Ezekiel 13
American Standard Version
1And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 2SonH1121 of manH120, prophesyH5012 against the prophetsH5030 of IsraelH3478 that prophesyH5012, and sayH559 thou unto them that prophesyH5012 out of their own heartH3820, HearH8085 ye the wordH1697 of Jehovah: 3ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah, WoeH1945 unto the foolishH5036 prophetsH5030, that follow their own spiritH7307, and have seenH7200 nothing! 4O IsraelH3478, thy prophetsH5030 have beenH1961 like foxesH7776 in the wasteH2723 placesH2723. 5Ye have not goneH5927 up into the gaps, neither built up the wallH1447 for the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, to standH5975 in the battleH4421 in the dayH3117 of Jehovah. 6They have seenH2372 falsehoodH7723 and lyingH3577 divinationH7081, that sayH559, Jehovah saith; but Jehovah hath not sentH7971 them: and they have made men to hopeH3176 that the wordH1697 would be confirmed. 7Have ye not seenH2372 a false visionH4236, and have ye not spokenH1696 a lyingH3577 divinationH4738, in that ye sayH559, Jehovah saith; albeit I have not spokenH1696?
8ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Because ye have spokenH1696 falsehoodH7723, and seenH2372 liesH3577, thereforeH3651, behold, I am against you, saith the LordH136 Jehovah. 9And my handH3027 shall beH1961 against the prophetsH5030 that see false visions, and that divineH7080 liesH3577: they shall not beH1961 in the councilH5475 of my peopleH5971, neither shall they beH1961 writtenH3789 in the writingH3789 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, neither shall they enter into the landH127 of IsraelH3478; and ye shall knowH3045 that I am the LordH136 Jehovah. 10Because, even because they have seduced my peopleH5971, sayingH559, PeaceH7965; and there is no peaceH7965; and when one buildeth up a wall, behold, they daub it with untempered mortar: 11sayH559 unto them that daub it with untempered mortar, that it shall fallH5307: there shall beH1961 an overflowingH7857 showerH1653; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fallH5307; and a stormy windH7307 shall rend it. 12Lo, whenH834 the wallH7023 is fallenH5307, shall it not be saidH559 unto you, WhereH834 is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it? 13ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: I will even rend it with a stormy windH7307 in my wrathH2534; and there shall beH1961 an overflowingH7857 showerH1653 in mine angerH639, and great hailstones in wrathH2534 to consume it. 14So will I breakH2040 down the wallH7023 that ye have daubed with untempered mortar, and bring it downH5307 to the groundH776, so that the foundationH3247 thereof shall be uncoveredH1540; and it shall fallH5307, and ye shall be consumed in the midstH8432 thereof: and ye shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah. 15Thus will I accomplish my wrathH2534 upon the wallH7023, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered mortar; and I will sayH559 unto you, The wallH7023 is no more, neither they that daubed it; 16to wit, the prophetsH5030 of IsraelH3478 that prophesyH5012 concerningH413 JerusalemH3389, and that see visionsH2377 of peaceH7965 for her, and there is no peaceH7965, saith the LordH136 Jehovah.
17And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, setH7760 thy faceH6440 against the daughtersH1323 of thy peopleH5971, that prophesyH5012 out of their own heartH3820; and prophesyH5012 thou against them, 18and sayH559, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: WoeH1945 to the women that sewH8609 pillows upon all elbows, and makeH6213 kerchiefs for the headH7218 of personsH5315 of every statureH6967 to huntH6679 soulsH5315! Will ye huntH6679 the soulsH5315 of my peopleH5971, and save soulsH5315 aliveH2421 for yourselves? 19And ye have profanedH2490 me among my peopleH5971 for handfulsH8168 of barleyH8184 and for piecesH6595 of breadH3899, to slay the soulsH5315 that should not dieH4191, and to save the soulsH5315 aliveH2421 that should not liveH2421, by your lyingH3577 to my peopleH5971 that hearken unto liesH3577.
20Wherefore thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there huntH6679 the soulsH5315 to make them fly, and I will tearH7167 them from your armsH2220; and I will let the soulsH5315 goH7971, even the soulsH5315 that ye huntH6679 to make them fly. 21Your kerchiefs also will I tearH7167, and deliverH5337 my peopleH5971 out of your handH3027, and they shall beH1961 no more in your handH3027 to beH1961 hunted; and ye shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah. 22Because with liesH8267 ye have grieved the heartH3820 of the righteousH6662, whom I have not madeH2388 sad, and strengthenedH2388 the handsH3027 of the wickedH7563, that he should not returnH7725 from his wickedH7563 wayH1870, and be saved aliveH2421; 23ThereforeH3651 ye shall no more seeH2372 false visions, nor divineH7080 divinations: and I will deliverH5337 my peopleH5971 out of your handH3027; and ye shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah.
