Joseph Deals Kindly with His Brothers

1Then JosephH3130 couldH3201 not controlH662 himself before allH3605 those who stoodH5324 by him, and he criedH7121, “Have everyoneH3605 goH3318 out from me.” So there 1was noH3808 manH376 with him 2when JosephH3130 madeH3045 himself knownH3045 to his brothersH251. 23He 4weptH5414H6963H1065 so loudlyH6963 that the EgyptiansH4714 heardH8085 it, and the householdH1004 of PharaohH6547 heardH8085 of it. 3Then JosephH3130 saidH559 to his brothersH251, “5I am JosephH3130! 6Is my fatherH1 stillH5750 aliveH2416?” But his brothersH251 couldH3201 not answerH6030 him, for 7they were dismayedH926 at his presenceH6440.

4Then JosephH3130 saidH559 to his brothersH251, “PleaseH4994 comeH5066 8closerH5066 to me.” And they cameH5066 9closerH5066. And he saidH559, “I am your brotherH251 JosephH3130, whomH834 you 10soldH4376 into EgyptH4714. 5NowH6258 do not be grievedH6087 or angryH2734 11with yourselvesH5869, becauseH3588 12you soldH4376 me hereH2008, for 13GodH430 sentH7971 me beforeH6440 you to preserveH4241 lifeH4241. 6For the famineH7458 has been in the landH776 14theseH2088 two yearsH8141, and there are stillH5750 fiveH2568 yearsH8141 in whichH834 thereH369 will be neitherH369 plowingH2758 norH369 harvestingH7105. 715GodH430 sentH7971 me beforeH6440 you to preserveH7760 for you a remnantH7611 in the earthH776, and to keepH2421 you aliveH2421 by a greatH1419 16deliveranceH6413. 8NowH6258, therefore, it was not you who sentH7971 me hereH2008, but GodH430; and He has madeH7760 me a 17fatherH1 to PharaohH6547 and lordH113 of allH3605 his householdH1004 and rulerH4910 over allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 9HurryH4116 and goH5927 up to my fatherH1, and 18sayH559 to him, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 your sonH1121 JosephH3130, “GodH430 has madeH7760 me lordH113 of allH3605 EgyptH4714; comeH3381 downH3381 to me, do not delayH5975. 10You shall 19liveH3427 in the landH776 of 20GoshenH1657, and you shall be nearH7138 me, you and your childrenH1121 and your children’sH1121 childrenH1121 and your flocksH6629 and your herdsH1241 and allH3605 that you have. 11ThereH8033 I will also 21provideH3557 for you, for there are stillH5750 fiveH2568 yearsH8141 of famineH7458 to come, and you and your householdH1004 and allH3605 that you have would be impoverishedH3423.”’ 12BeholdH2009, your eyesH5869 seeH7200, and the eyesH5869 of my brotherH251 BenjaminH1144 see, that it is my mouthH6310 which is speakingH1696 to you. 13Now you must tellH5046 my fatherH1 of allH3605 my splendorH3519 in EgyptH4714, and allH3605 that you have seenH7200; and you must hurryH4116 and 22bringH3381 my fatherH1 downH3381 hereH2008.” 14Then he fellH5307 on his brotherH251 Benjamin’sH1144 neckH6677 and 23weptH1058, and BenjaminH1144 weptH1058 on his neckH6677. 15He kissedH5401 allH3605 his brothersH251 and weptH1058 on them, and afterwardH310H3651 his brothersH251 talkedH1696 with him.

16Now when 24the 25newsH6963 was heardH8085 in Pharaoh’sH6547 houseH1004 26that Joseph’sH3130 brothersH251 had comeH935, it 27pleasedH3190H5869 PharaohH6547 and his servantsH5650. 17Then PharaohH6547 saidH559 to JosephH3130, “SayH559 to your brothersH251, ‘DoH6213 thisH2088: loadH2943 your beastsH1165 and 28goH1980H935 to the landH776 of CanaanH3667, 18and takeH3947 your fatherH1 and your householdsH1004 and comeH935 to me, and 29I will giveH5414 you the 30bestH2898 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 and you will eatH398 the fatH2459 of the landH776.’ 19Now you are orderedH6680, ‘DoH6213 thisH2088: 31takeH3947 32wagonsH5699 from the landH776 of EgyptH4714 for your littleH2945 onesH2945 and for your wivesH802, and bringH5375 your fatherH1 and comeH935. 20Do not 33concernH2347H5869 yourselvesH5869 with your goodsH3627, for the 34bestH2898 of allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 is yours.’”

21Then the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 didH6213 soH3651; and JosephH3130 gaveH5414 them 35wagonsH5699 accordingH5921 to the 36commandH6310 of PharaohH6547, and gaveH5414 them provisionsH6720 for the journeyH1870. 22To 37eachH3605H376 of them he gaveH5414 38changesH2487 of garmentsH8071, but to BenjaminH1144 he gaveH5414 threeH7969 hundredH3967 pieces of silverH3701 and 39fiveH2568 changesH2487 of garmentsH8071. 23To his fatherH1 he sentH7971 40as followsH2088: tenH6235 donkeysH2543 loadedH5375 with the 41bestH2898 thingsH2898 of EgyptH4714, and tenH6235 femaleH860 donkeysH860 loadedH5375 with grainH1250 and breadH3899 and sustenanceH4202 for his fatherH1 42on the journeyH1870.

24So he sentH7971 his brothersH251 awayH7971, and 43as they departedH1980, he saidH559 to them, “Do not 44quarrelH7264 on the journeyH1870.” 25Then they wentH5927 up from EgyptH4714, and cameH935 to the landH776 of CanaanH3667 to their fatherH1 JacobH3290. 26They toldH5046 him, sayingH559, “JosephH3130 is stillH5750 aliveH2416, and indeedH3588 he is rulerH4910 over allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714.” But 45he was stunnedH6313, for 46he did not believeH539 them. 27When they toldH1696 him allH3605 the wordsH1697 of JosephH3130 that he had spokenH1696 to them, and when he sawH7200 the 47wagonsH5699 that JosephH3130 had sentH7971 to carryH5375 him, the spiritH7307 of their fatherH1 JacobH3290 revivedH2421. 28Then IsraelH3478 saidH559, “It is enoughH7227; my sonH1121 JosephH3130 is stillH5750 aliveH2416. I will goH1980 and seeH7200 him beforeH2962 I dieH4191.”
