Leviticus 25
1And Jehovah spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 in mount SinaiH5514, sayingH559, 2SpeakH1696 unto the children of IsraelH3478 and sayH559 unto them, When ye comeH935 into the landH776 that I will giveH5414 you, the landH776 shall celebrate a sabbathH7676 to Jehovah. 3SixH8337 yearsH8141 shalt thou sowH2232 thy fieldH7704, and sixH8337 yearsH8141 shalt thou pruneH2168 thy vineyardH3754, and gatherH622 in the produceH8393 thereof, 4but in the seventhH7637 yearH8141 shall beH1961 a sabbathH7676 of rest for the landH776, a sabbathH7676 to Jehovah. Thy fieldH7704 shalt thou not sowH2232, and thy vineyardH3754 shalt thou not pruneH2168. 5That which springeth up from the scattered seed of thy harvestH7105 thou shalt not reapH7114, and the grapes of thine undressed vines thou shalt not gatherH1219: a yearH8141 of rest shall it beH1961 for the landH776. 6And the sabbathH7676 of the landH776 shall beH1961 for foodH402 for you, for thee, and for thy bondman, and for thy handmaid, and for thy hired servantH5650, and for him that dwelleth as a sojourner with thee, and for thy cattle, 7and for the beasts that are in thy landH776: all the produceH8393 thereof shall beH1961 for food. 8And thou shalt countH5608 sevenH7651 sabbathsH7676 of yearsH8141, sevenH7651 timesH6471 sevenH7651 yearsH8141; so that the daysH3117 of the sevenH7651 sabbathsH7676 of yearsH8141 beH1961 unto thee forty-nine yearsH8141. 9Then shalt thou cause the loud soundH8643 of the trumpetH7782 to go forth in the seventhH7637 monthH2320, on the tenth of the monthH2320; on the dayH3117 of atonementH3725 shall ye cause the trumpetH7782 to go forth throughout your landH776. 10And ye shall hallow the yearH8141 of the fiftieth yearH8141, and proclaimH7121 libertyH1865 in the landH776 unto all the inhabitantsH3427 thereof; a [yearH8141 of] jubileeH3104 shall it beH1961 unto you, and ye shall returnH7725 every manH376 unto his possessionH272, and ye shall returnH7725 every manH376 unto his familyH4940; 11a yearH8141 of jubileeH3104 shall that fiftieth yearH8141 beH1961 unto you: ye shall not sowH2232, neither reapH7114 its aftergrowth, nor gatherH1219 [the fruit of] its undressed vines. 12For it is the jubileeH3104; it shall beH1961 holyH6944 unto you; out of the fieldH7704 shall ye eatH398 its produceH8393. 13In this yearH8141 of the jubileeH3104 ye shall returnH7725 every manH376 unto his possessionH272. 14And if ye sellH4376 ought unto your neighbour, or buyH7069 of your neighbour's handH3027, ye shall not overreach oneH376 another. 15According to the numberH4557 of yearsH8141 since the jubileeH3104, thou shalt buyH7069 of thy neighbour; according to the numberH4557 of yearsH8141 of the produceH8393, he shall sellH4376 unto thee. 16According to the greaterH7235 numberH4557 of the yearsH8141, thou shalt increaseH7235 the priceH4736 thereof; and according to the fewness of yearsH8141, thou shalt diminishH4591 the priceH4736 of it; for it is the numberH4557 of crops that he selleth unto thee. 17And ye shall not oppressH3238 oneH376 another; but thou shalt fearH3372 thy 1GodH430; for I am Jehovah your 2GodH430. 18And ye shall do my statutesH2708, and observeH8104 mine ordinancesH4941 and do them: thus shall ye dwellH3427 in your landH776 securely. 19And the landH776 shall yield its fruitH6529, and ye shall eatH398 and be satisfied, and dwellH3427 therein securely. 20And if ye sayH559, What shall we eatH398 in the seventhH7637 yearH8141? behold, we may not sowH2232, nor gatherH622 in our produceH8393; 21then I will commandH6680 my blessingH1293 upon you in the sixthH8345 yearH8141, that it may bring forth produceH8393 for threeH7969 yearsH8141; 22and ye shall sowH2232 in the eighthH8066 yearH8141, and ye shall eatH398 of the oldH3465 fruit until the ninthH8671 yearH8141; until her produceH8393 comeH935 in, ye shall eatH398 the oldH3465. 23And the landH776 shall not be soldH4376 for ever; for the landH776 is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me. 24And in all the landH776 of your possessionH272 ye shall grant a redemptionH1353 for the landH776. 25If thy brotherH251 grow poor, and sellH4376 of his possessionH272, then shall his redeemerH1350, his nearestH7138 relation, comeH935 and redeemH1350 that which his brotherH251 soldH4376. 26And if the manH376 have no oneH376 having rightH1353 of redemptionH1353, and his handH3027 have acquired and foundH4672 what sufficeth for its redemptionH1353, 27then shall he reckon the yearsH8141 since the saleH4465 thereof, and restoreH7725 the overplus unto the manH376 to whom he soldH4376 it; and so returnH7725 unto his possessionH272. 28And if his handH3027 have not foundH4672 what sufficeth for him to restoreH7725 it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the handH3027 of the purchaser, until the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104; and in the jubileeH3104 it shall goH3318 out, and he shall returnH7725 unto his possessionH272. 29And if any oneH376 sellH4376 a dwelling-house in a walledH2346 cityH5892, then he shall have the rightH1353 of redemptionH1353 up to the end of the yearH8141 of the saleH4465 thereof; for a full yearH8141 shall he have the rightH1353 of redemptionH1353. 30But if it be not redeemedH1350 until a whole yearH8141 is completeH4390, then the houseH1004 that is in the walledH2346 cityH5892 shall be establishedH6965 for ever to him that boughtH7069 it, throughout his generationsH1755: it shall not goH3318 out in the jubileeH3104. 31But the housesH1004 in villages that have no wallH2346 roundH5439 about them shall beH1961 reckonedH2803 as the fieldsH7704 of the country: they may beH1961 redeemed, and they shall goH3318 out in the jubileeH3104. 32But as to the citiesH5892 of the LevitesH3881, the housesH1004 in the citiesH5892 of their possessionH272, the LevitesH3881 shall have a perpetual rightH1353 of redemptionH1353. 33And if any oneH4480 redeemH1350 from oneH4480 of the LevitesH3881, then the houseH1004 that was sold, in the cityH5892 of his possessionH272, shall goH3318 out in the jubileeH3104; for the housesH1004 of the citiesH5892 of the LevitesH3881 are their possessionH272 among the children of IsraelH3478. 34And the fieldH7704 of the suburbs of their citiesH5892 shall not be soldH4376; for it is their perpetual possessionH272. 35And if thy brotherH251 grow poor, and he be fallen into decay beside thee, then thou shalt relieve him, [be he] stranger or sojourner, that he may liveH2421 beside thee. 36Thou shalt takeH3947 no usury nor increase of him; and thou shalt fearH3372 thy 3GodH430; that thy brotherH251 may liveH2421 beside thee. 37Thy moneyH3701 shalt thou not giveH5414 him upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase. 38I am Jehovah your 4GodH430, who broughtH3318 you forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, to giveH5414 you the landH776 of CanaanH3667, to beH1961 your 5GodH430. 39And if thy brotherH251 grow poor beside thee, and be soldH4376 unto thee, thou shalt not compel him to serveH5647 as a bondservant: 40as a hired servant, as a sojourner, shall he beH1961 with thee; until the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104 shall he serveH5647 thee. 41Then shall he depart from thee, he and his children with him, and shall returnH7725 unto his ownH272 familyH4940, and unto the possessionH272 of his fathersH1 shall he returnH7725. 42For they are my bondmen, whom I broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714: they shall not be soldH4376 as [men] sellH4376 bondmen. 43Thou shalt not ruleH7287 over him with rigour; and thou shalt fearH3372 thy 6GodH430. 44And as for thy bondman and thy handmaid whom thou shalt have — of the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about you, of them shall ye buyH7069 bondmen and handmaids. 45Moreover of the children of them that dwell as sojourners with you, of them may ye buyH7069, and of their familyH4940 that is with you, which they beget in your landH776, and they shall beH1961 your possessionH272. 46And ye shall leave them as an inheritanceH5157 to your children after you, to inheritH5157 them as a possessionH272: these may ye make your bondmen for everH5769; but as for your brethren, the children of IsraelH3478, ye shall not ruleH7287 over oneH376 another with rigour. 47And if a stranger or sojourner become wealthy beside thee, and thy brotherH251 beside him grow poor, and sellH4376 himself unto the stranger, who is settled by thee, or to a scion of the stranger's familyH4940, 48after that he isH1961 soldH4376 there shall beH1961 rightH1353 of redemptionH1353 for him; oneH259 of his brethren may redeemH1350 him. 49Either his uncleH1730 or his uncle's sonH1121 may redeemH1350 him, or one of his next relations of his familyH4940 may redeemH1350 him; or if his means be sufficient, he may redeemH1350 himself. 50And he shall reckon with him that boughtH7069 him from the yearH8141 that he wasH1961 soldH4376 to him unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104; and the price of his saleH4465 shall beH1961 according to the numberH4557 of the yearsH8141, according to the daysH3117 of a hired servant shall he beH1961 with him. 51If there are yetH5750 manyH7227 yearsH8141, according unto them shall he returnH7725 his redemptionH1353 [moneyH3701] out of the moneyH3701 that he was bought for; 52and if there remainH7604 but fewH4592 yearsH8141 unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104, then he shall reckon with him; according unto his [remainingH7604] yearsH8141 [of service] shall he give him backH7725 his redemptionH1353 [money]. 53As a hired servant shall he beH1961 with him yearH8141 by yearH8141; [his master] shall not ruleH7287 with rigour over him before thine eyesH5869. 54And if he be not redeemedH1350 in this manner, then he shall goH3318 out in the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104, he and his children with him. 55For the children of IsraelH3478 are servantsH5650 unto me; they are my servantsH5650 whom I broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714: I am Jehovah your 7GodH430.
