2 Peter 3:2-18
2that you should 1rememberG3403 the wordsG4487 spokenG4275 beforehandG4275 by 2the holyG40 prophetsG4396 and 3the commandmentG1785 of the LordG2962 and SaviorG4990 spoken by your apostlesG652. 34KnowG1097 thisG3778 firstG4413 of all, that 5in the lastG2078 daysG2250 6mockersG1703 will comeG2064 with their mockingG1701, 7followingG4198 afterG2596 their ownG2398 lustsG1939, 4and sayingG3004, “8WhereG4226 is the promiseG1860 of His 9comingG3952? For ever sinceG575G3739 the fathersG3962 10fellG2837 asleepG2837, allG3956 continuesG1265 justG3779 as it was 11from the beginningG746 of creationG2937.” 5For 12when they maintainG2309 thisG3778, it escapesG2990 their noticeG2990 that 13by the wordG3056 of GodG2316 the heavensG3772 existedG1510 longG1597 agoG1597 and the earthG1093 was 14formedG4921 out of waterG5204 and by waterG5204, 6throughG1223 whichG3739 15the worldG2889 at that timeG5119 was 16destroyedG622, being floodedG2626 with waterG5204. 7But by His wordG3056 17the presentG3568 heavensG3772 and earthG1093 are being reservedG2343 for 18fireG4442, keptG5083 for 19the dayG2250 of judgmentG2920 and destructionG684 of ungodlyG765 menG444.
8But do not let thisG3778 oneG1520 fact escapeG2990 your noticeG2990, 20belovedG27, that with the LordG2962 oneG1520 dayG2250 is likeG5613 a thousandG5507 yearsG2094, and 21a thousandG5507 yearsG2094 likeG5613 oneG1520 dayG2250. 922The LordG2962 is not slowG1019 about His promiseG1860, as someG5100 countG2233 slownessG1022, but 23is patientG3114 towardG1519 you, 24not wishingG1014 for anyG5100 to perishG622 but for allG3956 to comeG5562 to repentanceG3341. 10But 25the dayG2250 of the LordG2962 26will comeG2240 likeG5613 a thiefG2812, in whichG3739 27the heavensG3772 28will passG3928 awayG3928 with a roarG4500 and the 29elementsG4747 will be destroyedG3089 with intenseG2741 heatG2741, and 30the earthG1093 and 31its worksG2041 will be 32burnedG2618 up.
11Since allG3956 theseG3778 thingsG3778 are to be destroyedG3089 in thisG3779 wayG3779, whatG4217 sortG4217 of people oughtG1163 you to be in holyG40 conductG391 and godlinessG2150, 1233lookingG4328 for and hasteningG4692 the comingG3952 of the dayG2250 of GodG2316, becauseG1223 of whichG3739 34the heavensG3772 will be destroyedG3089 by burningG4448, and the 35elementsG4747 will meltG5080 with intenseG2741 heatG2741! 13But accordingG2596 to His 36promiseG1862 we are lookingG4328 for 37newG2537 heavensG3772 and a newG2537 earthG1093, 38in whichG3739 righteousnessG1343 dwellsG2730.
1439ThereforeG1352, 40belovedG27, since you lookG4328 for theseG3778 thingsG3778, be diligentG4704 to be 41foundG2147 by Him in peaceG1515, 42spotlessG784 and blamelessG298, 15and regardG2233 the 43patienceG3115 of our LordG2962 as salvationG4991; justG2531 as alsoG2532 44our belovedG27 brotherG80 PaulG3972, 45accordingG2596 to the wisdomG4678 givenG1325 him, wroteG1125 to you, 16as alsoG2532 in allG3956 his lettersG1992, speakingG2980 in them of 46theseG3778 thingsG3778, 47in whichG3739 are someG5100 thingsG5100 hardG1425 to understandG1425, whichG3739 the untaughtG261 and 48unstableG793 distortG4761, as they do alsoG2532 49the restG3062 of the ScripturesG1124, to their ownG2398 destructionG684. 17You thereforeG3767, 50belovedG27, knowingG4267 this beforehandG4267, 51be on your guardG5442 soG2443G3361 that you are not carriedG4879 awayG4879 by 52the errorG4106 of 53unprincipledG113 menG113 and 54fallG1601 from your ownG2398 steadfastnessG4740, 18but growG837 in the graceG5485 and 55knowledgeG1108 of our 56LordG2962 and SaviorG4990 JesusG2424 ChristG5547. 57To Him be the gloryG1391, bothG2532 nowG3568 and to the dayG2250 of eternityG165. AmenG281.
