Genesis 7
(2 Peter 3:1–7)
1Then the LORDH3068 saidH559 to NoahH5146, “GoH935 intoH413 the arkH8392, youH859 and allH3605 your familyH1004, becauseH3588 I have foundH7200 youH853 righteousH6662 in thisH2088 generationH1755. 2You are to take with youH3947 seven pairs ofH76511 every kind ofH3605 cleanH2889 animalH929, a maleH376 and its mateH802; a pairH8147 ofH4480 every kind of uncleanH3808H2889 animalH929, a maleH376 and its mateH802; 3andH1571 sevenH7651 pairs of every kind of birdH5775 of the airH8064, maleH2145 and femaleH5347, to preserveH2421 their offspringH2233 onH5921 the faceH6440 of allH3605 the earthH776. 4ForH3588 sevenH7651 daysH3117 from nowH5750 IH595 will send rainH4305 onH5921 the earthH776 for fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915, and I will wipeH4229 fromH5921 the faceH6440 of the earthH127 everyH3605 living thingH3351 I have madeH6213.”
5And NoahH5146 didH6213 allH3605 thatH834 the LORDH3068 had commanded himH6680.
6Now NoahH5146 was 600H8337H3967 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when the floodwatersH3999H4325 cameH1961 uponH5921 the earthH776. 7And NoahH5146 and his wifeH802, withH854 his sonsH1121 andH1121 their wivesH802, enteredH935H413 the arkH8392 to escapeH6440 the watersH4325 of the floodH3999. 8The cleanH2889H929 andH4480 uncleanH369H2889 animalsH929, the birdsH5775, and everythingH3605 thatH834 crawlsH7430 alongH5921 the groundH127 9cameH935 toH413 NoahH5146 to enterH413 the arkH8392, twoH8147 by twoH8147, maleH2145 and femaleH5347, asH834 GodH430 had commandedH6680 NoahH5146.
10And afterH1961 sevenH7651 daysH3117 the floodwatersH4325H3999 cameH1961 uponH5921 the earthH776. 11InH8141 the sixH8337 hundredthH3967 yearH8141 of Noah’sH5146 lifeH2416, on the seventeenthH7651 dayH3117 of the secondH8145 monthH2320, allH3605 the fountainsH4599 of the greatH7227 deepH8415 burst forthH1234, and the floodgatesH699 of the heavensH8064 were openedH6605. 12And the rainH1653 fellH1961 uponH5921 the earthH776 for fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915.
13On that veryH6106 dayH3117H2088 NoahH5146 enteredH935H413 the arkH8392, along with his sonsH1121H5146 ShemH8035, HamH2526, and JaphethH3315, andH5146 his wifeH802, and the threeH7969 wivesH802 of his sonsH1121— 14theyH1992H3605 andH3605 everyH3605 kind ofH4327 wild animalH2416, livestockH929, crawling creatureH7431H7430H5921H776, birdH5775, andH3605 winged creatureH6833. 15They cameH935 toH413 NoahH5146 to enterH413 the arkH8392, twoH8147 by twoH8147 of everyH3605 creatureH13202 withH834 the breathH7307 of lifeH2416. 16And they enteredH935, the maleH2145 and femaleH5347 of everyH3605 living thingH1320, asH834 GodH430 had commandedH6680 Noah. Then the LORDH3068H1157 shut him inH5462.
17For fortyH705 daysH3117 the floodH3999 kept comingH1961 onH5921 the earthH776, and the watersH4325 roseH7235 and liftedH5375 the arkH8392 high aboveH5921 the earthH776. 18So the watersH4325 continued to surgeH1396 and riseH7235 greatlyH3966 onH5921 the earthH776, andH1980 the arkH8392 floated onH5921 the surfaceH6440 of the watersH4325. 19Finally, the watersH4325 completelyH3966 prevailedH1396 uponH5921 the earthH776, so that allH3605 the highH1364 mountainsH2022 underH8478 allH3605 the heavensH8064 were coveredH3680.
20The watersH4325 roseH1396 and coveredH3680 the mountaintopsH2022 to a depthH4605 of fifteenH2568H6240 cubitsH520.3 21And everyH3605 living thingH1320 that movedH7430 uponH5921 the earthH776 perishedH1478—birdsH5775, livestockH929, animalsH2416, everyH3605 creature that swarmsH8318H8317 uponH5921 the earthH776, and allH3605 mankindH120. 22Of allH3605 thatH834 was on dry landH2724, everythingH3605 that hadH834 the breathH5397 ofH7307 lifeH2416 in its nostrilsH639 diedH4191. 23And everyH3605 living thingH3351 onH5921 the faceH6440 of the earthH127 was destroyedH4229—manH120 andH5704 livestockH929H5704, crawling creaturesH7431 and birdsH5775 of the airH8064; they were blotted outH4229 fromH4480 the earthH776, and onlyH389 NoahH5146 and thoseH834 with himH854 in the arkH8392 remainedH7604.
24And the watersH4325 prevailedH1396 uponH5921 the earthH776 for 150H3967H2572 daysH3117.
