27For thoseG3588 who liveG2730 in JerusalemG2419, and their 3rulersG758, 4recognizingG50 neither Him norG2532 the 5declarationsG5456 of 6the prophetsG4396 which are 7readG314 everyG3956 SabbathG4521, fulfilledG4137 these by condemningG2919 Him.

28And though they foundG2147 noG3367 groundsG156 for putting Him to deathG2288, they 8askedG154 PilateG4091 that He be executedG337.

29WhenG5613 they had 9carriedG5055 outG5055 everythingG3956 that was writtenG1125 concerningG4012 Him, 10they tookG2507 Him downG2507 from the 1112crossG3586 and 13laidG5087 Him in a tombG3419.

30But GodG2316 14raisedG1453 Him from the deadG3498;

31and for manyG4183 daysG2250 15He appearedG3708 to thoseG3588 who cameG4872 upG4872 withG4872 Him from GalileeG1056 to JerusalemG2419, the veryG3748 onesG3748 whoG3748 are nowG3568 16His witnessesG3144 to the peopleG2992.

32And we 17preachG2097 to you the goodG2097 newsG2097 of 18the promiseG1860 madeG1096 to the fathersG3962,

33that GodG2316 has fulfilledG1603 thisG3778 promise to thoseG3588 of us who are the descendantsG5043 by 19raisingG450 JesusG2424, as it is alsoG2532 writtenG1125 in the secondG1208 PsalmG5568: ‘20You are My SonG5207; todayG4594 I have fatheredG1080 You.’

34As for the fact that He 21raisedG450 Him from the deadG3498, neverG3371 againG3371 to returnG5290 to decayG1312, He has spokenG3004 inG3779 thisG3779 wayG3779: ‘22I will giveG1325 you the holyG3741 and faithfulG4103 mercies of DavidG1160.’

35ThereforeG1360, He alsoG2532 saysG3004 in anotherG2087 Psalm: ‘23You will not 24allowG1325 Your 25HolyG3741 OneG3741 to 26undergoG3708 decayG1312.’

36For 27DavidG1160, after he had 28servedG5256 God’sG2316 29purposeG1012 in his ownG2398 generationG1074, 30fellG2837 asleepG2837, and was 31buriedG4369 amongG4314 his fathersG3962 and 32underwentG3708 decayG1312;

37but He whomG3739 GodG2316 33raisedG1453 did not 34undergoG3708 decayG1312.
