1And it came to pass after these thingsH1697, that GodH430 did prove AbrahamH85, and saidH559 unto him, AbrahamH85; and he saidH559, HereH2009 amH1961 I. 2And he saidH559, TakeH3947 now thy sonH1121, thine onlyH3173 sonH1121, whom thou lovest, even IsaacH3327, and get thee into the landH776 of MoriahH4179; and offerH5927 him there for a burnt-offering upon oneH259 of the mountainsH2022 which I will tell thee of. 3And AbrahamH85 roseH6965 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242, and saddledH2280 his ass, and tookH3947 twoH8147 of his youngH5288 menH5288 with him, and IsaacH3327 his sonH1121; and he clave the woodH6086 for the burnt-offering, and roseH6965 up, and went unto the placeH4725 of which GodH430 had told him. 4On the thirdH7992 dayH3117 AbrahamH85 liftedH5375 up his eyesH5869, and sawH7200 the placeH4725 afarH7350 off. 5And AbrahamH85 saidH559 unto his youngH5288 menH5288, Abide ye hereH6311 with the ass, and I and the ladH5288 will goH7725 yonder; and we will worship, and come again to you. 6And AbrahamH85 tookH3947 the woodH6086 of the burnt-offering, and laid it upon IsaacH3327 his sonH1121; and he tookH3947 in his handH3027 the fireH784 and the knifeH3979; and they went both of them togetherH3162. 7And IsaacH3327 spake unto AbrahamH85 his fatherH1, and saidH559, My fatherH1: and he saidH559, HereH2009 am I, my sonH1121. And he saidH559, Behold, the fireH784 and the woodH6086: but whereH346 is the lambH7716 for a burnt-offering? 8And AbrahamH85 saidH559, GodH430 will provide himself the lambH7716 for a burnt-offering, my sonH1121: so they went both of them togetherH3162.

9And they cameH935 to the placeH4725 which GodH430 had told him of; and AbrahamH85 builtH1129 the altarH4196 there, and laid the woodH6086 in order, and bound IsaacH3327 his sonH1121, and laid him on the altarH4196, upon the woodH6086. 10And AbrahamH85 stretchedH7971 forthH7971 his handH3027, and tookH3947 the knifeH3979 to slay his sonH1121. 11And the angelH4397 of Jehovah calledH7121 unto him out of heavenH8064, and saidH559, AbrahamH85, AbrahamH85: and he saidH559, HereH2009 am I. 12And he saidH559, Lay not thy handH3027 upon the ladH5288, neither do thou anythingH3972 unto him; for nowH6258 I knowH3045 that thou fearest GodH430, seeing thou hast not withheldH2820 thy sonH1121, thine onlyH3173 sonH1121, from me. 13And AbrahamH85 liftedH5375 up his eyesH5869, and lookedH7200, and, behold, behind him a ramH352 caught in the thicketH5442 by his hornsH7161: and AbrahamH85 wentH5927 and tookH3947 the ramH352, and offeredH5927 him up for a burnt-offering in the stead of his sonH1121. 14And AbrahamH85 calledH7121 the nameH8034 of that placeH4725 Jehovah-jireh: as it is saidH559 to this dayH3117, In the mount of Jehovah it shall be provided. 15And the angelH4397 of Jehovah calledH7121 unto AbrahamH85 a secondH8145 timeH8145 out of heavenH8064, 16and saidH559, By myself have I swornH7650, saith Jehovah, because thou hast done this thingH1697, and hast not withheldH2820 thy sonH1121, thine onlyH3173 sonH1121, 17that in blessingH1288 I will blessH1288 thee, and in multiplyingH7235 I will multiplyH7235 thy seedH2233 as the starsH3556 of the heavensH8064, and as the sandH2344 which is upon the sea-shore; and thy seedH2233 shall possessH3423 the gateH8179 of his enemiesH341; 18and in thy seedH2233 shall all the nationsH1471 of the earthH776 be blessedH1288; because thou hast obeyed my voiceH6963. 19So AbrahamH85 returnedH7725 unto his youngH5288 menH5288, and they roseH6965 up and wentH7725 togetherH3162 to Beer-sheba; and AbrahamH85 dweltH3427 at Beer-sheba.

20And it came to pass after these thingsH1697, that it wasH1961 toldH5046 AbrahamH85, sayingH559, Behold, MilcahH4435, she alsoH1571 hath borneH3205 children unto thy brotherH251 NahorH5152: 21UzH5780 his first-born, and BuzH938 his brotherH251, and KemuelH7055 the fatherH1 of AramH758, 22and Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and BethuelH1328. 23And BethuelH1328 begat RebekahH7259: these eightH8083 did MilcahH4435 bearH3205 to NahorH5152, Abraham’s brotherH251. 24And his concubineH6370, whose nameH8034 was Reumah, she alsoH1571 bare Tebah, and Gaham, and Tahash, and MaacahH4601.
