Leviticus 25
1And Jehovah spake unto MosesH4872 in mount SinaiH5514, sayingH559, 2SpeakH1696 unto the children of IsraelH3478, and sayH559 unto them, When ye comeH935 into the landH776 which I giveH5414 you, then shall the landH776 keep a sabbathH7676 unto Jehovah. 3SixH8337 yearsH8141 thou shalt sowH2232 thy fieldH7704, and sixH8337 yearsH8141 thou shalt pruneH2168 thy vineyardH3754, and gatherH622 in the fruits thereof; 4but in the seventhH7637 yearH8141 shall beH1961 a sabbathH7676 of solemn rest for the landH776, a sabbathH7676 unto Jehovah: thou shalt neither sowH2232 thy fieldH7704, nor pruneH2168 thy vineyardH3754. 5That which groweth of itself of thy harvestH7105 thou shalt not reapH7114, and the grapes of thy undressed vine thou shalt not gatherH1219: it shall beH1961 a yearH8141 of solemn rest for the landH776. 6And the sabbathH7676 of the landH776 shall beH1961 for foodH402 for you; for thee, and for thy servantH5650 and for thy maid, and for thy hired servantH5650 and for thy stranger, who sojourn with thee. 7And for thy cattleH929, and for the beasts that are in thy landH776, shall all the increase thereof beH1961 for food.
8And thou shalt number sevenH7651 sabbathsH7676 of yearsH8141 unto thee, sevenH7651 timesH6471 sevenH7651 yearsH8141; and there shall beH1961 unto thee the daysH3117 of sevenH7651 sabbathsH7676 of yearsH8141, even fortyH705 and nineH8672 yearsH8141. 9Then shalt thou send abroad the loud trumpetH7782 on the tenth dayH3117 of the seventhH7637 monthH2320; in the dayH3117 of atonementH3725 shall ye send abroad the trumpetH7782 throughout all your landH776. 10And ye shall hallow the fiftieth yearH8141, and proclaimH7121 libertyH1865 throughout the landH776 unto all the inhabitantsH3427 thereof: it shall beH1961 a jubileeH3104 unto you; and ye shall returnH7725 every manH376 unto his possessionH272, and ye shall returnH7725 every manH376 unto his familyH4940. 11A jubileeH3104 shall that fiftieth yearH8141 beH1961 unto you: ye shall not sowH2232, neither reapH7114 that which groweth of itself in it, nor gatherH1219 the grapes in it of the undressed vines. 12For it is a jubileeH3104; it shall beH1961 holyH6944 unto you: ye shall eatH398 the increase thereof out of the fieldH7704.
13In this yearH8141 of jubileeH3104 ye shall returnH7725 every manH376 unto his possessionH272. 14And if thou sellH4376 aught unto thy neighbor, or buyH7069 of thy neighbor’s handH3027, ye shall not wrong oneH376 another. 15According to the numberH4557 of yearsH8141 after the jubileeH3104 thou shalt buyH7069 of thy neighbor, and according unto the numberH4557 of yearsH8141 of the crops he shall sellH4376 unto thee. 16According to the multitudeH7230 of the yearsH8141 thou shalt increaseH7235 the priceH4736 thereof, and according to the fewness of the yearsH8141 thou shalt diminishH4591 the priceH4736 of it; for the numberH4557 of the crops doth he sellH4376 unto thee. 17And ye shall not wrong oneH376 another; but thou shalt fearH3372 thy GodH430: for I am Jehovah your GodH430.
18Wherefore ye shall do my statutesH2708, and keepH8104 mine ordinancesH4941 and do them; and ye shall dwellH3427 in the landH776 in safety. 19And the landH776 shall yield its fruitH6529, and ye shall eatH398 your fill, and dwellH3427 therein in safety. 20And if ye shall sayH559, What shall we eatH398 the seventhH7637 yearH8141? behold, we shall not sowH2232, nor gatherH622 in our increase; 21then I will commandH6680 my blessingH1293 upon you in the sixthH8345 yearH8141, and it shall bring forth fruit for the threeH7969 yearsH8141. 22And ye shall sowH2232 the eighthH8066 yearH8141, and eatH398 of the fruits, the oldH3465 store; until the ninthH8671 yearH8141, until its fruits comeH935 in, ye shall eatH398 the oldH3465 store.
23And the landH776 shall not be soldH4376 in perpetuity; for the landH776 is mine: for ye are strangers and sojourners with me. 24And in all the landH776 of your possessionH272 ye shall grant a redemptionH1353 for the landH776. 25If thy brotherH251 be waxed poor, and sellH4376 some of his possessionH272, then shall his kinsman that is next unto him comeH935, and shall redeemH1350 that which his brotherH251 hath soldH4376. 26And if a manH376 have no oneH376 to redeemH1350 it, and he beH1961 waxed rich and findH4672 sufficient to redeemH1350 it; 27then let him reckon the yearsH8141 of the saleH4465 thereof, and restoreH7725 the overplus unto the manH376 to whom he soldH4376 it; and he shall returnH7725 unto his possessionH272. 28But if he beH1961 not able to get it backH7725 for himself, then that which he hath sold shall remain in the handH3027 of him that hath boughtH7069 it until the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104: and in the jubileeH3104 it shall goH3318 out, and he shall returnH7725 unto his possessionH272.
29And if a manH376 sellH4376 a dwelling-house in a walledH2346 cityH5892, then he may redeem it within a whole yearH8141 after it is soldH4376; for a full yearH8141 shall he have the rightH1353 of redemptionH1353. 30And if it be not redeemedH1350 within the space of a fullH4390 yearH8141, then the houseH1004 that is in the walledH2346 cityH5892 shall be made sure in perpetuity to him that boughtH7069 it, throughout his generationsH1755: it shall not goH3318 out in the jubileeH3104. 31But the housesH1004 of the villages which have no wallH2346 roundH5439 about them shall beH1961 reckonedH2803 with the fieldsH7704 of the country: they may beH1961 redeemed, and they shall goH3318 out in the jubileeH3104. 32Nevertheless the citiesH5892 of the LevitesH3881, the housesH1004 of the citiesH5892 of their possessionH272, may the LevitesH3881 redeem at any time. 33And if oneH4480 of the LevitesH3881 redeemH1350, then the houseH1004 that was sold, and the cityH5892 of his possessionH272, shall goH3318 out in the jubileeH3104; for the housesH1004 of the citiesH5892 of the LevitesH3881 are their possessionH272 among the children of IsraelH3478. 34But the fieldH7704 of the suburbs of their citiesH5892 may not be soldH4376; for it is their perpetual possessionH272.
35And if thy brotherH251 be waxed poor, and his handH3027 fail with thee; then thou shalt uphold him: as a stranger and a sojourner shall he liveH2421 with thee. 36TakeH3947 thou no interestH5392 of him or increase, but fearH3372 thy GodH430; that thy brotherH251 may liveH2421 with thee. 37Thou shalt not giveH5414 him thy moneyH3701 upon interestH5392, nor giveH5414 him thy victuals for increase. 38I am Jehovah your GodH430, who broughtH3318 you forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, to giveH5414 you the landH776 of CanaanH3667, and to beH1961 your GodH430.
39And if thy brotherH251 be waxed poor with thee, and sellH4376 himself unto thee; thou shalt not make him to serveH5647 as a bondservant. 40As a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall beH1961 with thee; he shall serveH5647 with thee unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104: 41then shall he goH3318 out from thee, he and his children with him, and shall returnH7725 unto his ownH272 familyH4940, and unto the possessionH272 of his fathersH1 shall he returnH7725. 42For they are my servantsH5650, whom I broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714: they shall not be soldH4376 as bondmen. 43Thou shalt not ruleH7287 over him with rigor, but shalt fearH3372 thy GodH430. 44And as for thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, whom thou shalt have; of the nationsH1471 that are roundH5439 about you, of them shall ye buyH7069 bondmen and bondmaids. 45Moreover of the children of the strangers that sojourn among you, of them shall ye buyH7069, and of their familiesH4940 that are with you, which they have begotten in your landH776: and they shall beH1961 your possessionH272. 46And ye shall make them an inheritanceH5157 for your children after you, to hold for a possessionH272; of them shall ye takeH3423 your bondmen for everH5769: but over your brethren the children of IsraelH3478 ye shall not ruleH7287, oneH376 over another, with rigor.
47And if a stranger or sojourner with thee be waxed rich, and thy brotherH251 be waxed poor beside him, and sellH4376 himself unto the stranger or sojourner with thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s familyH4940; 48after that he isH1961 soldH4376 he may beH1961 redeemedH1350: oneH259 of his brethren may redeemH1350 him; 49or his uncleH1730, or his uncle’sH1730 sonH1121, may redeemH1350 him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his familyH4940 may redeemH1350 him; or if he be waxed rich, he may redeemH1350 himself. 50And he shall reckon with him that boughtH7069 him from the yearH8141 that he soldH4376 himself to him unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104: and the price of his saleH4465 shall beH1961 according unto the numberH4557 of yearsH8141; according to the time of a hired servant shall he beH1961 with him. 51If there be yetH5750 manyH7227 yearsH8141, according unto them he shall give backH7725 the price of his redemptionH1353 out of the moneyH3701 that he was bought for. 52And if there remainH7604 but fewH4592 yearsH8141 unto the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104, then he shall reckon with him; according unto his yearsH8141 shall he give backH7725 the price of his redemptionH1353. 53As a servant hired yearH8141 by yearH8141 shall he beH1961 with him: he shall not ruleH7287 with rigor over him in thy sight. 54And if he be not redeemedH1350 by these means, then he shall goH3318 out in the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104, he, and his children with him. 55For unto me the children of IsraelH3478 are servantsH5650; they are my servantsH5650 whom I broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714: I am Jehovah your GodH430.
