Genesis 3
1Now the serpent wasH1961 more subtle than any beast of the fieldH7704 which Jehovah GodH430 had madeH6213. And he saidH559 unto the womanH802, Yea, hath GodH430 saidH559, Ye shall not eatH398 of any treeH6086 of the gardenH1588? 2And the womanH802 saidH559 unto the serpent, Of the fruitH6529 of the treesH6086 of the gardenH1588 we may eatH398: 3but of the fruitH6529 of the treeH6086 which is in the midstH8432 of the gardenH1588, GodH430 hath saidH559, Ye shall not eatH398 of it, neither shall ye touchH5060 it, lestH6435 ye dieH4191. 4And the serpent saidH559 unto the womanH802, Ye shall not surely dieH4191: 5for GodH430 doth knowH3045 that in the dayH3117 ye eatH398 thereof, then your eyesH5869 shall beH1961 openedH6491, and ye shall beH1961 as GodH430, knowingH3045 goodH2896 and evilH7451. 6And when the womanH802 sawH7200 that the treeH6086 was goodH2896 for foodH3978, and that it was a delight to the eyesH5869, and that the treeH6086 was to be desiredH2530 to makeH5414 oneH376 wiseH7919, she tookH3947 of the fruitH6529 thereof, and did eatH398; and she gaveH5414 alsoH1571 unto her husbandH376 with her, and he did eatH398. 7And the eyesH5869 of them both were openedH6491, and they knewH3045 that they were nakedH5903; and they sewedH8609 fig-leaves together, and madeH6213 themselves aprons. 8And they heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of Jehovah GodH430 walkingH1980 in the gardenH1588 in the cool of the dayH3117: and the manH120 and his wifeH802 hidH2244 themselves from the presenceH6440 of Jehovah GodH430 amongst the treesH6086 of the gardenH1588.
9And Jehovah GodH430 calledH7121 unto the manH120, and saidH559 unto him, WhereH335 art thou? 10And he saidH559, I heardH8085 thy voiceH6963 in the gardenH1588, and I was afraidH3372, because I was nakedH5903; and I hidH2244 myself. 11And he saidH559, Who toldH5046 thee that thou wast nakedH5903? Hast thou eatenH398 of the treeH6086, whereof I commandedH6680 thee that thou shouldest not eatH398? 12And the manH120 saidH559, The womanH802 whom thou gavest to be with me, she gaveH5414 me of the treeH6086, and I did eatH398. 13And Jehovah GodH430 saidH559 unto the womanH802, What is this thou hast done? And the womanH802 saidH559, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eatH398. 14And Jehovah GodH430 saidH559 unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, cursedH779 art thou above all cattleH929, and above every beast of the fieldH7704; upon thy bellyH1512 shalt thou go, and dustH6083 shalt thou eatH398 all the daysH3117 of thy life: 15and I will putH7896 enmityH342 between thee and the womanH802, and between thy seedH2233 and her seedH2233: he shall bruiseH7779 thy headH7218, and thou shalt bruiseH7779 his heelH6119. 16Unto the womanH802 he saidH559, I will greatlyH7235 multiplyH7235 thy painH6093 and thy conceptionH2032; in painH6093 thou shalt bringH3205 forthH3205 children; and thy desireH8669 shall be to thy husbandH376, and he shall ruleH4910 over thee. 17And unto AdamH121 he saidH559, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voiceH6963 of thy wifeH802, and hast eatenH398 of the treeH6086, of which I commandedH6680 thee, sayingH559, Thou shalt not eatH398 of it: cursedH779 is the groundH127 for thy sakeH5668; in toil shalt thou eatH398 of it all the daysH3117 of thy life; 18thornsH6975 also and thistlesH1863 shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eatH398 the herb of the fieldH7704; 19in the sweat of thy faceH639 shalt thou eatH398 breadH3899, till thou returnH7725 unto the groundH127; for out of it wast thou takenH3947: for dustH6083 thou art, and unto dustH6083 shalt thou returnH7725. 20And the manH120 calledH7121 his wife’sH802 nameH8034 EveH2332; because she was the motherH517 of all living. 21And Jehovah GodH430 madeH6213 for Adam and for his wifeH802 coats of skinsH5785, and clothedH3847 them.
22And Jehovah GodH430 saidH559, Behold, the manH120 is becomeH1961 as oneH259 of us, to knowH3045 goodH2896 and evilH7451; and nowH6258, lestH6435 he put forthH7971 his handH3027, and takeH3947 alsoH1571 of the treeH6086 of lifeH2416, and eatH398, and live for everH5769— 23therefore Jehovah GodH430 sentH7971 him forthH7971 from the gardenH1588 of EdenH5731, to till the groundH127 from whence he was takenH3947. 24So he droveH1644 out the manH120; and he placed at the eastH6924 of the gardenH1588 of EdenH5731 the CherubimH3742, and the flame of a swordH2719 which turnedH2015 every wayH1870, to keepH8104 the wayH1870 of the treeH6086 of lifeH2416.
