Jeremiah 18:18-23
18Then saidH559 they, Come, and let us devise devices against JeremiahH3414; for the lawH8451 shall not perishH6 from the priestH3548, nor counselH6098 from the wiseH2450, nor the wordH1697 from the prophetH5030. Come, and let us smite him with the tongueH3956, and let us not give heed to any of his wordsH1697.
19Give heed to me, O Jehovah, and hearken to the voiceH6963 of them that contend with me. 20Shall evilH7451 be recompensed for goodH2896? for they have digged a pitH7745 for my soulH5315. RememberH2142 how I stoodH5975 before thee to speakH1696 goodH2896 for them, to turnH7725 awayH7725 thy wrathH2534 from them. 21ThereforeH3651 deliver up their children to the famineH7458, and giveH5414 them over to the power of the swordH2719; and let their wivesH802 becomeH1961 childless, and widowsH490; and let their menH376 beH1961 slainH2026 of deathH4194, and their youngH1121 menH376 smitten of the swordH2719 in battleH4421. 22Let a cryH2201 be heardH8085 from their housesH1004, when thou shalt bringH935 a troopH1416 suddenlyH6597 upon them; for they have digged a pit to takeH3920 me, and hidH2934 snaresH6341 for my feetH7272. 23Yet, Jehovah, thou knowest all their counselH6098 against me to slay me; forgive not their iniquityH5771, neither blot out their sinH2403 from thy sight; but let them beH1961 overthrown before thee; deal thou with them in the timeH6256 of thine angerH639.
