Genesis 4:3-15
3So it cameH1961 aboutH1961 1in the courseH4480H7093 of timeH3117 that CainH7014 broughtH935 an offeringH4503 to the LordH3068 from the fruitH6529 of the groundH127. 42AbelH1893, on his partH1571 alsoH1571 broughtH935 an offering, from the firstbornH1060 of his flockH6629 and from their fatH2459 portionsH2459. And 3the LordH3068 hadH8159 regardH8159 for AbelH1893 and his offeringH4503; 5but 4for CainH7014 and his offeringH4503 He hadH8159 noH3808 regardH8159. So 5CainH7014 becameH2734 veryH3966 angryH2734 and his faceH6440 6wasH5307 gloomyH5307. 6Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to CainH7014, “7WhyH4100 areH2734 you angryH2734? And whyH4100 isH5307 your faceH6440 8gloomyH5307? 79IfH518 you doH3190 wellH3190, 10will your face not be 11cheerfulH7613? 12And ifH518 you do not doH3190 wellH3190, sinH2403 is lurkingH7257 at the doorH6607; and its desireH8669 is for you, 13but you must masterH4910 it.” 8CainH7014 14talkedH559 to his brotherH251 AbelH1893; and it happenedH1961 that when they were in the fieldH7704 CainH7014 roseH6965 upH6965 againstH413 his brotherH251 AbelH1893 and 15killedH2026 him.
9Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to CainH7014, “16WhereH335 is AbelH1893 your brotherH251?” And he saidH559, “I do not knowH3045. Am I my brother’sH251 keeperH8104?” 10Then He saidH559, “WhatH4100 have you doneH6213? 17The voiceH6963 of your brother’sH251 bloodH1818 is cryingH6817 outH6817 to Me from the groundH127. 11NowH6258 18you are cursedH779 from the groundH127, whichH834 has openedH6475 its mouthH6310 to receiveH3947 your brother’sH251 bloodH1818 from your handH3027. 1219WhenH3588 you cultivateH5647 the groundH127, it will noH3808 longerH3254 yieldH5414 its strengthH3581 to you; 20you will be a wandererH5128 and a drifterH5110 on the earthH776.” 13CainH7014 saidH559 to the LordH3068, “My punishmentH5771 is tooH4480 greatH1419 to endureH5375! 14BeholdH2005, You have 21drivenH1644 me this dayH3117 from the faceH6440 of the groundH127; and I will be hiddenH5641 from Your faceH6440, and 22I will be a wandererH5128 and a drifterH5110 on the earthH776, and 23whoeverH3605 findsH4672 me will killH2026 me.” 15So the LordH3068 saidH559 to him, “ThereforeH3651 whoeverH3605 killsH2026 CainH7014, vengeanceH5358 will be takenH5358 on him 24sevenH7659 timesH7659 as much.” And the LordH3068 2526placedH7760 a markH226 on CainH7014, so that noH3605 oneH3605 findingH4672 him would killH5221 him.
