Leviticus 25:39-55
39And if thy brotherH251 be waxed poor with thee, and sellH4376 himself unto thee; thou shalt not make him to serveH5647 as a bondservant. 40As a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall beH1961 with thee; he shall serveH5647 with thee unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104: 41then shall he goH3318 out from thee, he and his children with him, and shall returnH7725 unto his ownH272 familyH4940, and unto the possessionH272 of his fathersH1 shall he returnH7725. 42For they are my servantsH5650, whom I broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714: they shall not be soldH4376 as bondmen. 43Thou shalt not ruleH7287 over him with rigor, but shalt fearH3372 thy GodH430. 44And as for thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, whom thou shalt have; of the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about you, of them shall ye buyH7069 bondmen and bondmaids. 45Moreover of the children of the strangers that sojourn among you, of them shall ye buyH7069, and of their familiesH4940 that are with you, which they have begotten in your landH776: and they shall beH1961 your possessionH272. 46And ye shall make them an inheritanceH5157 for your children after you, to hold for a possessionH272; of them shall ye takeH3423 your bondmen for everH5769: but over your brethren the children of IsraelH3478 ye shall not ruleH7287, oneH376 over another, with rigor.
47And if a stranger or sojourner with thee be waxed rich, and thy brotherH251 be waxed poor beside him, and sellH4376 himself unto the stranger or sojourner with thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s familyH4940; 48after that he isH1961 soldH4376 he may beH1961 redeemedH1350: oneH259 of his brethren may redeemH1350 him; 49or his uncleH1730, or his uncle’sH1730 sonH1121, may redeemH1350 him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his familyH4940 may redeemH1350 him; or if he be waxed rich, he may redeemH1350 himself. 50And he shall reckon with him that boughtH7069 him from the yearH8141 that he soldH4376 himself to him unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104: and the price of his saleH4465 shall beH1961 according unto the numberH4557 of yearsH8141; according to the time of a hired servant shall he beH1961 with him. 51If there be yetH5750 manyH7227 yearsH8141, according unto them he shall give backH7725 the price of his redemptionH1353 out of the moneyH3701 that he was bought for. 52And if there remainH7604 but fewH4592 yearsH8141 unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104, then he shall reckon with him; according unto his yearsH8141 shall he give backH7725 the price of his redemptionH1353. 53As a servant hired yearH8141 by yearH8141 shall he beH1961 with him: he shall not ruleH7287 with rigor over him in thy sight. 54And if he be not redeemedH1350 by these means, then he shall goH3318 out in the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104, he, and his children with him. 55For unto me the children of IsraelH3478 are servantsH5650; they are my servantsH5650 whom I broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714: I am Jehovah your GodH430.
