1 Corinthians 11:2-16

2NowG1161 I praiseG1867 you, that in all thingsG3956 ye are mindful of me; and that as I have directed you, ye keepG2722 the directions.

3But I wishG2309 you to know that the ChristG5547 isG1510 the headG2776 of every manG435, but woman's headG2776 [isG1510] the manG435, and the Christ's headG2776 1GodG2316.

4Every manG435 prayingG4336 or prophesyingG4395, having [anything] on his headG2776, puts his headG2776 to shameG2617.

5But every womanG1135 prayingG4336 or prophesyingG4395 with her headG2776 uncovered puts her own headG2776 to shameG2617; for it isG1510 oneG1520 and the sameG846 as a shaved [womanG1135].

6For if a womanG1135 be not coveredG2619, let her hair alsoG2532 be cut off. But if [it be] shamefulG150 to a womanG1135 to have her hair cut off or to be shaved, let her be coveredG2619.

7For manG435 indeed oughtG3784 not to have his headG2776 coveredG2619, beingG1510 2God's imageG1504 and gloryG1391; but womanG1135 isG1510 man's gloryG1391.

8For manG435 isG1510 not of womanG1135, but womanG1135 of manG435.

9For alsoG2532 manG435 was not created for the sakeG1223 of the womanG1135, but womanG1135 for the sakeG1223 of the manG435.

10Therefore oughtG3784 the womanG1135 to have authorityG1849 on her headG2776, on accountG1223 of the angelsG32.

11HoweverG4133, neither [is] womanG1135 without manG435, nor manG435 without womanG1135, in [the] LordG2962.

12For as the womanG1135 [is] of the manG435, so alsoG2532 [is] the manG435 by the womanG1135, but all thingsG3956 of 3GodG2316.

13JudgeG2919 in yourselves: isG1510 it comely that a womanG1135 should prayG4336 to 4GodG2316 uncovered?

14Does not evenG3761 natureG5449 itself teachG1321 you, that manG435, if he have longG2863 hairG2863, it isG1510 a dishonour to him?

15But womanG1135, if she have longG2863 hairG2863, [it isG1510] gloryG1391 to her; for the longG2863 hairG2863 isG1510 givenG1325 [to her] in lieu of a veil.

16But if any oneG5100 thinkG1380 to beG1510 contentious, we have no suchG5108 customG4914, nor the assemblies of 5GodG2316.
