Psalms 27
A Psalm of David.
1Jehovah is my lightH216 and my salvationH3468;Whom shall I fearH3372?Jehovah is the strength of my lifeH2416;Of whom shall I be afraidH3372?2When evil-doers came upon me to eatH398 up my fleshH1320,Even mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbledH3782 and fellH5307.3Though a host should encampH2583 against me,My heartH3820 shall not fearH3372:Though warH4421 should riseH6965 against me,Even then will I be confidentH982.4OneH259 thing have I askedH7592 of Jehovah, that will I seekH1245 after:That I may dwellH3427 in the houseH1004 of Jehovah all the daysH3117 of my life,To beholdH2372 the beauty of Jehovah,And to inquire in his temple.5For in the dayH3117 of troubleH7451 he will keep me secretly in his pavilion:In the covert of his tabernacle will he hideH5641 me;He will liftH7311 me up upon a rockH6697.6And nowH6258 shall my headH7218 be liftedH7311 up above mine enemiesH341 roundH5439 about me;And I will offerH2076 in his tabernacle sacrificesH2077 of joyH8643;I will singH2167, yea, I will singH2167 praisesH2167 unto Jehovah.7HearH8085, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voiceH6963:Have mercy also upon me, and answerH6030 me.8When thou saidst, SeekH1245 ye my faceH6440; my heartH3820 saidH559 unto thee,Thy faceH6440, Jehovah, will I seekH1245.9HideH5641 not thy faceH6440 from me;Put not thy servantH5650 away in angerH639:Thou hast beenH1961 my helpH5833;Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O GodH430 of my salvationH3468.10When my fatherH1 and my motherH517 forsakeH5800 me,Then Jehovah will take me up.11TeachH3384 me thy wayH1870, O Jehovah; And leadH5148 me in a plainH4334 pathH734,Because of mine enemies.12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries:For false witnessesH5707 are risenH6965 up against me,And such as breathe out cruelty.13I had fainted, unless I had believedH539 to seeH7200 the goodnessH2898 of JehovahIn the landH776 of the living.14WaitH6960 for Jehovah:Be strongH2388, and let thy heartH3820 takeH2388 courage;Yea, waitH6960 thou for Jehovah.
