Jeremiah 17:1-6
1The sinH2403 of JudahH3063 is writtenH3789 with a pen of ironH1270, andwith the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the tabletH3871 of their heartH3820, and upon the hornsH7161 of your altarsH4196; 2whilst their children rememberH2142 their altarsH4196 and their Asherim by the green treesH6086 upon the highH1364 hillsH1389. 3O my mountain in the fieldH7704, I will giveH5414 thy substance and all thy treasuresH214 for a spoilH957, and thy highH1116 placesH1116, because of sinH2403, throughout all thy bordersH1366. 4And thou, even of thyself, shalt discontinue from thy heritage that I gaveH5414 thee; and I will cause thee to serveH5647 thine enemiesH341 in the landH776 which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fireH784 in mine angerH639 which shall burnH3344 for everH5769.
5ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: CursedH779 is the manH120 that trusteth in manH120, and maketh fleshH1320 his armH2220, and whose heartH3820 departeth from Jehovah. 6For he shall beH1961 like the heath in the desertH6160, and shall not seeH7200 when goodH2896 cometh, but shall inhabitH3427 the parched places in the wildernessH4057, a salt landH776 and not inhabitedH3427.
