Ezekiel 7

American Standard Version

1Moreover the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 2And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah unto the landH776 of IsraelH3478, An endH7093: the endH7093 is comeH935 upon the fourH702 cornersH3671 of the landH776. 3NowH6258 is the endH7093 upon thee, and I will sendH7971 mine angerH639 upon thee, and will judgeH8199 thee according to thy waysH1870; and I will bring upon thee all thine abominationsH8441. 4And mine eyeH5869 shall not spareH2550 thee, neither will I have pityH2347; but I will bring thy waysH1870 upon thee, and thine abominationsH8441 shall beH1961 in the midstH8432 of thee: and ye shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah.

5ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: An evilH7451, an only evilH7451; behold, it cometh. 6An endH7093 is comeH935, the endH7093 is comeH935; it awaketh against thee; behold, it cometh. 7Thy doomH6843 is comeH935 unto thee, O inhabitantH3427 of the landH776: the timeH6256 is comeH935, the dayH3117 is near, a dayH3117 of tumult, and not of joyful shouting, upon the mountainsH2022. 8NowH6258 will I shortly pourH8210 out my wrathH2534 upon thee, and accomplish mine angerH639 against thee, and will judgeH8199 thee according to thy waysH1870; and I will bring upon thee all thine abominationsH8441. 9And mine eyeH5869 shall not spareH2550, neither will I have pityH2347: I will bring upon thee according to thy waysH1870; and thine abominationsH8441 shall beH1961 in the midstH8432 of thee; and ye shall knowH3045 that I, Jehovah, do smite.

10Behold, the dayH3117, behold, it cometh: thy doomH6843 is goneH3318 forthH3318; the rodH4294 hath blossomed, prideH2087 hath buddedH6524. 11ViolenceH2555 is risenH6965 up into a rodH4294 of wickednessH7562; none of them shall remain, nor of their multitudeH1995, nor of their wealthH1995: neither shall there be eminency among them. 12The timeH6256 is comeH935, the dayH3117 draweth near: let not the buyerH7069 rejoiceH8055, nor the sellerH4376 mournH56; for wrath is upon all the multitudeH1995 thereof. 13For the sellerH4376 shall not returnH7725 to that which is soldH4376, although they be yetH5750 aliveH2416: for the visionH2377 is touching the whole multitudeH1995 thereof, none shall returnH7725; neither shall any strengthenH2388 himself in the iniquityH5771 of his lifeH2416.

14They have blownH8628 the trumpet, and have made all ready; but none goeth to the battleH4421; for my wrath is upon all the multitudeH1995 thereof. 15The swordH2719 is without, and the pestilenceH1698 and the famineH7458 within: he that is in the fieldH7704 shall dieH4191 with the swordH2719; and he that is in the cityH5892, famineH7458 and pestilenceH1698 shall devourH398 him. 16But those of them that escapeH6412 shall escapeH6412, and shall beH1961 on the mountainsH2022 like dovesH3123 of the valleysH1516, all of them moaning, every oneH376 in his iniquityH5771. 17All handsH3027 shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as waterH4325. 18They shall also girdH2296 themselves with sackclothH8242, and horror shall coverH3680 them; and shameH955 shall be upon all facesH6440, and baldnessH7144 upon all their headsH7218. 19They shall castH7993 their silverH3701 in the streetsH2351, and their goldH2091 shall beH1961 as an unclean thingH5079; their silverH3701 and their goldH2091 shall not beH1961 ableH3201 to deliverH5337 them in the dayH3117 of the wrathH5678 of Jehovah: they shall not satisfyH7646 their soulsH5315, neither fillH4390 their bowelsH4578; because it hath beenH1961 the stumblingblock of their iniquityH5771. 20As for the beauty of his ornament, he setH7760 it in majesty; but they madeH6213 the imagesH6754 of their abominationsH8441 and their detestableH8251 thingsH8251 therein: thereforeH3651 have I madeH6213 it unto them as an unclean thingH5079. 21And I will giveH5414 it into the handsH3027 of the strangersH2114 for a preyH957, and to the wickedH7563 of the earthH776 for a spoilH7998; and they shall profaneH2490 it. 22My faceH6440 will I turnH5437 also from them, and they shall profaneH2490 my secret place; and robbersH6530 shall enter into it, and profaneH2490 it.

23MakeH6213 the chain; for the landH776 is fullH4390 of bloody crimes, and the cityH5892 is fullH4390 of violenceH2555. 24Wherefore I will bringH935 the worst of the nationsH1471, and they shall possessH3423 their housesH1004: I will also make the prideH1347 of the strongH5794 to ceaseH7673; and their holyH6942 places shall be profanedH2490. 25Destruction cometh; and they shall seekH1245 peaceH7965, and there shall be none. 26Mischief shall comeH935 upon mischief, and rumor shall beH1961 upon rumor; and they shall seekH1245 a visionH2377 of the prophetH5030; but the lawH8451 shall perishH6 from the priestH3548, and counselH6098 from the eldersH2205. 27The kingH4428 shall mournH56, and the princeH5387 shall be clothedH3847 with desolationH8077, and the handsH3027 of the peopleH5971 of the landH776 shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their wayH1870, and according to their deserts will I judgeH8199 them; and they shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah.
