Leviticus 26

Darby Bible

1Ye shall makeH5414 yourselves no idolsH457, neither rear you up for yourselves carved imageH6459, or statue, nor shall ye setH5414 up a figured stoneH68 in your landH776, to bowH7812 downH7812 unto it; for I am Jehovah your 1GodH430. 2Ye shall observeH8104 my sabbathsH7676, and my sanctuaryH4720 shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah. 3If ye walk in my statutesH2708, and observeH8104 my commandmentsH4687 and do them, 4then I will giveH5414 your rainH1653 in the season thereof, and the landH776 shall yield its produceH6529, and the treesH6086 of the fieldH7704 shall yield their fruitH6529; 5and your threshing shall reachH5381 unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reachH5381 unto the sowing-time; and ye shall eatH398 your breadH3899 to the full, and dwellH3427 in your landH776 securely. 6And I will giveH5414 peaceH7965 in the landH776, and ye shall lieH7901 down, and none shall makeH5414 you afraid; and I will putH5414 away the evilH7451 beasts out of the landH776; and the swordH2719 shall not go through your landH776. 7And ye shall chase your enemiesH341, and they shall fallH5307 before you by the swordH2719; 8and fiveH2568 of you shall chase a hundredH3967, and a hundredH3967 of you shall put tenH7233 thousandH7233 to flight; and your enemiesH341 shall fallH5307 beside you by the swordH2719. 9And I will turnH6437 my face towards you and makeH6509 you fruitfulH6509, and multiplyH7235 you, and establishH6965 my covenantH1285 with you. 10And ye shall eatH398 oldH3465 store, and clear away the oldH3465 because of the newH2319. 11And I will setH5414 my habitation among you; and my soulH5315 shall not abhorH1602 you; 12and I will walkH1980 among you, and will beH1961 your 2GodH430, and ye shall beH1961 to me a peopleH5971. 13I am Jehovah your 3GodH430, who broughtH3318 you forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, that ye should not beH1961 their bondmen; and I have brokenH7665 the bands of your yokeH5923, and made you walk upright. 14But if ye hearken not unto me, and do not all these commandmentsH4687, 15and if ye shall despise my statutesH2708, and if your soulH5315 shall abhorH1602 mine ordinancesH4941, so that ye do not all my commandmentsH4687, that ye breakH6565 my covenantH1285, 16I alsoH637 will do this unto you — I will evenH637 appointH6485 over you terrorH928, consumptionH7829, and feverH6920, which shall cause the eyesH5869 to failH3615, and the soulH5315 to waste awayH3615; and ye shall sowH2232 your seedH2233 in vain, for your enemiesH341 shall eatH398 it. 17And I will setH5414 my faceH6440 against you, that ye may be routed before your enemiesH341; they that hateH8130 you shall have dominion over you; and ye shall fleeH5127 when none pursueth you. 18And if for this ye hearken not unto me, I will punishH3256 you sevenfold more for your sinsH2403, 19and I will breakH7665 the arrogance of your power; and I will makeH5414 your heavenH8064 as ironH1270, and your earthH776 as bronzeH5154, 20and your strengthH3581 shall be spent in vain, and your landH776 shall not yield its produceH6529; and the treesH6086 of the landH776 shall not yield their fruitH6529. 21And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me, I will bring sevenfold more plaguesH4347 upon you according to your sinsH2403. 22And I will sendH7971 the beasts of the fieldH7704 among you, that they may rob you of your children, and cutH3772 off your cattleH929, and makeH3772 you fewH4591 in number; and your streets shall be desolateH8074. 23And if ye will not be disciplinedH3256 by me through these, but walkH1980 contrary unto me, 24then will I alsoH1571 walkH1980 contrary unto you, and will smite you, even I, sevenfold for your sinsH2403. 25And I will bringH935 a swordH2719 upon you that avengeth with the vengeanceH5359 of the covenantH1285, and ye shall be gatheredH622 together into your citiesH5892, and I will sendH7971 the pestilenceH1698 among you; and ye shall be delivered into the handH3027 of the enemyH341. 26When I breakH7665 the staffH4294 of your breadH3899, tenH6235 womenH802 shall bakeH644 your breadH3899 in oneH259 ovenH8574, and shall deliver you the breadH3899 again by weightH4948; and ye shall eatH398, and not be satisfiedH7646. 27And if for this ye hearken not to me, but walkH1980 contrary unto me, 28then I will walkH1980 contrary unto you alsoH637 in fury; and I, evenH637 I, will chastise you seven-fold for your sinsH2403. 29And ye shall eatH398 the fleshH1320 of your sonsH1121, and the fleshH1320 of your daughtersH1323 shall ye eatH398. 30And I will lay waste your highH1116 placesH1116, and cutH3772 down your sun-pillars, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idolsH1544; and my soulH5315 shall abhorH1602 you. 31And I will lay wasteH2723 your citiesH5892 and desolateH8074 your sanctuariesH4720; and I will not smellH7306 your sweet odours. 32And I will bring the landH776 into desolation; that your enemiesH341 who dwellH3427 there in may be astonished at it. 33And I will scatterH2219 you among the nationsH1471, and will draw out the swordH2719 after you; and your landH776 shall beH1961 desolationH8077, and your citiesH5892 wasteH2723. 34ThenH227 shall the landH776 enjoy its sabbathsH7676 all the daysH3117 of the desolation, when ye are in your enemies' landH776; thenH227 shall the landH776 rest, and enjoy its sabbathsH7676. 35All the daysH3117 of the desolation it shall rest, [the daysH3117 in] which it did not rest on your sabbathsH7676, when ye dweltH3427 therein. 36And as to those that remainH7604 of you — I will send faintness into their heartsH3824 in the landsH776 of their enemiesH341, that the soundH6963 of a drivenH5086 leafH5929 shall chase them, and they shall fleeH5127, as fleeingH5127 from a swordH2719; and they shall fallH5307 when none pursueth; 37and they shall stumbleH3782 oneH376 over another, as it wereH1961 before a swordH2719, when none pursueth; and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemiesH341. 38And ye shall perishH6 among the nationsH1471, and the landH776 of your enemiesH341 shall eatH398 you up. 39And they that remainH7604 of you shall wasteH4743 awayH4743 through their iniquityH5771 in your enemies' landsH776; and alsoH637 through the iniquitiesH5771 of their fathersH1 shall they wasteH4743 awayH4743 with them. 40And they shall confessH3034 their iniquityH5771, and the iniquityH5771 of their fathersH1, through their unfaithfulnessH4604 wherein they were unfaithful to me, and alsoH637 that they have walkedH1980 contrary unto me, 41so that I alsoH637 walked contrary unto them, and broughtH935 them into the landH776 of their enemiesH341. If thenH227 their uncircumcisedH6189 heartH3824 be humbledH3665, and they thenH227 acceptH7521 the punishmentH5771 of their iniquityH5771, 42I will rememberH2142 my covenantH1285 with JacobH3290, and alsoH637 my covenantH1285 with IsaacH3327, and alsoH637 my covenantH1285 with AbrahamH85 will I rememberH2142; and I will rememberH2142 the landH776. 43For the landH776 shall be leftH5800 by them, and shall enjoy its sabbathsH7676, when it is in desolation without them; and they shall acceptH7521 the punishmentH5771 of their iniquityH5771; because, even because they despised my judgmentsH4941, and their soulH5315 abhorredH1602 my statutesH2708. 44And yet for all that, when they are in the landH776 of their enemiesH341, I will not despise them, and will not abhorH1602 them, to make an endH3615 of them utterly, to breakH6565 my covenantH1285 with them, for I am Jehovah their 4GodH430. 45But I will rememberH2142 toward them the covenantH1285 with their ancestors whom I broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 before the eyesH5869 of the nationsH1471, that I might beH1961 their 5GodH430: I am Jehovah. 46These are the statutesH2706 and ordinancesH4941 and lawsH8451 which Jehovah madeH5414 between him and the children of IsraelH3478 in mount SinaiH5514, by the handH3027 of MosesH4872.
