Genesis 8
1ButH853 GodH430 rememberedH2142 NoahH5146 and allH3605 the animalsH2416 andH853 livestockH929 thatH834 were with himH854 in the arkH8392. And GodH430 sent a windH7307H5674 overH5921 the earthH776, and the watersH4325 began to subsideH7918. 2The springsH4599 of the deepH8415 and the floodgatesH699 of the heavensH8064 were closedH5534, and the rainH1653 fromH4480 the skyH8064 was restrainedH3607. 3The watersH4325 recededH7725 steadilyH1980H7725 fromH5921 the earthH776, and afterH7097 150H3967H2572 daysH3117 the watersH4325 had gone downH2637.
4On the seventeenthH7651H6240 dayH3117 of the seventhH7637 monthH2320, the arkH8392 came to restH5117 onH5921 the mountainsH2022 of AraratH780. 5And the watersH4325H1961 continuedH1980 to recedeH2637 untilH5704 the tenthH6224 monthH2320, and on the firstH259 dayH2320 of the tenth monthH6224 the topsH7218 of the mountainsH2022 became visibleH7200.
Noah Sends a Raven and a Dove
AfterH7093 fortyH705 daysH3117 NoahH5146 openedH6605 the windowH2474 he had madeH6213 in the arkH8392 7and sent outH7971 a ravenH6158. It kept flying back and forthH3318H7725 untilH5704 the watersH4325 had dried upH3001 fromH5921 the earthH776.
8Then Noah sent outH79711 a doveH3123 to seeH7200 if the watersH4325 had recededH7043 fromH5921 the surfaceH6440 of the groundH127. 9But the doveH3123 foundH4672 noH3808 place to restH4494 her footH3709H7272, and she returnedH7725 to himH413 inH413 the arkH8392, becauseH3588 the watersH4325 were still coveringH5921 the surfaceH6440 of allH3605 the earthH776. So he reached outH7971 his handH3027H3947 and broughtH935 herH853 backH413 insideH413 the arkH8392.
10Noah waitedH2342H5750 sevenH7651 moreH312 daysH3117 and againH3254 sent outH7971 the doveH3123 fromH4480 the arkH8392. 11And beholdH2009, the doveH3123 returnedH935 to himH413 in the eveningH6256H6153 with a freshly pluckedH2965 oliveH2132 leafH5929 in her beakH6310. So NoahH5146 knewH3045 thatH3588 the watersH4325 had recededH7043 fromH5921 the earthH776.
12And Noah waitedH3176H5750 sevenH7651 moreH312 daysH3117 and sent outH7971 the dove againH3123, but this timeH3254H5750H3808 she did not returnH7725 to himH413.
Exiting the Ark
In Noah’s sixH8337 hundredH3967 and firstH259 yearH8141, on the firstH259 dayH2320 of the first monthH7223, the watersH4325 had dried upH2717 fromH5921 the earthH776. So NoahH5146 removedH5493 the coveringH4372 from the arkH8392 and sawH7200H2009 that the surfaceH6440 of the groundH127 was dryH2717. 14By the twenty-seventhH7651H6242 dayH3117H2320 of the secondH8145 monthH2320, the earthH776 was fully dryH3001.
15Then GodH430 saidH1696 toH413 NoahH5146H559, 16“Come outH3318 ofH4480 the arkH8392, youH859 and your wifeH802, along withH854 your sonsH1121 andH1121 their wivesH802. 17Bring outH3318H854 allH3605 the living creaturesH2416H3605H1320 thatH834 are with youH854—birdsH5775, livestockH929, and everythingH3605 that crawlsH7430 uponH5921 the groundH776—so that they can spread outH8317 over the earthH776 and be fruitfulH6509 and multiplyH7235 uponH5921 it.”
18So NoahH5146 came outH3318, along withH854 his sonsH1121 and his wifeH802 and his sonsH1121’ wivesH802. 19EveryH3605 living creatureH2416, everyH3605 creeping thingH7431, and everyH3605 birdH5775—everythingH3605 that movesH7430 uponH5921 the earthH776—came outH3318 ofH4480 the arkH8392, kind by kindH4940.
Noah Builds an Altar
20Then NoahH5146 builtH1129 an altarH4196 to the LORDH3068. And takingH3947 from every kindH3605 of cleanH2889 animalH929 andH3605 cleanH2889 birdH5775, he offeredH5927 burnt offeringsH5930 on the altarH4196. 21When the LORDH3068 smelledH7306 the pleasingH5207 aromaH7381, HeH3068 saidH559 inH413 His heartH3820, “Never againH3808H3254H5750 will I curseH7043 the groundH127 because ofH5668 manH120, even thoughH3588 every inclinationH3336 ofH120 his heartH3820 is evilH7451 from his youthH5271. And neverH3808 againH3254H5750 will I destroyH5221 allH3605 living creaturesH2416 asH834 I have doneH6213.
