Genesis 4:3-15

3So it cameH1961 about 1in the courseH4480H7093 of timeH3117 that CainH7014 broughtH935 an offeringH4503 to the LordH3068 of the fruitH6529 of the groundH127. 42AbelH1893, on his partH1571 alsoH1571 broughtH935 of the firstlingsH1060 of his flockH6629 and of their fatH2459 portionsH2459. And 3the LordH3068 hadH8159 regardH8159 for AbelH1893 and for his offeringH4503; 5but 4for CainH7014 and for his offeringH4503 He hadH8159 noH3808 regardH8159. So 5CainH7014 becameH2734 veryH3966 angryH2734 and his countenanceH6440 fellH5307. 6Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to CainH7014, “6WhyH4100 are you angryH2734? And whyH4100 has your countenanceH6440 fallenH5307? 77IfH518 you doH3190 wellH3190, 8will not your countenance be liftedH7613 up? 9And ifH518 you do not doH3190 wellH3190, sinH2403 is crouchingH7257 at the doorH6607; and its desireH8669 is for you, 10but you must masterH4910 it.” 8CainH7014 11toldH559 AbelH1893 his brotherH251. And it cameH1961 about when they were in the fieldH7704, that CainH7014 roseH6965 up againstH413 AbelH1893 his brotherH251 and 12killedH2026 him.

9Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to CainH7014, “13WhereH335 is AbelH1893 your brotherH251?” And he saidH559, “I do not knowH3045. Am I my brother’sH251 keeperH8104?” 10He saidH559, “WhatH4100 have you doneH6213? 14The voiceH6963 of your brother’sH251 bloodH1818 is cryingH6817 to Me from the groundH127. 11NowH6258 15you are cursedH779 from the groundH127, whichH834 has openedH6475 its mouthH6310 to receiveH3947 your brother’sH251 bloodH1818 from your handH3027. 1216WhenH3588 you cultivateH5647 the groundH127, it will noH3808 longerH3254 yieldH5414 its strengthH3581 to you; 17you will be a vagrantH5128 and a wandererH5110 on the earthH776.” 13CainH7014 saidH559 to the LordH3068, “My punishmentH5771 is tooH4480 greatH1419 to bearH5375! 14BeholdH2005, You have 18drivenH1644 me this dayH3117 from the faceH6440 of the groundH127; and from Your faceH6440 I will be hiddenH5641, and 19I will be a vagrantH5128 and a wandererH5110 on the earthH776, and 20whoeverH3605 findsH4672 me will killH2026 me.” 15So the LordH3068 saidH559 to him, “ThereforeH3651 whoeverH3605 killsH2026 CainH7014, vengeanceH5358 will be takenH5358 on him 21sevenfoldH7659.” And the LordH3068 2223appointedH7760 a signH226 for CainH7014, so that noH3605 oneH3605 findingH4672 him would slayH5221 him.
