Leviticus 25:39-55

39And if thy brotherH251 grow poor beside thee, and be soldH4376 unto thee, thou shalt not compel him to serveH5647 as a bondservant: 40as a hired servant, as a sojourner, shall he beH1961 with thee; until the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104 shall he serveH5647 thee. 41Then shall he depart from thee, he and his children with him, and shall returnH7725 unto his ownH272 familyH4940, and unto the possessionH272 of his fathersH1 shall he returnH7725. 42For they are my bondmen, whom I broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714: they shall not be soldH4376 as [men] sellH4376 bondmen. 43Thou shalt not ruleH7287 over him with rigour; and thou shalt fearH3372 thy 1GodH430. 44And as for thy bondman and thy handmaid whom thou shalt have — of the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about you, of them shall ye buyH7069 bondmen and handmaids. 45Moreover of the children of them that dwell as sojourners with you, of them may ye buyH7069, and of their familyH4940 that is with you, which they beget in your landH776, and they shall beH1961 your possessionH272. 46And ye shall leave them as an inheritanceH5157 to your children after you, to inheritH5157 them as a possessionH272: these may ye make your bondmen for everH5769; but as for your brethren, the children of IsraelH3478, ye shall not ruleH7287 over oneH376 another with rigour. 47And if a stranger or sojourner become wealthy beside thee, and thy brotherH251 beside him grow poor, and sellH4376 himself unto the stranger, who is settled by thee, or to a scion of the stranger's familyH4940, 48after that he isH1961 soldH4376 there shall beH1961 rightH1353 of redemptionH1353 for him; oneH259 of his brethren may redeemH1350 him. 49Either his uncleH1730 or his uncle's sonH1121 may redeemH1350 him, or one of his next relations of his familyH4940 may redeemH1350 him; or if his means be sufficient, he may redeemH1350 himself. 50And he shall reckon with him that boughtH7069 him from the yearH8141 that he wasH1961 soldH4376 to him unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104; and the price of his saleH4465 shall beH1961 according to the numberH4557 of the yearsH8141, according to the daysH3117 of a hired servant shall he beH1961 with him. 51If there are yetH5750 manyH7227 yearsH8141, according unto them shall he returnH7725 his redemptionH1353 [moneyH3701] out of the moneyH3701 that he was bought for; 52and if there remainH7604 but fewH4592 yearsH8141 unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104, then he shall reckon with him; according unto his [remainingH7604] yearsH8141 [of service] shall he give him backH7725 his redemptionH1353 [money]. 53As a hired servant shall he beH1961 with him yearH8141 by yearH8141; [his master] shall not ruleH7287 with rigour over him before thine eyesH5869. 54And if he be not redeemedH1350 in this manner, then he shall goH3318 out in the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104, he and his children with him. 55For the children of IsraelH3478 are servantsH5650 unto me; they are my servantsH5650 whom I broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714: I am Jehovah your 2GodH430.
