Leviticus 11

1And Jehovah spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 and to AaronH175, sayingH559 to them, 2SpeakH1696 unto the children of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, These are the animalsH929 which ye shall eatH398 of all the beasts which are on the earthH776. 3Whatever hath cloven hoofsH6541, and feet quite split open, and cheweth the cudH1625, among the beasts — that shall ye eatH398. 4OnlyH389 these shall ye not eatH398 of those that chew the cudH1625, or of those with cloven hoofsH6541: the camelH1581, for it cheweth the cudH1625, but hath not cloven hoofsH6541 — it shall be uncleanH2931 unto you; 5and the rock-badger, for it cheweth the cudH1625, but hath not cloven hoofsH6541 — it shall be uncleanH2931 unto you; 6and the hareH768, for it cheweth the cudH1625, but hath not cloven hoofsH6541 — it shall be uncleanH2931 unto you; 7and the swine, for it hath cloven hoofsH6541, and feet quite split open, but it cheweth not the cudH1625 — it shall be uncleanH2931 unto you. 8Of their fleshH1320 shall ye not eatH398, and their carcase shall ye not touchH5060: they shall be uncleanH2931 unto you. 9These shall ye eatH398 of all that are in the watersH4325: whatever hath finsH5579 and scalesH7193 in watersH4325, in seasH3220 and in rivers, these shall ye eatH398; 10but all that have not finsH5579 and scalesH7193 in seasH3220 and in rivers, of all that swarm in the watersH4325, and of every living soulH5315 which is in the watersH4325 — they shall be an abomination unto you. 11They shall beH1961 even an abomination unto you: of their fleshH1320 shall ye not eatH398, and their carcase ye shall have in abomination. 12Whatever in the watersH4325 hath no finsH5579 and scalesH7193, that shall be an abomination unto you. 13And these shall ye have in abomination of the fowls; they shall not be eatenH398; an abomination shall they be: the eagleH5404, and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle, 14and the falcon, and the kite, after its kindH4327; 15every ravenH6158 after its kindH4327; 16and the female ostrichH3284 and the male ostrichH3284, and the sea-gull, and the hawk, after its kindH4327; 17and the owlH3244, and the gannet, and the ibis, 18and the swan, and the pelican, and the carrion vultureH7360, 19and the storkH2624; the heronH601 after its kindH4327, and the hoopoeH1744, and the batH5847. 20Every wingedH5775 crawling thingH8318 that goeth upon all fourH702 shall be an abomination unto you. 21Yet these shall ye eatH398 of every wingedH5775 crawling thing that goeth upon all fourH702: those which have legsH3767 above their feetH7272 with which to leap upon the earthH776. 22These shall ye eatH398 of them: the arbeh after its kindH4327, and the solam after its kindH4327, and the hargol after its kindH4327, and the hargab after its kindH4327. 23But every wingedH5775 crawling thingH8318 that hath fourH702 feetH7272 shall be an abomination unto you. 24And by these ye shall makeH2930 yourselvesH2930 uncleanH2930; whoever toucheth their carcase shall be uncleanH2930 until the even. 25And whoever carrieth [ought] of their carcase shall washH3526 his garmentsH899, and be uncleanH2930 until the even. 26Every beast that hath cloven hoofsH6541, but not feet quite split open, nor cheweth the cudH1625, shall be uncleanH2931 unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be uncleanH2931. 27And whatever goeth on its paws, among all manner of beasts that goH1980 upon all fourH702, those are uncleanH2931 unto you: whoever toucheth their carcase shall be uncleanH2931 until the even. 28And he that carrieth their carcase shall washH3526 his garmentsH899, and be uncleanH2931 until the even: they shall be uncleanH2931 unto you. 29And these shall be uncleanH2931 unto you among the crawling thingsH8318 which crawl on the earthH776: the mole, and the field-mouse, and the lizard, after its kindH4327; 30and the groaning lizard, and the great red lizard, and the climbing lizard, and the chomet, and the chameleon. 31These shall be uncleanH2931 unto you among all that crawl: whoever toucheth them when they are dead, shall be uncleanH2931 until the even. 32And on whatever any of them whenH834 they are dead doth fallH5307, it shall be uncleanH2930; all vesselsH3627 of woodH6086, or garmentH899, or skinH5785, or sackH8242, every vesselH3627 wherewith workH4399 is done — it shall be put into waterH4325, and be uncleanH2930 until the even; then shall it be cleanH2891. 33And every earthen vesselH3627 into which [any] of them falleth — whatever is in it shall be uncleanH2930; and ye shall breakH7665 it. 34All foodH400 that is eatenH398 on which [such] waterH4325 hath comeH935 shall be uncleanH2930; and all drinkH8354 that is drunkH8354 shall be uncleanH2930, in every [such] vesselH3627. 35And everythingH3605 whereH834 upon [any part] of their carcase falleth shall beH1961 uncleanH2931; ovenH8574 and hearth shall beH1961 brokenH5422 downH5307: they are uncleanH2931, and shall beH1961 uncleanH2931 unto you. 36NeverthelessH389, a springH4599 or a well, a quantity of waterH4325, shall beH1961 cleanH2889. But he that toucheth their carcase shall beH1961 uncleanH2930. 37And if any part of their carcase fallH5307 upon any sowing-seed which is to be sownH2232, it shall be cleanH2889; 38but if waterH4325 have been putH5414 on the seedH2233, and any part of their carcase fallH5307 thereon, it shall be uncleanH2931 unto you. 39And if any beast which is to you for foodH402 dieH4191, he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be uncleanH2930 until the even. 40And he that eateth of its carcase shall washH3526 his garmentsH899, and be uncleanH2930 until the even: he also that carrieth its carcase shall washH3526 his garmentsH899, and be uncleanH2930 until the even. 41And every crawling thingH8318 which crawleth on the earthH776 shall be an abomination; it shall not be eatenH398. 42Whatever goeth on the belly, and whatever goeth on all fourH702, and all that have a great manyH7235 feetH7272, of every manner of crawling thingH8318 which crawleth on the earthH776 — these ye shall not eatH398; for they are an abomination. 43Ye shall not makeH2930 yourselves abominable through any crawling thingH8318 which crawleth, neither shall ye makeH2930 yourselves uncleanH2930 with them, that ye should be defiledH2930 thereby. 44For I am Jehovah your 1GodH430; and ye shall hallow yourselves, and ye shall beH1961 holyH6918; for I am holyH6918; and ye shall not makeH2930 yourselves uncleanH2930 through any manner of crawling thingH8318 which creepeth on the earthH776. 45For I am Jehovah who broughtH5927 you up out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, to beH1961 your 2GodH430: ye shall therefore beH1961 holyH6918, for I am holyH6918. 46This is the lawH8451 of cattleH929, and of fowl, and of every living soulH5315 that moveth in the watersH4325, and of every soulH5315 that crawleth on the earthH776; 47to make a difference between the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889, and between the beast that is to be eatenH398 and the beast that is not to be eatenH398.
