Genesis 33

1And JacobH3290 liftedH5375 up his eyesH5869, and lookedH7200, and, behold, EsauH6215 was comingH935, and with him fourH702 hundredH3967 menH376. And he dividedH2673 the childrenH3206 unto LeahH3812, and unto RachelH7354, and unto the twoH8147 handmaids. 2And he putH7760 the handmaids and their childrenH3206 foremost, and LeahH3812 and her childrenH3206 after, and RachelH7354 and JosephH3130 hindermost. 3And he himself passedH5674 over before them, and bowedH7812 himself to the groundH776 sevenH7651 timesH6471, until he came near to his brotherH251. 4And EsauH6215 ranH7323 to meet him, and embracedH2263 him, and fellH5307 on his neckH6677, and kissedH5401 him: and they weptH1058. 5And he liftedH5375 up his eyesH5869, and sawH7200 the womenH802 and the childrenH3206; and saidH559, Who are these with thee? And he saidH559, The childrenH3206 whom GodH430 hath graciously given thy servantH5650. 6Then the handmaids came near, they and their childrenH3206, and they bowedH7812 themselves. 7And LeahH3812 alsoH1571 and her childrenH3206 came near, and bowedH7812 themselves: and after came JosephH3130 near and RachelH7354, and they bowedH7812 themselves. 8And he saidH559, What meanest thou by all this company which I metH6298? And he saidH559, To findH4672 favorH2580 in the sight of my lordH113. 9And EsauH6215 saidH559, I have enoughH7227, my brotherH251; let that which thou hast beH1961 thine. 10And JacobH3290 saidH559, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have foundH4672 favorH2580 in thy sight, then receiveH3947 my present at my handH3027; forasmuch as I have seenH7200 thy faceH6440, as one seeth the faceH6440 of GodH430, and thou wast pleased with me. 11TakeH3947, I pray thee, my gift that is broughtH935 to thee; because GodH430 hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he tookH3947 it. 12And he saidH559, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee. 13And he saidH559 unto him, My lordH113 knoweth that the childrenH3206 are tenderH7390, and that the flocksH6629 and herdsH1241 with me have their youngH3206: and if they overdrive them oneH259 dayH3117, all the flocksH6629 will dieH4191. 14Let my lordH113, I pray thee, passH5674 over before his servantH5650: and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the cattle that are before me and according to the pace of the childrenH3206, until I comeH935 unto my lordH113 unto SeirH8165. 15And EsauH6215 saidH559, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he saidH559, What needeth it? let me findH4672 favorH2580 in the sight of my lordH113. 16So EsauH6215 returnedH7725 that dayH3117 on his wayH1870 unto SeirH8165. 17And JacobH3290 journeyed to SuccothH5523, and builtH1129 him a houseH1004, and madeH6213 boothsH5521 for his cattle: thereforeH3651 the nameH8034 of the placeH4725 is calledH7121 SuccothH5523.

18And JacobH3290 cameH935 in peace to the cityH5892 of ShechemH7927, which is in the landH776 of CanaanH3667, whenH834 he cameH935 from Paddan-aram; and encampedH2583 before the cityH5892. 19And he boughtH7069 the parcel of ground, whereH834 he had spreadH5186 his tentH168, at the handH3027 of the children of HamorH2544, Shechem’s fatherH1, for a hundredH3967 piecesH7192 of moneyH7192. 20And he erected there an altarH4196, and calledH7121 it El-Elohe-Israel.
