23And He was sayingG3004 to them, “1You are from belowG2736, I amG1510 from aboveG507; 2you are of thisG3778 worldG2889, 3I amG1510 not of thisG3778 worldG2889. 24ThereforeG3767 I saidG3004 to you that you 4will dieG599 in your sinsG266; for unlessG1437 G3361 you believeG4100 that 5 6I amG1510, 7you will dieG599 in your sinsG266.” 25ThenG3767 they were sayingG3004 to Him, “WhoG5101 are You?” JesusG2424 saidG3004 to them, “8WhatG3739 G5101 have I evenG2532 been sayingG2980 to you from the beginningG746? 26I haveG2192 manyG4183 thingsG4183 to sayG2980 and to judgeG2919 regardingG4012 you, but 9He who sentG3992 Me is trueG227; and 10the things whichG3739 I heardG191 from Him, theseG3778 I sayG2980 to the worldG2889.” 27They did not realizeG1097 that He was speakingG3004 to them about the FatherG3962. 28SoG3767 JesusG2424 saidG3004, “WhenG3752 you 11liftG5312 upG5312 the SonG5207 of ManG444, thenG5119 you will knowG1097 that 12 13I amG1510, and 14I doG4160 nothingG3762 15on My ownG1683, but I sayG2980 theseG3778 thingsG3778 as the FatherG3962 instructedG1321 Me. 29And He who sentG3992 Me is with Me; 16He 17has not leftG863 Me aloneG3441, for 18I alwaysG3842 doG4160 the thingsG701 thatG701 areG701 pleasingG701 to Him.” 30As He saidG2980 theseG3778 thingsG3778, 19manyG4183 came to believeG4100 in Him.

31SoG3767 JesusG2424 was sayingG3004 to thoseG3588 JewsG2453 who had believedG4100 Him, “20IfG1437 you continueG3306 in My wordG3056, then you are trulyG230 My 21disciplesG3101; 32and 22you will knowG1097 the truthG225, and 23the truthG225 will setG1659 you freeG1659.” 33They answeredG611 Him, “24We are Abraham’sG11 descendantsG4690 and have neverG3762 G4455 been enslavedG1398 to anyoneG3762; howG4459 is it that You sayG3004, ‘You will becomeG1096 freeG1658’?”

34JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, “TrulyG281, trulyG281 I sayG3004 to you, 25everyoneG3956 who commitsG4160 sinG266 is a slaveG1401 of sinG266. 35NowG1161 26the slaveG1401 does not remainG3306 in the houseG3614 foreverG165; 27the sonG5207 does remainG3306 foreverG165. 36SoG3767 ifG1437 the SonG5207 28setsG1659 you freeG1659, you reallyG3689 will be freeG1658. 37I knowG3609 that you are 29Abraham’sG11 descendantsG4690; yetG235 30you are seekingG2212 to killG615 Me, becauseG3754 My wordG3056 31hasG5562 noG3756 placeG5562 in you. 38I speakG2980 of the things whichG3739 I have seenG3708 32with My FatherG3962; thereforeG3767 you alsoG2532 doG4160 the things whichG3739 you heardG191 from 33your fatherG3962.”
