2 Corinthians 1:8-24
8For 1we do not wantG2309 you to be unawareG50, brothersG80 and sisters, of our 2afflictionG2347 which occurredG1096 in 34AsiaG773, that we were burdenedG916 excessivelyG2596G5236, beyondG5228 our strengthG1411, soG5620 thatG5620 we despairedG1820 evenG2532 of lifeG2198. 95IndeedG235, we hadG2192 the sentenceG610 of deathG2288 withinG1722 ourselvesG1438 soG2443 thatG2443 we would not trustG3982 in ourselvesG1438, but in GodG2316 who raisesG1453 the deadG3498, 10whoG3739 6rescuedG4506 us from soG5082 greatG5082 a danger of deathG2288, and will rescueG4506 us, He 78on whomG3739 we have setG1679 our hopeG1679. And He will yetG2089 deliverG4506 us, 11if you alsoG2532 joinG4943 inG4943 9helpingG4943 us through your prayersG1162, soG2443 thatG2443 thanksG2168 may be givenG2168 by 10manyG4183 personsG4383 inG5228 our behalfG5228 for the favorG5486 granted to us throughG1223 the prayers of manyG4183.
12For our 11proudG2746 confidenceG2746 is thisG3778: the testimonyG3142 of 12our conscienceG4893, that in holinessG41 and 13godlyG2316 sincerityG1505, 14not in fleshlyG4559 wisdomG4678 but in the graceG5485 of GodG2316, we have conductedG390 ourselves in the worldG2889, and especiallyG4056 towardG4314 you. 13For we writeG1125 nothingG3756 elseG243 to you thanG2228 whatG3739 you readG314 and understandG1921, and I hopeG1679 you will understandG1921 15untilG2193 the endG5056; 14justG2531 asG2531 you alsoG2532 partiallyG3313 did understandG1921 us, that we are your reasonG2745 toG2745 beG2745 proudG2745 as you alsoG2532 are oursG1473, on 16the dayG2250 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424.
15In thisG3778 confidenceG4006 I intendedG1014 at firstG4387 to 17comeG2064 to you, soG2443 thatG2443 you might 18twiceG1208 receiveG2192 a 1920blessingG5485; 1621that is, to 22passG1330 23your wayG1223 into 24MacedoniaG3109, and againG3825 from MacedoniaG3109 to comeG2064 to you, and by you to be 25helpedG4311 onG4311 my journeyG4311 to JudeaG2449. 17ThereforeG3767, I was not vacillatingG5530G1644 when I intendedG1014 to do thisG3778, was I? OrG2228 whatG3739 I decideG1011, do I decideG1011 26accordingG2596 to the fleshG4561, soG2443 thatG2443 with me there will be 27yesG3483, yesG3483 and noG3756, noG3756 at the same time? 18But as 28GodG2316 is faithfulG4103, 29our wordG3056 to you is not yesG3483 and noG3756. 19For 30the SonG5207 of GodG2316, ChristG5547 JesusG2424, who was preachedG2784 amongG1722 you by us--by me and 31SilvanusG4610 and 32TimothyG5095--was not yesG3483 and noG3756, but has beenG1096 yesG3483 33in Him. 20For 34as manyG3745 as the promisesG1860 of GodG2316 are, 35in Him they are yesG3483; thereforeG1352 throughG1223 Him alsoG2532 is 36our AmenG281 to the gloryG1391 of GodG2316 throughG1223 us. 21NowG1161 He who 37establishesG950 us with you in ChristG5547 and 38anointedG5548 us is GodG2316, 22who alsoG2532 39sealedG4972 us and 40gaveG1325 us the SpiritG4151 in our heartsG2588 as a 41pledgeG728.
23But 42I callG1941 GodG2316 as witnessG3144 to my soulG5590, that it was 43to spareG5339 you that I did not comeG2064 againG3765 to 44CorinthG2882. 24Not that we 45domineerG2961 overG2961 your faithG4102, but we are workersG4904 with you for your joyG5479; for in your faithG4102 you are 46standingG2476 firmG2476.
