The Flood
1Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to NoahH5146, “EnterH935 the arkH8392, you and allH3605 your householdH1004, for you alone I have seenH7200 to be 1righteousH6662 beforeH6440 Me in thisH2088 generationH1755. 2You shall takeH3947 2with you 3sevenH7651 pairsH7651 of everyH3605 4cleanH2889 animalH929, a maleH376 and his femaleH802; and twoH8147 of the animalsH929 that are not cleanH2889, a maleH376 and his femaleH802; 3alsoH1571 of the birdsH5775 of the skyH8064, 5sevenH7651 pairsH7651, maleH2145 and femaleH5347, to keepH2421 their 6offspringH2233 aliveH2421 on the faceH6440 of allH3605 the earthH776. 4For after 7sevenH7651 moreH5750 daysH3117, I will sendH4305 rainH4305 on the earthH776 for 8fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915; and I will wipeH4229 outH4229 from the faceH6440 of the landH127 9everyH3605 livingH3351 thingH3351 that I have madeH6213.” 5So 10NoahH5146 actedH6213 in accordance with everythingH3605 that the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 him.
6Now NoahH5146 was 11sixH8337 hundredH3967 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when the floodH3999 of waterH4325 12cameH1961 upon the earthH776. 7Then 13NoahH5146 and his sonsH1121, his wifeH802, and his sons’H1121 wivesH802 with him enteredH935 the arkH8392 becauseH4480H6440 of the watersH4325 of the floodH3999. 814Of cleanH2889 animalsH929 and animalsH929 that are not cleanH2889 and birdsH5775 and everythingH3605 that crawlsH7430 on the groundH127, 9they all wentH935 into the arkH8392 to NoahH5146 15by twosH8147, maleH2145 and femaleH5347, as GodH430 had commandedH6680 NoahH5146. 10Now it cameH1961 aboutH1961 after 16the sevenH7651 daysH3117, that the watersH4325 of the floodH3999 17cameH1961 upon the earthH776. 11In the 18sixH8337 hundredthH3967 yearH8141 of Noah’sH5146 lifeH2425, in the secondH8145 monthH2320, on the seventeenthH7651H6240 dayH3117 of the monthH2320, on that dayH3117 allH3605 19the fountainsH4599 of the greatH7227 deepH8415 burstH1234 openH1234, and the 20floodgatesH699 of the skyH8064 were openedH6605. 1221The rainH1653 22fellH1961 upon the earthH776 for fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915.
13On thisH2088 veryH6106 sameH6106 dayH3117 23NoahH5146, ShemH8035, HamH2526, and JaphethH3315, the sonsH1121 of NoahH5146, and Noah’sH5146 wifeH802 and the threeH7969 wivesH802 of his sonsH1121 with them, enteredH935 the arkH8392, 14they and everyH3605 animalH2421 according to its kindH4327, and allH3605 the livestockH929 according to 24their kindH4327, and everyH3605 crawlingH7431 thingH7431 that crawlsH7430 on the earthH776 according to its kindH4327, and everyH3605 birdH5775 according to its kindH4327, 25allH3605 sortsH3671 of birdsH6833. 15So they wentH935 into the arkH8392 to NoahH5146, 26by twosH8147 of allH3605 fleshH1320 in whichH834 there was the breathH7307 of lifeH2425. 16Those that enteredH935, maleH2145 and femaleH5347 of allH3605 fleshH1320, enteredH935 as GodH430 had commandedH6680 him; and the LordH3068 closedH5462 the door behindH1157 him.
17Then the floodH3999 27cameH1961 upon the earthH776 for 28fortyH705 daysH3117, and the waterH4325 increasedH7235 and liftedH5375 upH5375 the arkH8392, so that it roseH7311 aboveH4480H5921 the earthH776. 18The waterH4325 prevailedH1396 and increasedH7235 greatlyH3966 upon the earthH776, and the arkH8392 29floatedH1980 on the 30surfaceH6440 of the waterH4325. 19And the waterH4325 prevailedH1396 moreH3966 and moreH3966 upon the earthH776, so that allH3605 the highH1364 mountainsH2022 31everywhereH3605 underH8478 the heavensH8064 were coveredH3680. 20The waterH4325 prevailedH1396 32fifteenH2568H6240 cubitsH520 higherH4605, 33and the mountainsH2022 were coveredH3680. 21So 34allH3605 35creaturesH1320 that movedH7430 on the earthH776 perishedH1478: birdsH5775, livestockH929, animalsH2421, and everyH3605 swarmingH8318 thingH8318 that swarmsH8317 upon the earthH776, and allH3605 mankindH120; 22of allH3605 that was on the dryH2724 landH2724, allH3605 36in whoseH834 nostrilsH639 was the breathH5397 of the spiritH7307 of lifeH2425, diedH4191. 23SoH3541 He wipedH4229 outH4229 37everyH3605 livingH3351 thingH3351 that was upon the faceH6440 of the landH127, from mankindH120 to animalsH929, to crawlingH7431 thingsH7431, and the birdsH5775 of the skyH8064, and they were wipedH4229 outH4229 from the earthH776; and onlyH389 38NoahH5146 was leftH7604, together with those that were with him in the arkH8392. 2439The waterH4325 prevailedH1396 upon the earthH776 for 150H3967H2572 daysH3117.
