Ezekiel 36
American Standard Version
1And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, prophesyH5012 unto the mountainsH2022 of IsraelH3478, and sayH559, Ye mountainsH2022 of IsraelH3478, hearH8085 the wordH1697 of Jehovah. 2ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Because the enemyH341 hath saidH559 against you, AhaH1889! and, The ancient highH1116 placesH1116 areH1961 ours in possessionH4181; 3thereforeH3651 prophesyH5012, and sayH559, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Because, even because they have madeH8074 you desolateH8074, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might beH1961 a possessionH4181 unto the residue of the nationsH1471, and ye are taken up in the lipsH8193 of talkers, and the evilH1681 reportH1681 of the peopleH5971; 4thereforeH3651, ye mountainsH2022 of IsraelH3478, hearH8085 the wordH1697 of the LordH136 Jehovah: ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah to the mountainsH2022 and to the hillsH1389, to the watercourses and to the valleysH1516, to the desolateH8076 wastesH2723 and to the citiesH5892 that are forsaken, which are becomeH1961 a preyH957 and derision to the residue of the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about; 5thereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Surely in the fireH784 of my jealousyH7068 have I spokenH1696 against the residue of the nationsH1471, and against all EdomH123, that have appointed my landH776 unto themselves for a possessionH4181 with the joyH8057 of all their heartH3824, with despite of soulH5315, to cast it out for a preyH957. 6ThereforeH3651 prophesyH5012 concerning the landH127 of IsraelH3478, and sayH559 unto the mountainsH2022 and to the hillsH1389, to the watercourses and to the valleysH1516, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I have spokenH1696 in my jealousyH7068 and in my wrathH2534, because ye have borneH5375 the shame of the nationsH1471: 7thereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: I have sworn, sayingH559, Surely the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about you, they shall bearH5375 their shame.
8But ye, O mountainsH2022 of IsraelH3478, ye shall shoot forth your branchesH6057, and yield your fruitH6529 to my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478; for they are at hand to comeH935. 9For, behold, I am for you, and I will turnH6437 unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sownH2232; 10and I will multiplyH7235 menH120 upon you, all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, even all of it; and the citiesH5892 shall be inhabitedH3427, and the wasteH2723 placesH2723 shall be builded; 11and I will multiplyH7235 upon you manH120 and beast; and they shall increaseH7235 and be fruitfulH6509; and I will cause you to be inhabitedH3427 after your formerH6927 estate, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah. 12Yea, I will cause menH120 to walk upon you, even my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478; and they shall possessH3423 thee, and thou shalt beH1961 their inheritanceH5159, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereaveH7921 them of children. 13ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Because they sayH559 unto you, Thou land art a devourer of menH120, and hast beenH1961 a bereaver of thy nationH1471; 14thereforeH3651 thou shalt devourH398 menH120 no more, neither bereave thy nationH1471 any more, saith the LordH136 Jehovah; 15neither will I let thee hearH8085 any more the shame of the nationsH1471, neither shalt thou bearH5375 the reproachH2781 of the peoplesH5971 any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nationH1471 to stumbleH3782 any more, saith the LordH136 Jehovah.
16Moreover the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 17SonH1121 of manH120, when the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 dweltH3427 in their own landH127, they defiledH2930 it by their wayH1870 and by their doings: their wayH1870 before me wasH1961 as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurityH5079. 18Wherefore I pouredH8210 out my wrathH2534 upon them for the bloodH1818 which they had pouredH8210 out upon the landH776, and because they had defiledH2930 it with their idolsH1544; 19and I scatteredH2219 them among the nationsH1471, and they were dispersedH2219 through the countries: according to their wayH1870 and according to their doings I judgedH8199 them. 20And whenH834 they cameH935 unto the nationsH1471, whither they wentH3318, they profanedH2490 my holyH6944 nameH8034; in that men saidH559 of them, These are the peopleH5971 of Jehovah, and are goneH3318 forthH3318 out of his landH776. 21But I had regard for my holyH6944 nameH8034, which the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 had profanedH2490 among the nationsH1471, whither they wentH935.
22ThereforeH3651 sayH559 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: I do not this for your sakeH4616, O houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, but for my holyH6944 nameH8034, which ye have profanedH2490 among the nationsH1471, whither ye wentH935. 23And I will sanctifyH6942 my greatH1419 nameH8034, which hath been profanedH2490 among the nationsH1471, which ye have profanedH2490 in the midstH8432 of them; and the nationsH1471 shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah, saith the Lord Jehovah, when I shall be sanctifiedH6942 in you before their eyesH5869. 24For I will takeH3947 you from among the nationsH1471, and gatherH6908 you out of all the countries, and will bringH935 you into your own landH776. 25And I will sprinkleH2236 cleanH2889 waterH4325 upon you, and ye shall be cleanH2889: from all your filthiness, and from all your idolsH1544, will I cleanseH2891 you. 26A newH2319 heartH3820 also will I giveH5414 you, and a newH2319 spiritH7307 will I putH5414 within you; and I will take awayH5493 the stony heartH3820 out of your fleshH1320, and I will giveH5414 you a heartH3820 of fleshH1320. 27And I will putH5414 my SpiritH7307 within you, and cause you to walk in my statutesH2706, and ye shall keepH8104 mine ordinancesH4941, and do them. 28And ye shall dwellH3427 in the landH776 that I gaveH5414 to your fathersH1; and ye shall beH1961 my peopleH5971, and I will beH1961 your GodH430. 29And I will saveH3467 you from all your uncleannesses: and I will callH7121 for the grainH1715, and will multiplyH7235 it, and lay no famineH7458 upon you. 30And I will multiplyH7235 the fruitH6529 of the treeH6086, and the increaseH7235 of the fieldH7704, that ye may receiveH3947 no more the reproachH2781 of famineH7458 among the nationsH1471. 31Then shall ye rememberH2142 your evilH7451 waysH1870, and your doings that were not goodH2896; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquitiesH5771 and for your abominationsH8441.
32Nor for your sakeH4616 do Ithis, saith the LordH136 Jehovah, be it knownH3045 unto you: be ashamedH954 and confounded for your waysH1870, O houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 33ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: In the dayH3117 that I cleanseH2891 you from all your iniquitiesH5771, I will cause the citiesH5892 to be inhabitedH3427, and the wasteH2723 placesH2723 shall be builded. 34And the landH776 that wasH1961 desolateH8074 shall beH1961 tilled, whereas it wasH1961 a desolationH8077 in the sight of all that passedH5674 by. 35And they shall sayH559, This landH776 that wasH1961 desolateH8074 is becomeH1961 like the gardenH1588 of EdenH5731; and the waste and desolateH8074 and ruined citiesH5892 are fortifiedH1219 and inhabitedH3427. 36Then the nationsH1471 that are leftH7604 roundH5439 about you shall knowH3045 that I, Jehovah, have builded the ruined places, and plantedH5193 that which was desolateH8074: I, Jehovah, have spokenH1696 it, and I will do it.
37ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, to do it for them: I will increaseH7235 them with menH120 like a flockH6629. 38As the flockH6629 for sacrifice, as the flockH6629 of JerusalemH3389 in her appointedH4150 feastsH4150, soH3651 shall the waste citiesH5892 beH1961 filled with flocksH6629 of menH120; and they shall knowH3045 that I am Jehovah.
