The Flood Subsides

1But 1GodH430 rememberedH2142 NoahH5146 and allH3605 the beastsH2421 and allH3605 the cattleH929 that were with him in the arkH8392; and 2GodH430 caused a windH7307 to passH5674 overH5921 the earthH776, and the waterH4325 subsidedH7918. 2Also 3the fountainsH4599 of the deepH8415 and the 4floodgatesH699 of the skyH8064 were closedH5534, and 5the rainH1653 from the skyH8064 was restrainedH3607; 3and the waterH4325 recededH7725 steadilyH1980 from the earthH776, and at the endH7097 6of one hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 daysH3117 the waterH4325 decreasedH2637. 4In the seventhH7637 monthH2320, on the seventeenthH7651H6240 dayH3117 of the monthH2320, 7the arkH8392 restedH5117 upon the mountainsH2022 of AraratH780. 5The waterH4325 decreasedH2637 steadilyH1980 untilH5704 the tenthH6224 monthH2320; in the tenthH6224 month, on the firstH259 day of the monthH2320, the topsH7218 of the mountainsH2022 becameH7200 visibleH7200.

6Then it cameH1961 about at the endH7093 of fortyH705 daysH3117, that NoahH5146 openedH6605 the 8windowH2474 of the arkH8392 whichH834 he had madeH6213; 7and he sentH7971 out a ravenH6158, and it 9flewH3318 hereH3318 and thereH7725 untilH5704 the waterH4325 was driedH3001 up 10from the earthH776. 8Then he sentH7971 out a doveH3123 from him, to seeH7200 if the waterH4325 was abatedH7043 from the faceH6440 of the landH127; 9but the doveH3123 foundH4672 noH3808 restingH4494 placeH4494 for the soleH3709 of her footH7272, so she returnedH7725 to him into the arkH8392, for the waterH4325 was on the 11surfaceH6440 of allH3605 the earthH776. Then he putH7971 out his handH3027 and tookH3947 her, and broughtH935 her into the arkH8392 to himself. 10So he waitedH2342 yetH5750 anotherH312 sevenH7651 daysH3117; and againH3254 he sentH7971 out the doveH3123 from the arkH8392. 11The doveH3123 cameH935 to him toward 12eveningH6153, and beholdH2009, in her 13beakH6310 was a freshlyH2965 pickedH2965 oliveH2132 leafH5929. So NoahH5146 knewH3045 that the waterH4325 was abatedH7043 from the earthH776. 12Then he waitedH3176 yetH5750 anotherH312 sevenH7651 daysH3117, and sentH7971 out 14the doveH3123; but she did not returnH7725 to him againH3254.

13Now it cameH1961 about in the 15sixH8337 hundredH3967 and firstH259 yearH8141, in the firstH7223 month, on the firstH259 of the monthH2320, the waterH4325 was driedH2717 up 16from the earthH776. Then NoahH5146 removedH5493 the coveringH4372 of the arkH8392, and lookedH7200, and beholdH2009, the 17surfaceH6440 of the groundH127 was driedH2717 up. 14In the secondH8145 monthH2320, on the twenty-seventhH6242H7651 dayH3117 of the monthH2320, the earthH776 was dryH3001. 15Then GodH430 spokeH1696 to NoahH5146, sayingH559, 16“GoH3318 out of the arkH8392, you and your wifeH802 and your sonsH1121 and your sons’H1121 wivesH802 with you. 17BringH3318 out with you everyH3605 livingH2421 thingH2421 of allH3605 fleshH1320 that is with you, birdsH5775 and animalsH929 and everyH3605 creepingH7431 thingH7431 that creepsH7430 on the earthH776, that they may 1819breedH8317 abundantlyH8317 on the earthH776, and be fruitfulH6509 and multiplyH7235 on the earthH776.” 18So NoahH5146 wentH3318 out, and his sonsH1121 and his wifeH802 and his sons’H1121 wivesH802 with him. 19EveryH3605 beastH2421, everyH3605 creepingH7431 thingH7431, and everyH3605 birdH5775, everythingH3605 that movesH7430 on the earthH776, wentH3318 out 20by their familiesH4940 from the arkH8392.

20Then NoahH5146 builtH1129 21an altarH4196 to the LordH3068, and tookH3947 of everyH3605 22cleanH2889 animalH929 and of everyH3605 cleanH2889 birdH5775 and offeredH5927 23burntH5930 offeringsH5930 on the altarH4196. 21The LordH3068 24smelledH7381 the soothingH5207 aromaH7381; and the LordH3068 saidH559 25to HimselfH3820, “I will neverH3808H5750 againH3254 26curseH7043 the groundH127 on accountH5668 of manH120, for 27the 28intentH3336 of man’sH120 heartH3820 is evilH7451 from his youthH5271; 29and I will neverH3808H5750 againH3254 30destroyH5221 everyH3605 livingH2416 thingH2416, as I have doneH6213.22WhileH5750 the earthH776 remainsH5750, SeedtimeH2233 and harvestH7105, And coldH7120 and heatH2527, And 31summerH7019 and winterH2779, And 32dayH3117 and nightH3915 Shall not ceaseH7673.”
