Psalms 27

A Psalm of Fearless Trust in God.

A Psalm of David.

1The LordH3068 is my 1lightH216 and my 2salvationH3468; WhomH4310 should I fearH3372? The LordH3068 is the 3 4defenseH4581 of my lifeH2425; 5WhomH4310 should I dreadH6342?2When evildoersH7489 cameH7126 upon me to 6devourH398 my fleshH1320, My adversariesH6862 and my enemiesH340, they 7stumbledH3782 and fellH5307.3IfH518 an 8armyH4264 encampsH2583 againstH5921 me, My heartH3820 will not fearH3372; IfH518 warH4421 arisesH6965 againstH5921 me, In spite of thisH2088 I am 9confidentH982.

4 10OneH259 thingH259 I have askedH7592 from the LordH3068, that I shall seekH1245: That I may 11dwellH3427 in the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 allH3605 the daysH3117 of my lifeH2425, To beholdH2372 12the 13beautyH5278 of the LordH3068 And to 14 15meditateH1239 in His templeH1964.5For on the 16dayH3117 of troubleH7463 He will 17concealH6845 me in His 18tabernacleH5520; He will 19hideH5641 me in the secretH5643 placeH5643 of His tentH168; He will 20liftH7311 me upH7311 on a rockH6697.6And nowH6258 21my headH7218 will be liftedH7311 upH7311 aboveH5921 my enemiesH340 aroundH5439 me, And I will offerH2076 22sacrificesH2077 in His tentH168 23with shoutsH8643 ofH8643 joyH8643; I will 24singH7891, yes, I will singH2167 praisesH2167 to the LordH3068.

7 25HearH8085, LordH3068, when I cryH7121 with my voiceH6963, And beH2603 graciousH2603 to me and 26answerH6030 me.8When You said, “27SeekH1245 My faceH6440,” my heartH3820 saidH559 to You, “28I shall seekH1245 Your faceH6440, LordH3068.”9 29Do not hideH5641 Your faceH6440 from me, Do not turnH5186 Your servantH5650 awayH5186 in 30angerH639; You have beenH1961 31my helpH5833; 32Do not abandonH5203 me norH408 33forsakeH5800 me, GodH430 of my salvationH3468!10 34For my fatherH1 and 35my motherH517 have forsakenH5800 me, But 36the LordH3068 will takeH622 me upH622.

11 37TeachH3384 me Your wayH1870, LordH3068, And leadH5148 me on a 38levelH4334 pathH734 BecauseH4616 of my enemiesH7796.12Do not turnH5414 me overH5414 to the 39 40desireH5315 of my enemiesH6862, For 41falseH8267 witnessesH5707 have risenH6965 against me, And the violentH2555 42witnessH3307.13I certainlyH3884 believedH539 that I would seeH7200 the 43goodnessH2898 of the LordH3068 In the 44landH776 of the livingH2416.14 45WaitH6960 for the LordH3068; Be 46strongH2388 and let your heartH3820 takeH553 courageH553; Yes, waitH6960 for the LordH3068.
