Jeremiah 35:12-17
12Then came the wordH1697 of Jehovah unto JeremiahH3414, sayingH559, 13ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: GoH1980, and sayH559 to the menH376 of JudahH3063 and the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389, Will ye not receiveH3947 instruction to hearken to my wordsH1697? saith Jehovah. 14The wordsH1697 of JonadabH3082 the sonH1121 of RechabH7394, that he commandedH6680 his sonsH1121, not to drinkH8354 wineH3196, are performed; and unto this dayH3117 they drinkH8354 none, for they obey their father’sH1 commandmentH4687. But I have spokenH1696 unto you, risingH7925 up earlyH7925 and speakingH1696; and ye have not hearkened unto me. 15I have sentH7971 also unto you all my servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, risingH7925 up earlyH7925 and sendingH7971 them, sayingH559, ReturnH7725 ye now every manH376 from his evilH7451 wayH1870, and amend your doings, and goH7971 not after otherH312 godsH430 to serveH5647 them, and ye shall dwellH3427 in the landH127 which I have givenH5414 to you and to your fathersH1: but ye have not inclinedH5186 your earH241, nor hearkened unto me. 16Forasmuch as the sonsH1121 of JonadabH3082 the sonH1121 of RechabH7394 have performed the commandmentH4687 of their fatherH1 which he commandedH6680 them, but this peopleH5971 hath not hearkened unto me; 17thereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith Jehovah, the GodH430 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: Behold, I will bringH935 upon JudahH3063 and upon all the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389 all the evilH7451 that I have pronounced against them; because I have spokenH1696 unto them, but they have not heardH8085; and I have calledH7121 unto them, but they have not answered.
