Ezekiel 9
American Standard Version
1Then he cried in mine earsH241 with a loud voiceH6963, sayingH559, Cause ye them that have charge over the cityH5892 to drawH7126 near, every manH376 with his destroying weaponH3627 in his handH3027. 2And behold, sixH8337 menH376 cameH935 from the wayH1870 of the upperH5945 gateH8179, which lieth toward the northH6828, every manH376 with his slaughter weaponH3627 in his handH3027; and oneH259 manH376 in the midstH8432 of them clothedH3847 in linenH906, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side. And they wentH935 in, and stoodH5975 beside the brazen altarH4196.
3And the gloryH3519 of the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 wasH1961 goneH5927 up from the cherubH3742, whereupon it wasH1961, to the thresholdH4670 of the houseH1004: and he calledH7121 to the manH376 clothedH3847 in linenH906, who had the writer’s inkhorn by his side. 4And Jehovah saidH559 unto him, Go through the midstH8432 of the cityH5892, through the midstH8432 of JerusalemH3389, and set a mark upon the foreheadsH4696 of the menH376 that sigh and that cry over all the abominationsH8441 that are done in the midstH8432 thereof. 5And to the others he saidH559 in my hearing, Go ye through the cityH5892 after him, and smite: let not your eyeH5869 spareH2550, neither have ye pityH2347; 6slayH2026 utterly the oldH2205 manH376, the youngH970 manH376 and the virginH1330, and littleH2945 children and womenH802; but come not near any manH376 upon whom is the mark: and beginH2490 at my sanctuaryH4720. Then they beganH2490 at the oldH2205 menH376 that were before the houseH1004. 7And he saidH559 unto them, DefileH2930 the houseH1004, and fillH4390 the courts with the slain: goH3318 ye forthH3318. And they wentH3318 forthH3318, and smote in the cityH5892. 8And it came to pass, while they wereH1961 smiting, and I wasH1961 leftH7604, that I fellH5307 upon my faceH6440, and criedH2199, and saidH559, Ah LordH136 Jehovah! wilt thou destroyH7843 all the residue of IsraelH3478 in thy pouringH8210 out of thy wrathH2534 upon JerusalemH3389?
9Then saidH559 he unto me, The iniquityH5771 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063 is exceeding greatH1419, and the landH776 is fullH4390 of bloodH1818, and the cityH5892 fullH4390 of wresting of judgment: for they sayH559, Jehovah hath forsaken the landH776, and Jehovah seeth not. 10And as for me alsoH1571, mine eyeH5869 shall not spareH2550, neither will I have pityH2347, but I will bring their wayH1870 upon their headH7218. 11And, behold, the manH376 clothed in linenH906, who had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matterH1697, sayingH559, I have done as thou hast commandedH6680 me.
