7971 and givenH5414 her a bill of divorcement, yet treacherousH898 JudahH3063 her sisterH269 fearedH3372 not; but she alsoH1571 went and playedH2181 the harlot. 9And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that the landH776 wasH1961 pollutedH2610, and she committedH5003 adulteryH5003 with stonesH68 and with stocks. 10And yet for all this her treacherousH901 sisterH269 JudahH3063 hath not returnedH7725 unto me with her whole heartH3820, but feignedly, saith Jehovah.
